Marathons take entirely to long to beat and cause extreme lag. I have to play on low quality when I do a marathon. It makes me sad...

i beat lighthouse, you just need to start with 2 energy mages at front, and 3 fire and ice mages in middle. that should work a few waves, and you may add dexers and poison guys as you see fit

I just wanna remind people having trouble with marathons that upgrading your units and placing advanced units is a bad idea. Most of the time placing a new mage is a better idea than upgrading an existing one. The only time you should think about upgrading is when you run out of free tiles and most pave your own, but even then going for more than 2 upgrades is inefficient.

For anyone having trouble, try one of these. Get nothing but fire mage and ice mage upgrades. Then use nothing but those two mages. Or you can go into the level see what the majority of the enemies weakness are and then end the level and distribute skill points accordingly.

Ah, so 20 minutes after giving up trying to get the badge, it appears while I'm playing a different game. The lag demons must have been holding it prisoner.

I am also badgeless with all maps completed, and the API says I have finished 22. Tell me which map you think I haven't finished!

I keep reading how people are having probs with the badges...FYI...All the badges I have gone for have worked out exactly the way they say they will.....

I don't understand. I've beaten every map, and even the game says 23 completed, but Kongregate only says 22. Most of the other badges seem to be bugged, as well.

nice game, i finished...if your having trouble, the skills tab in top left is kinda important, for mazes, use mages! green, purple then later on red

Kazuth, you know where your map is? look at the top of the page and click on the skills tab.
Once in this menu, the top left hand section of skill upgrades is what you are looking for. You need to upgrade two (both top and bottom) before you get your special unit. Try reading the pop up ready thingy when you put your mouse over the upgrade...

to unlock special units, you need to beat at least 2 levels and then spend the points from those levels into the associated special unit

hmm, read 15 pages of comments, dunno if i missed the answer so gonna ask again:
how do you unlock the special units, i havent found in in the protectopedia.
Maybe i need a clearer brain as its late & that makes me miss vital info :)
anyway, hopefully tomorrow i have the answer, thanks whoever helps

The game is fun but I think the advanced units are a bit too expensive and the basic ones are the same, it's a bitch when you don't have a good strategy and it is sometimes hard to come up with one too.
Other then that, great game.

NAD, if you don't like the game tell someone why. If you sit and complain about how you hate the game thats not going to help your situation now is it?
