I don't know what it is about this series. I want to like it. The quality is excellent. The artwork is excellent. Everything looks like it should be fun... but I can't get into it. I get very bored. I guess I'm just too much of a Gemcraft fan, who knows...

Just like the recent incarnations of this series it has way too slow progression to be really good. Decent work with the rest though.

There's a bug in that even if you have 26 logistics and an archmage costs 74 gold and you have 75 gold you still can't buy an archmage until after you've bought a trainee

ive noticed that many are complaining about the big screen press f11 (4 windows) to make it go fullscreen............rate up so every one can read this

Good game but I have one complaint. My footmen will sometimes just stand there and let all the enemies past without attacking which often makes me lose the battle :(
If that could be solved it would be great.

Awesome game. Investor Talent: Stupid. I payed 2k for it and I get +5gp after every won quest? That means it takes 200 quests to just pay for itself. Probably crippled my char now. Makes now sense.

Oh My God i f****** love this game. One small complaint the gameplay area or whatever it's called is too big for the screen

some improvements needed: add stars to chars so i know how many times they are upgraded...show range...show stats when placing char

Protector IV isn't a no-brainer, I know the game may be hard for some people, but it can be fun at the same time. Here's a tip, build lots and lots of 'towers' if you think there's gonna be a huge wave, it worked for me in the hard but early stages, also, pay attention to the recommended elements, it's a lot easier if you have a good set of 'towers' =]

i dont know what im doing wrong but i can never easily win a map on any of the protector games. :( 3/5 still boring not much difference to a normal tower defense

A sell unit, or Stop attacking would be handy if you have lots of energy elementals and the boss is strong energy and absorb.

weird that in the stats tab there is " Time Wasted " sir, THIS game is NOT a waste of time its a perfect game its like 3 and the pet protector in 1 !!!! each of these games alone are AWESOME but this one is a MASTERPIECE !

I'm very impressed with the huge jump from the problems of protector 3 to this. 5/5 from me, you definitely earned it.

A very good concept transformed into a wonderful game. My pet protector combined with the great TD concept. I hope the next Protector will be even greater. Congratulations for this fantastic game. 5/5

ouch, just updated the flash player, now my saved gamed has gone... anyway, i had a certain dislike for the previous protector games, but this is certainly a step ahead in combining TD and RPG. Still there are some minor aspects, that could be improved. one thing i come across, i found it impossible to use the middle upgrade tree. no matter in which order i choose the two in the second column, i be forced then to pick the upper or lower row...
still 5/5 and fav.
separate sound and music mute.

i hate games with lots of fancy things to explore. they keep me hooked for a long time. then my rl gets ruined, again.

Theres a bug in the game where you click a story quest you already have completed and let the scroll with the quest appear and then closes the scroll. When you open the quest scroll again it will reduce the gold you can get from it by half even if you didnt accept the quest.

So much potential... I'm sure it gets fun eventually. Starts off pretty "meh" though, just don't have the attention span to play through the levels to find decent heros. Would be nice if you had some choices to begin with instead of being railroaded through everything. 3/5

Some of the monsters seem to ramp up in toughness then go Immediately back down the next wave. Being limited to the element types you can have kills this game. Stop changing the skills on us.

So, I actually really like the Protector games, and I gave it 5/5, but just to provide a bit of constructive criticism: The game always frustrated me a little because you can never really max out stuff. Its great that you don't need to in order to play, but I wish there were a viable alternative playstyle.
The way it is now, you have to play for a reaaaally long time to get your hero's stats decently high, because there are like 20 stats to level and it takes forever to get one point once you have played for a bit.
In a game a player wants to feel the satisfaction of getting noticeably stronger, all I'm saying is that it would be nice if you could do that at some point or in some way in Protector. I like the balance of leveling units vs leveling them, I'm not saying change that, I'm saying change the way the upgrading system works so it -feels- like you are doing more? Maybe its not possible to balance that, but hey, just an idea.

Considering how vital knowing the pattern of a particular mission is to beating it, it seems a little cheap to have non-story missions vanish after failing them once. What's that? You brought two melee-heavy heroes to a mission (in the name of elemental diversity, or to cover the "weakness" of that stage), and it turns out half of the waves flying? Too bad!
Other than that gripe though, it's a pretty good continuation of the Protector series.
