What weapon is better? Slower with more damage or faster with less damage (I have a fast gun that hits only 1600, it has lower than 20 attack on the gun... Should I get a slower but stronger weapon?)

im pretty sure the update that made enemies get knocked back farther from hitting you was supposed to be helpful, but all it does is give the enemy more time to heal. Example: I was fighting an angry bird and it was almost dead, but it got knocked so far, it had enough time to fully heal. Problem? HELL YES!
