Is it just me or does this Perfect Balance game seem more gimmick driven? It seems like the developer is moving away from challenging puzzles and toward 'who can make the most points'.

300 Diamonds badge is only hard because of the time it takes im guessing.
Game is alright but there are many other games like it, plus the physics aren't too great.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
easy enough...by the way u just gotta use some tech....if u think you damn suck go look in youtube.
And by the way,i got 113 diamonds outta the 300....seriously its a endurance badge!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
hard and by the way...rotwang2 is giving 1/5 only cuz he can't put all the rubies together in lvl 2...sheesh!my rating though is 4/5

theres something i dont really understand about kongregate... why do they put hard badges on games that have video tutorials? isnt it 80 points given??
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yes, you can, I just did, actually. You just have to think a little bit, which is obviously too hard for rotwang. To quote: "From then I just had to ignore rubies (otherwise how do I know when to stop trying to put them down?)" Seriously, it's like he wants all the levels to be set up for all nine diamonds. In which case it wouldn't even be a game... just free points. No real gamer complains that it's to hard because you have to think. Now I understand how you get frustrated, Ttursas.

And besides that, you can easily put 4 diamonds on level two. And seriously, you can't even LOOK at a level to decide where to put diamonds???? It's easy enough to tell whether or not you can place diamonds!! Don't be such a lazy noob.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Hahaha, Rotwang, that's the most ridiculous comment ever. If you loved the other perfect balance games, which didn't have the diamonds, why does it matter whether you can't place them on ONE level. Personally, I found the 300 diamonds badge to be quite easy, but that shouldn't affect your rating. If you don't use those, it's exactly like the other perfect balance game... meaning the rating should be the same.

Why don't you get bonus point for every placed item at the end? now you can max your points by waiting till things settle. In almost every case you'll come out with more points than when you just keep dumping objects in safe places without waiting for them to settle.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
ridiculously imprecise and unclear- it's as if you make up the physics as you go along. Sometimes you can balance a circle on another circle, etc, completely ridiculous

Ttursas, Juicehead means the entire game was easy, not just the easy tut.
Mine hasn't loaded yet, so I guess I'll see
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
juicehead, if you go and read any game design book it reads that make the first puzzle / level easy. Make it a tutorial level.

As soon as I saw that there was no way to get all the rubies down in level 2, (not even in the walthrough), it completely ruined the game. From then I just had to ignore rubies (otherwise how do I know when to stop trying to put them down?) And then the game was too easy. I LOVED the other perfect balance games, they're 5/5's but this is 1/5, sucks.

This game, just like the first one, drowns and suffocates in the mediocrity of all the little 2d-physics engine games out there...utterly unremarkable. 2/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
one of the worst of its kind, IF it didnt have the diamonds section. its incredibly easy to solve the initial puzzle, the real challenge is attempting to shove as many little circles in as possible. only 3/5 but still, 3.5 id say. good couldve been better

Extremely sensitive -- I didn't like that. More friction would have been good, and if they were going to make it require "perfection," they should have at least made the horizontal surfaces they gave us perfectly flat.

I can't submit my score and have no idea why, I'm using firefox on a mac - do any of you think that could have something to do with it?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The walkthrough is far from optimal, I might add; I have gotten 107 diamonds on just Level Pack A, whereas the walkthrough gives you a mere 63. A lot of its set ups are far from optimal.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
glitch! in pack b if you put the big circle in the opening, then the T piece wedged in, they start charging and then super shoot to the left of the screen (like a gun!)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
pretty easy for the number of points, a single hard badge would've been fine or dramatically increasing the number of required diamonds. 300 was really a medium badge difficulty
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Rofl, some how in level 14 with the snow man, I got the triangle to fit in between the biggest circle and the circle in the middle inside of the gap.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
17 levels, 6 level skips left. (3 levels in D, 14 in E... S scores on A and B, B score on C...) Can't wait for that hard badge!!

Yup guys! Hairy43, you get +50 for middle balances. It's because in earlier Perfect Balance games people just tried to drop everything very fast and hope that the result would stabilize. Here we want to reward you for keeping the pile stable as much as possible. ;) More stable more often is better...
