I think challenge mode sucks because it is very difficult just to stay alive...
Career Mode is way more easier than challenge mode. The AI usually sucks because they are usually inferior to you in terms of armor and weapons in Career Mode. They move around and around without purpose and strategy until they find and shoot you, they are mentally retarded and have no battle tactics.
Overall this game is good except for some annoying things in the game.

The game is fun... but the bot AI is incredibly retarded.. what the fuck are they doing. And also the fourth challenge is incredibly hard. very easy game to beat

This is a pretty cool game. The bots were a little hard to control when you try to manually control more than one of them. The bots seem to wander aimlessly a little too much rather than going after the enemies (yes, I'm aware I could have the bots follow an enemy). I really liked the career mode of this game. It was challenging but not so hard that I was frustrated. The challenges were also good and playing them was helpful for career mode. The challenges should have been in order of difficulty (I realize different ones are hardest for different people but the developer could have taken their best shot at it). It would have been nice to be able to keep more than five bots at a time in case I wanted to go back and fight in earlier battles without having to sell and rebuy the cheaper equipment. 4/5

Challange 4 sucks. If either Sword wouldn't be a dumbass to go around Shield, or if Shield would go and stay where I send it... The challenge itself is not about strategy - it's all about overcoming the damn controls.

I would just like to add yet again that any game developer who wants to ruin a great game by overestimating how good there controls are just has to play challenge four a couple of times.

Needs a reset button, at least for the challenge mode. Having your Sword killed in challenge #4 and waiting for the Shield to die takes too long

For those having trouble with challenge 4, I used the actic of having the shield follow the sword, then treating it as an avoidance mission. You just need to to remember to keep control of the sword at all times, don’t let it run off on its own or it will dash at the dragon and get murderised. And to avoid getting stuck at the beginning, leave it for a second to allow the shield to move right, then move the sword around to the left of the shield.

Control is too random for challenge mode. If I move a bot away from the opponent, I want it to move away, not towards. Especially when the enemy bots are 4 hammer bots.

To beat challenge 4 I put the sword on follow on the shield, and kept the shield between the dragon and the sword, while keeping the shield outside the dragon's minimum firing radius. You may have to move the sword sometimes to get it farther from the dragon than the shield. The time I beat it I spent most of the time chasing after the dragon with the shield with the sword following the shield, and able to fire.

4th Challenge is horrrible. THe controls make me want to rip my hair out in frustration. It is IMPOSSIBLE for you to control the bots the way you want to. At the very least there should be a Stop command. The sword either runs into the line of fire without protection, or the shield rams up against the dragon, inside of his firing range. u_u;;;

Oh yeah and AI tweeking for the player would be sweet. Like Prodigy said, maintain X distance or stay out of range and more. Maybe the AI tweeks come with the new chassis you acquire?

As a game, Bots Arena shows it's weakness when a comparison is made between the Career mode and the Challenge mode. The career mode, while mentioning tactics, is a completely strategic game. I never once had to maneuver my bots to win the Career mode. The Challenge mode, while mentioning 'strategy' in the opening credits, provides very little strategy and a painful tactical challenge with the extremely limited controls available to the player when it comes to controlling bots. In terms of UI in the bot planning arena, I would give the game a 4 out of 5. However, when it comes to execution of the game, I give it 2 out of 5. Sorry, there just isn't a real game here. (And I'm sorely annoyed that one of my badges must be earned by playing the aggravating challenges.)

I've got an idea to make this game not suck so much: make the challengers way shorter. They're boring and can take a good 10 minutes each.

Finer AI control, like "Maintain X distance" or "Stay out of range" would be nice. Especially with the sword and shield challenge, It's hard to keep the shield outside the minimum range and keep your sword from being stupid, because the normal AI for each isn't good enough.

I really enjoyed the career. The challenges suck, though. The method of controlling the bots is definitely not set up for the fine controls needed for the challenges.

It stonewalls at the 4th challenge and having to complete the same mission over and over again with no end in sight really kills it for me. I get incredibly bored before too long. I mean..with 15k money you'd think I would be able to get better weapons to beat the 4th challenge, they hit harder than mine do.

I have no idea how you're supposed to beat the 4th challenge. It's seemingly impossible to control the robots, plus the enemy just attacks the swordbot any time he's within range, ignoring the shieldbot. Otherwise good game.

Either make the ai better or much worse. The AI right now makes half the challenged wayyyyyy to hard. This FLAW makes the game suck.
