Could someone please tell me what the mastery skill Prowess does? It says it gives fighting skill points, but I see no change at all?

After leaving for a long time, my disciple level up lots of time, OK that's idle :)
But after this he gains xp so slowly the time he levels up enemies that it's frustrating. I love tournaments system and the fact that tournaments helps to level up enemies in early levels. It's a shame tournaments disappeared after level 100... A tournaments system after level 100 would be great! Even without rank bonus or anything special, just to help level up enemies faster and to have the tension of "please don't loose by mistake or I will have to wait 30min" :)

Since being offline is a major part of this game, why not create a game mode where you can semi-offline. For example, when you click that mode, you get up to 100% of the offline bonuses but in return, you can't click or made any changes to the game setting until "offline" mode is done. If you offline mode for real while the fake offline is running, you get 50% more offline bonus. If you interrupt offline mode before it expires, you get 80% or something instead of the full effect.

This game is a work of art in the making. I would suggest finding some music to add to the game. Finding and/or making a soundtrack that meshes well with the game can be quite hard, but very much worth while in the end.

It seems like this game was made to be turned off for extended periods of time so that, when you come back to the game, your character is overpowered instead of under-powered.

Is it just me or is it weird how Platinum basically doesn't intersect with the base game at all. You don't gain it in fights, and you don't lose it on resets, it is just there ticking up. It would be kind of cool if you got a small amount of it in tournaments or something.

@josh, it sounds like you've spread your character way too thin. By 120's you should have max points in what you need for your build (generally basic stat[s], equip style, stance, and trait[speed, power, focus] that complement each other) and then distribute the rest of your points into lower priority specs. Of course, don't forget to upgrade your master and equipment.

There are no character builds or actual advice on the forums.
It would actually help to get builds for certain stages of the game. Josh is correct for reaching out, cause otherwise you're just distributing random points all over the place and not knowing what you're doing.

@Josh look at the forums as you're clearly doing something wrong. I beat my first rival in the 120s and got the last rival star in the 180s.

Was I wrong for playing? or simply wrong for asking for help? I don't see why my issues with an end game system translate to being downvoted as if I were attacking the game. I played this since it came out and after I got stuck I reached out. Im elated to have gotten a response but I guess I learned a lesson about not seeking assistance when I have a problem. I appreciate the Developer taking the time to reply to me and I am sorry if I offended anyone.

After testing a bit more I found out that it isn't the win ability that makes sword and shield+guard so bad. It's the time this combo needs to finish a fight, giving much less than a fast takedown build. You can still get 2% attack on red enemies a bit past 180-the last big jump. What you can't get is high EXP.(btw: Crit is 48% on that build!)

Gotta say, I beat the game but never beat a rival. Having to quit because it's not fun to grind X amount of hours just to "complete" the game's rivals when ive already gotten all skills over 10 (I know they can go higher but scrolls and master skills are maxed at 10 and 5 in everything even strategist and offline exp/offline gold gain) if i need 15 everything and to be lvl 200+ for the first rival, will i be able to beat the final rival this year? or will i need to convince future generations to take up the torch and continue grinding, that maybe, someday, someone might defeat the immortal grand master greg.
Its different for everyone and depends on how much time you are active but it should only take a few days to a week to complete the game, including all of the rivals. Its hard to say what you might be doing wrong without seeing what you have for fighting skills and what mastery skills you have chosen.

Rival System is broken, im 11 in everything, masters maxed out on skills and all scrolls maxed, level 140 with level 25-30 equipment, and still die in two hits from very first rival? Am i expected to play this for 5000+ hours to beat rivals? the rest of the game has become very tedious/ i just want to finish a rival after nearly two weeks of playing. I love this game not bashing it, just curious, WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO PROGRESS? (forge is lvl 5) is there some dramatic way to improve that ive missed entirely?

You removed the profit margin on items in favor of an increased gold percentage, but the gold percentage increase is nowhere near enough. At level 196, my opponents who are level 190 do anywhere from 2x to 25x the damage I do, depending on what weapon or style I'm using. And this is with all damage boosting stats maxed out.

Also noticed that, if youre on a training level below the tournament level you finished, it will automatically open up the furthest level you faced during the tourney, not sure if it was meant to be

Great game, although I'd have to agree with other users on the defensive stance being entirely useless. Maybe it was because I didn't spend any training on extra stam, but I would start lvl 54 duels as a 56 with defensive stance and end up drained at the same time as the opponent leaving me again, entirely unable to attack. While starting the fight with offensive stance actually gives me a chance to win the duel.

The game is really good. The animations are well designed, there is a lot of content, and so much stuff to do. One thing I do want is more things to equip. Maybe swords with special effects or just more damage? But the game is still really good. I don't see a lot of game developers like you who update their game frequently.

The Master Blacksmith award doesn't seem to be working for me. Can it not be done with the starting sword, shield, and armor?

I've noticed that for the last couple days, my offline scroll research hasn't been working properly. For example, just now I logged in and had 1 hour 38 minutes left on one, and when I loaded the save file I created immediately before quitting, it went down to like 50 minutes...
Yeah something strange is going on, I tested yesterday and it worked fine but tested again this morning and it didn't work. I will look into it some more.
Update: Found the problem - Innovation's 18 star bonus isn't calculated correctly unless you are on the Mastery Menu when you load the game. I fixed it but I won't be able to upload the new version until the end of the week.

It looks like the way attacks work is that every X period of time there's a roll between the two combatants to see who attacks, and the odds are based on their relative Attack values. I'm not sure what Attack speed does, since it seems like there isn't a way for the two fighters to actually attack at different speeds.
The speed of the animations do change in real time based upon the attacker's attack speed. It has no affect on fights except to speed them up or slow them down (which affects how much exp/gold you can earn over time as well as the Top-8 Duels times.)

will you please put a notifier which side is left. That sihlouette could be facing toward or away from us. Thanks. Some equipment is left / right handed and its hard to tell which is which.

It's really nice, although I kind of wish there was a way to auto-switch stances based on what your opponent is using.

Considering this is a game where mindless clicking can be involved at times, maybe you could make it that the popups don't close automatically on any click, because I've missed a couple because of that :

This is dumb... I have a level 150 character, working on my double handed/power build, all relevant skills level 10+ and after the recent changes I have problems fighting level 110 enemies that I should be plowing through.

Blitz damage malus doesn't reduce the damage on crits (it's still 20% total health + (base damage x blitz malus) (if i'm not wrong), and the speed combo chance emphasize really well with crits (several little hits which can crit).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
With blitz lvl 1 you'll miss way more and have less attack in blitz stance, which means more chance to get hit (because hitting means the ennemy will lose more stamina based on damage, and low attack bonus will ennemy the first moves) so you'll loose health so stamina and loose the duel (each % health loss decrease total stamina by the same %). But with blitz maxed, you'll have better attack stat and hit, so better chance to attack first and hitting enemy, reducing his stamina a bit, or a lot if you roll a critic. With last update, it's way harder to get high lvl weapons so critic become even more relevent early game. When your base damage is 10k (for exemple) and your critics deals 250k damage, you don't really care to loose some % damage on your base attack.
But the stats boost of the blitz skill give you way more chance to win the duel.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
it isn't weaker, base damage doesn't really matter, stats and crit are way more important (especially late game). If you cannot attack because your attack stat is too low or cannot hit because your hit stat is too low, having +10000% damage or -25% (blitz lvl 20) is the same. And blitz increase chance to proc speed which can make huge damage with critics (can OS with nice luck)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@scarfang it's nothing to do with crits, a skill should get stronger when leveled up, not confusing ppl if it is weaker, anyway it's a bad experience

Dude if this game was actually in 3D, that would be so awesome. The UI can stay the same but the models in 3D would be cool.

No, the Rapier nerf was not bad. While before i used two Rapiers for max crit (60%), I can now use a Rapier and a Claymore with a crit of (44%) BUT only needing 4 crits to kill someone instead of 5. This is a huge advantage, and worth putting 20 str into so you don't run out of stamina. This game rewards thinking smarter
