(Comment Part 2) It's not bad, don't get me wrong. It's just that I kinda prefer the original. It seemed like a good challenge (believe me; beating some of those levels took me countless tries), but this one to me feels...a little beyond a good challenge (as in, pushing it a BIT too far).
Now, I'm sure it can probably be explained by me not having...fully adjusted...to the new system. Old-fashioned as I am, I'm not used to having as many options as I do now, so I'm sure the reason I can only beat 4 maps is due to me not having fully fit in.
Very good game. (Just not so much for me.)
Now, believe me, I think this game is actually the most addicting of the three, BECAUSE of how hard it is right now. ;)

(Comment Part 1) I have determined that this game is many times more difficult to a veteran player of the original Protector (as well as "Defender"). The original?
A few days, maybe a week maximum to defeat it (it says 50 hours wasted, so yea). This one? Same time (okay, not wasted, but it's been that number of days), and I have barely gotten a few maps in and I am experiencing trouble y'know, actually WINNING. Four Easy Maps, then Easy Marathon, Three Mediums, and a Medium Marathon--the main island. The island on the lower left? Three Medium, two Hard.
This game?
About the same. Only, instead of starting at the top (like the original), we're at the bottom, which feels...strange. Also, I enjoyed Dexters only having two options: general and special (critical). Now they have four specials to worry about, and can choose their element. Instead of having to place mages down of each element, it's just elementless mages who gain an element.

@Kame: lol. 1. This game came first. 2, It's by THE SAME FREAKING PEOPLE! They're allowed to copy images from their own work.

yo that medium badge is harder than I thought. 1 life. harsh. but mad xp and gold on that map, tip for you guys: everything cept for the last guy is weak to poison, and strong against energy, buy the last guy is weak against energy, and absorbs poison, so just make everybody energy.

really like this game..but i hate those flyin ones..in some levels ya have to build mages first so you´re able to upgrade them soon enough to catch those flyins :(

You get "Badges Badges Mushroom Mushroom Badge" only when you really do not lose a single live! If you need more skill points use life increase skills to pass the level but then you do not get the badge.

The game is really good. Every tower defense type game fan will love it for sure. The 3 skill tree idea is pretty good, I like the way you have to spend some time figuring out what kind of skill set will be good for the next map. This game can really be a challange sometimes. I know that Protector 3 was already finished and is on kongregate since long time ago. However, I find this version of the game beter :). I don't know why but it's harder and I like the skill system here much more. Keep up the good work! I hope there will be more to this series. Found it really addicting since my laptop is broken and this PC can't run most of the games :). Good time waster =3 5/5.

I actualy liked the first one more due to seeing the enemy's str over seeing the enemys weakness on the bar at the bottom and being able to make new mages that can do something to any mob not just mobs with low armour.................and being able to start with elemts and not have to lvl up first....................

It uses the same pics across all the protector games, they're done by the same group and set in the same universe. It's not a stretch..
