Fun game. I wish Mike Gravel was included though. It is also irritating when people leave the game just before they lose.

just make it so that one team starts on one side and the other starts on the other and non-hatchets will be less vulnerable

Great game, your strategy and skill is far more important than picking the right staff, so I dont find balancing them that important. Some starting positions are kind of impossible to win from though, if you opponent knows what he is doing. And too many bugs still. I want to give this game 5/5 but as it needs further work on the bugs I'll give it 1/5 until it works properly every run.

Yeah, playing real people is much harder, but still. I played several games, made some pretty easy mistakes (like lining-up near the opponent candidate), and even started with worse positions (the other player gained a state per turn, all together, making it too difficult to divide and kill), but still, all won, just the hatchetmen were too tough. The next best seem the spinmeister. But if the starting positions are not good, all non-hatchet are too vulnerable, and this will probably lead to quick defeat.

There's definitely some balance tweaking to be done regarding some of the starting positions. May consider picking starts, but I don't want a protracted set up phase.
I have some AI improvements in the works, but the real challenge is always going to be multiplayer. You'll find 3 hatchets less of a killer strat against another person who knows what they are doing.
And yah, the game is AS3/Flash 9, so I have to wait until Kongregate releases their AS3 API to connect with it.

Way too easy cause of misbalancing: I get 3 hatchermen and eliminate them all, one by one. I even trapped the opponent candidate from all sides and the game hardly lasted 5 turns. (AI may need some work too, he had the money to do a flag attack and repel all the attackers, yet did not, and lose).

apoligies for the harsh words.. i just lost to my girlfriend :| .. the shame. But really, you need to work on balance. Opbtaining the lands on the left are much easier than getting the ones on the right due to starting positions (and the fact that the land is uneven. If you could PLACE your people.. that would fix that. Considering risk does the same thing.

this game has major flaws. Totally uneven gameplay. The person who goes first always wins. Its a really drawn out TicTacToe. 1/5. learn to balance, my god...youre a game designer for christs sake

Me no like it. =(1/5. I donlt like politics and stuff like that so me no like, no offense though.Work on the lagging too maybe?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Working on the lag/loading issues. Need some help from Kongregate support unfortunately to get everything posted, so it might be a bit.

some bugs to fix: play again still reloads the game in multiplayer. Sometimes multiplayer games dont start, it gets to the "combat landscape" but no troops are deployed. Sounds are playing without any connection to the game at some points, maybe when several sounds are supposed to be played at the same time but instead they play after each other.

Rezistik - Paul and Kucinish have no chance of winning - just accept that you will be stuck with a Repub for the next 8 years!

I know you are trying to save time, but ron paul and dennis kucinich are climbing in the polls and winning debates..It cant be that hard to add them to the game

great game. I think givening special skills to each candidate would really give more depth to the game. Some satirical special power for each person maybe. Also, I think more staff members would be good. perhaps start with 4 and a max of 6 or something.
