if anyone made the same mistake as me and though buying a 1000k cart would give you 1000k cargo space, the 2x weight stat means that the max carry weight of your donkey/hauler will be x2
so if it's max carry is 100kg then you'd have 200kg cargo space minus the weight of the cart.
kinda confusing, i'm lucky i saved just before buying a new cart.

Not to complain about me getting a lot of target practice you really need to lower robber spawns they attack relentlessly and never ending at some points.

Only thing I would like to see is short cut keys, moving my mouse all the time gets annoying, especially when targetting, switching from aim to quick or back and back to targetting and then reloading.... also a quick warning before you first set out: did you remember water? died twice cause of that...

lovin it when you buy 2 hummers and keep selling shoes shirts and alcohol at respective town... i just hit 2 mil from doing that... just DONT FORGET FUEL!!!!!!!!!

Note to self: it's good to charge at a guy who's holding a 30-06 while I'm holding a sword...I'll be able to take 3 shots to the face at point-blank range and still win the fight.

hm, perhaps an actual in-game tutorial would be nice, i'll give this game a fair shot sometime but not now, i was already in a bad mood but then i spent a while trying to decide how best to prepare for my treck across the desert, left town, and with no warning what so ever see a nice game over screen before i even see my destination, obviously this game requires carefull planning which i simply do not have the patience for at the moment

i get a bit angry because i have died many times in a row because i met 10 bandits at the same time! i only got one move before i died! why is it that hard so early in the game? i seriously don't like this game!

Arbiter: The trading mechanic reminds me a bit of Taipan...the world's not a void, it keeps up with supply and demand, a caravan probably hit that area before you did. I remember getting stuck with black market junk forever in Taipan after knocking off some pirates. Four months in with no sale and then I got arrested. Goddammit.
Also I think internally some towns are coded to 'produce' more than just the export...bought a Deagle, only one in shop, and was surprised to see I couldn't sell it back. There's probably something like "if this town rolls this high to create these shop items it is selling and not buying only."

I like the concept of the game, but not the game as it is now. With some upgrades to the graphics, and improvements in the flow or mechanics I think it would be a very addictive game for those that like to crunch the numbers and kick some ass. You have to have like pics of the robbers in a little window to the side. It would be really cool if this was a multi-player game with people competing to bring in the goods and get the best price, and opportunities to store certain goods for limited times because based on the news you're betting xyz town is going to need this in the next week. I dunno, lots of potential to break out and let people play guns for hire or collaborate. Good concept.

Also because you are training up on the rubes, I find it makes it far more effective to take the sucky people with you so they get better. This way if someone dies and you are going 'ironman' or simply forgot they died and saved, you have the better people available as backup. Whoever thought a mercenary game like Jagged Alliance would prepare one for running trade routes in the wild wild west?

Well I made it to the third town in the 'chain' (north of starting place), and I was then attacked by 2 groups of bandits in a row. The first was alright. The second had 6 bandits in it... Got pasted.

Heh, actually I would say DO go past drushlak, but just a little bit. First sell the donkey and buy a mule, then do one trade loop, collecting and selling loot along the way. Hire Melina and whoever else you like. Encounter a 5-6 man team on your second trip to Drushlak, at least one will be armed with an 'out of depth' weapon. Now...just survive the encounter! The weapon you pick up, if you're lucky, will be enough to reach Okaidi. Now outfit your crew with body armour from the katanas and other things dropped, you'll probably have some left over. Train up your strength beating up punks around Caganel and Poca (since you're training yourself up why not train your compadres too?) until everyone can carry 12-16. Now you can push to the main hub in the northeast much more easily as you can use heavier weapons.

why is no shop keeper interested in the majority of my stuff? I've got loads of guns and nothing to do with them, should I honestly throw them away???
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Apparently I'm learning the hard way... do NOT go past Drushlak until you are ready... the sheriff wasn't kidding when he said that the bandits past that town are much harder than the bandits you deal with at the beginning area...
I guess it's time to start over...

I would enjoy this game..if it wasn't for the damn robbers. I couldn't even make it to the first town because I get ambushed by 4 of them. Even with the rifle they have a ton of health, so, of course I die. Why did you need to put robbers that early in the game? It's 4 on 1 and they must have over 100 health each..how am I supposed to progress with that shit?

@LoneFullmetal did you remember to give your character the ammo in the "caravan" section? It doesn't matter how much ammo you buy if you don't actually give them the ammo.

@superduperfish: When you go out into the outside world, you click in a direction and start going that way. That's why you figure out your direction on the map first; so you know which way to go and don't get lost in the desert. Knowing the distance, you can gauge how much water you're going to need.

@ancelin: When you're on the outside world, there's a wrench icon in the lower right. That menu is where you can save the game.

Why can't I reload? I have hundreds of ammo for my gun, but my character always stops being able to reload in the middle of a battle. It even shows 0/5 on the screen, meaning he can reload but he just won't.

I think I must have accidentally fought a caravan or patrol squad at some point. Now the Desert Patrol attacks me occasionally and I can't figure out how to fix my reputation so they'll leave me alone and every time it happens I have to either reload or send my rep further into the hole. Can anyone help?

Accidentally talked to the general before getting the missile manual. I can't get another pass? The guy even asks me "Hey, do you need another document?" Yes! I do! But the only option is "Nope, see ya." Come ON!

Badge isn't working for me. I'm at $40,000 and have a quest over 3 hours long and no badge!
+ this comment if badge of the day isn't working for you...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
needs more badges!!! I don't want to only get a badge for beginning the game, I want badges for doing well in the game. This is the type of game you could get really creative with badges.
