I think the fact that your bots fire at the closest target is part of the strategy of it. Neither the challenges or the career would be hard if you had more control. If the game was completely different, more control would be cool. That being said, I found the career easy, you just have to make a good combo of bots. The challenges were challenging too.

Overall good. Nice strategy. Only complaint is the controls. The click & drag interface is just plain terrible. In a sequel, I would like to see an RTS-style control scheme. Left click to select a bot of yours, right click to order it to move to a given location and/or attack a given enemy.

One more rant - majority of the challenges are the same thing : keep the range,stick and run.
6 would be really easy if the there was a 'stay' command for the flippin' medic who wanders around aimlessly.
The more I play, the more frustraiting it is - especially since there is a lot of potential here.

Tipo: put the sword to follow the shield, and after you figure out the right distance between shield and dragon, you will win :D

OMIGOD FINALLY THIS ON THE FRONT PAGE!!! I love this game so hard. I used to play oodles two years ago, but now it's on kongregate, i don't think i'll sleep tonight! :D gjgjgjg 5 star + favorite!

i *hate* trying to control the AI. i can't tell it what to shoot, i can't queue orders, i can't even tell it to stand still. i can tell it to follow, but half the time that will result in the bot moving away from what i told it to follow.
and it would also be nice to be able to concede a match. getting frustrated on Challenge 4 would be *slightly*less annoying if i could get on with it once my sword dies, but no, i have to let the shield wander around and wait for it to die, too.

I found short directional commands worked much better than long ones (i.e. move right over here, not move way over there). There does need to be a way to bring up a menu, or quit, during a battle though. Or at least pause.

Entropy, I beat all seven challenges.
And my career is gone... I really don't feel like playing through the game again...

@darkrockslizer: you shouldn't rate a game lower because of it's challenges and achievements. kongregate make them, not the game creator. and if you disconnect while in the middle of a game, don't blame the creator.

The simple mod that if you follow a target you would actually shoot at the target would be a vast improvement.
Another would be on the challenge modes list what your bots actually have for weapons.
Finally, AI must be a NASCAR fan as they seem to continually spin to the left.

challeng 4 wouldn't be as much of a pain, if you could at least quit midway during a battle... that way you wouldn't have to wait a minute for the dragon to take out the sword :-/

Unless I'm missing something, this game doesn't seem to allow for much user control. Meaning it's heavily dependant on AI - which usually does the opposite of what I think it should be doing. can you order your bots to focus fire?

this is it. I didn't get the badge after miraculously completing 4th challenge, which was while I was disconnected from Kongregate, and now my rating is 1/5 instead of 4/5 when I played it for fun once before this badge was made. F4k it.

Alsom as you will see in the evasion challenge (#2) if a bot hits a wall or obstacle it gets all manner of confused. So the cardinal rules are don't let your bots hit anything and don't let them reach destinations. In career mode, you CAN use "follow target" command, but only if your weapon has little or no minimum range.
Updated to 5 stars. Once you understand how the AI works, it really is a well-done game. Just difficult when precise moves need to be made to simultaneous bots.

Beat the career, now stuck on 4th challenge. A few things I've learned: 1) due some challenges first, esp Evasion. you learn a LOT about AI. 2) In 4th Challenge, DRAGON has min range - if the shield gets too close it will change targets to the sword... both must be kept about the same distance from the dragon - the dragon DOES attack the shield over the sword but it cannot be too far or too close. Very difficult to juggle.
When managing one bot, it is apparent the AI is decent, but need constant input. If you leave a bot to get to the destination, it either wanders or attempts to fight on its own - often in futility. CONSTANTLY direct bots and don't let them reach their destinations.

The game is fun despite the indescribably horrible controls. Career mode is reasonably easy to beat, but several of the challenges are virtually impossible with no control over your bots.

The career mode is fun and relaxing. The challenge mode is improperly balanced. In a properly balanced training/challenge mission you should easily win if you get the point and always loose if you can't figure out a good strategy. In these missions you have to keep at it for so long, even after gaining a big advantage through proper strategy, that you will inevitably slip up and loose. It would work much better and be more fun if the enemy simply had less armour.

after playing this game a few more times through....my rating has actually dropped. The challenges are either completely random or completely stupid, the AI and movement controls in this game are absolutely hideous

OMG!!! this game is soooo annoying!! i've beaten it its not impossible...
but WTF are the robots so stupid??????? and even when you give them commands... they hardly ever comply with them!!! and why isn't there a "stand ground" option???????????????? so the damn things can stay still and shoot!!
