LOVE this game 5/5 after all picture this scenario
you do the rebel base detruction mision on , 2 desert patrol caravans protect you , 8 men - combat engi included , you finish the mision , your main char , and 2 of ur most elite guys are almost dead - engi included , desert patrol gets wiped out after protecting you of around 15-20 groups of rebels 15-20 each of witch they kil at least 6-9 , and in the end more apear and attack you , best chances ??
well your main ( like me ) can still use an rpg with 2 rounds , you have 1 grenadier , my fav is Constantin Sorescu :P he gets fast to str 14 , and you use 3-4 men as meat shields and in the end . worked for me

i believe thew wa to do it is 5 on accuracy 10 on agility and strength
due to the fact that agility affects character movement speed which is very important for speed at early and mid stages of the game and cannot be improved just like the hp of ur character which as arc said also cant be changed throughout ur caravaneer career

Just some tips for those beginning this game: In the character creation screen, decrease all your intelligence points and increase your Accuracy to 7, Agility to 8 and the rest on Strength. Strength affects your hp and is the only this in the game that cannot be improves throughout the course of the game. And the first thing you do when you enter a different town is to refill your water. Second thing you do is to check your ammo supplies. If you find that you're halfway through the desert without any ammo and five robbers attack you, you might as well be gone. Another a last word of advice is to know that after a while, trading around the starting three towns becomes non-profitable. But don't leave that area until you have at least 20k and a hired man.

To earn a little extra cash, buy medicine when it is less than one dollar and sell it to places that it is more expensive. Medicine is very light so you can carry a lot at once, and it helps your guys stay alive also.

best tip for easy money is to goto hara buy as much medicine as you can then go to gubba and sell it can make easy and quick cash

While you're traveling to a city, or just roaming the desert, look at the bottom right hand part of your game screen. there will be a wrench. click it, and there will be a "save game" button. :D

Basic Route for beginners: Poca Cosa > Caganel > Drushlak. Buy leather at Poca Cosa > sell leather at Caganel and buy shoes > sell shoes at drushlak and buy clothes > sell clothes at Poca Cosa and buy leather > continue that route

Also, the cops are jus draining your cash. They ran right past about 5 groups of robbers who were after me, but still had me pay.

@ blaine that happens when the carts weight overcomes the animals strength thus decrasing cargo space its pretty much dead weight.

i got attacked by a stupid ninja raider caravan. They had like 9 men and they all had obscene amounts of HP. really screwed me.... :(

My game just took a dump. I was on the way to Verdammter Platz when it said I was attacked by a police unit. Why the hell did the police show up as Desert Patrol? That shouldn't have even happened! I was heading to Sheppard for the DP story line when that happened!

Remember that for later by the way. When fuel gets around 100k get ready to sell your vehicles the first time you see the car dealership wants them all at once. Dump'em and gather your forage and animals. Do this again. Notice how slow the caravans go around Qubba? They are weighed down with slow-arsed camels. This is why you and the police are depleting Hara. It takes FOREVER for them to get more crude oil, you have to play good samaritan and take a financial hit to help them out. Also if your trade route ever takes you there, pick up 3 or so barrels of crude to bring with you. This will cover the gas you need to buy.

24680: When you first have the capability to get to Qubba, take a crapton of forage with you. Dump it at Qubba, they use very little so it will remain there a long time. Now build up a ton of money doing clothes and shoes to Qubba. Buy all medicine from surrounding cities and crash the market. (don't forget to buy all jewels you can!) Now buy either all mules and small metal carts, all oxen and all big metal carts, or all camels. (It depends mostly on what is in stock.) Get as many of whichever of these you are going to use. Engage in public service, bring nothing but crude oil to Hara, getting food from Goks as you need. This should set the fuel back to normal.

it seems to me that if you stay in the cagnel, drushlak, poka cosa triangle for a while, with the occasional trip to merdin to buy grenades and kevlar, after a while with 5-6 people each with armor, grenades, and m-14s you should be fine to travel to larger cities, maybe, if you are lucky, even make it to Qubba

@24680 you don't get cars till you get to the cities so fuel is useless maybe if they made it where when you brought enough crude oil to the small towns they can start making fuel

ok, so my character has 90 hp.
which means, if the Robber's Luger does 3-4 damage a hit, i will need to be shot about 30 times in order to die... I must have skin like kevlar!

The market system is kinda fragile. For most of my games there will be no one producing fuel, a vital part of the game. In caravaneer 2, can there be a more stable fuel market?

In Windows 7, the save file is located in C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\RVWEWRQT\chat.kongregate.com\game_files\0000\1443\CaravaneerKongregate.swf (AppData is a hidden folder so you need to turn on show hidden files to see it.) I've occasionally copied the Caravaneer.sol file to my desktop as a backup in case some process would delete the original, since some people have reported files vanishing mysteriously. It has never disappeared for me but I'd hate to lose it to a bug.

jman if you saw even ONE of the google docs....your mind would be blown. I simply don't know if its ok to drop the links right here, but if you want to see them go join the facebook group, there is high potential in the making!
Hopefully it also inspires more in-depth turn based games instead of episodic strategy-only fluff like mission in space. I just love games with trading mechanics, and it's even more amazing for having some of them actually used at appropriate towns!

@oxtwo if it had a auto battle your characters wouldn't take time and think or take cover behind your carts they'd just run forward randomly wasting ammo trying to hit the closest enemy when my strategy is to take out all rockets then all grenades then all LMGs then assault rifles then the remaining
