And those guys who say it's slow its your computer but a "skip" would be excellent for enemy turns and also the only thing i noticed was you can't put ground troops underneath air troops

Great tribute to advance wars, although the amount of money gained each turn was a bit over-complicated. Also, to freshadow, that's not a glitch, it's a legitimate tactic.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@freshadow: that isnt a glitch. you just can have two units on the same square, so try using that to your advantage by doing that to them
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
very annoying glitch: if an enemy unit covers your warfactory you can't make units, and if you don't have anything that can take it out you're basically dead after playing for half an hour.

@Muurahaiskarhu Copyrights extend to graphics, script, sound effects and code. The game is inspired by Advance Wars, just like Desktop Tower Defense is inspired from Tower Defense in Warcraft III.

Ever heard of copyrights? I´m glad you like Advance Wars, but this is completely stealing, basically every unit, piece of land and most building are the same... :( Still, have to give it 4/5 cause´ it´s a good copy! :D

Extremely slow. Even after the computer has finished moving it stays frozen for about a minute before passing control to me.

i loved advanced wars and this is gd too...only problem i have with the game is that the ai is trying to take on my fighters by send infantry and tanks...

Finally made it through the whole game, and I have to say it was really enjoyable. Easy to learn, quick to master, and very repeatable in it's own right. My only things about it are that upgrades would be a great touch for a sequel, as would a "take back move" ability. That, and toss in more than ten levels. ;)

Awsome game.I have a few SUGGESTIONS!You should be able to have another unit in the AIRCRAFT tile...a land/water unit. Also add submersibles and landmines.Like you can have a submersible a boat and aircraft in the same water tile.Tanks shouldnt be blocked by stupid infantry.Like you should squash them, unless the are in the forrest. Then again, rifle guy should be less efficient against vehicle, and bazooka guy should be MORE.A sniper (ranged)soldier would be cool, against infantry. With a better defense in mountains or hills, and less damage in forrest. But sniper guy useless against vehicles.

Kept me entertained for a few hours anyways. The computer AI was a bit dumb, but that made up for the completely unbalanced maps. If the AI had not been limited, I don't think the last two or three maps are actually winnable.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
AI's not terrible, but occasionally, on the bonus map, just loads up infantry in balloons which never land. It's like the troops wanted to go sightseeing, or maybe are desperately fleeing the horrors of war.

A great game! urbansquall, I salute you! On a related note: lanlanlan you may want to re-read the description, cause urbansquall is lauding Advance Wars. The difference was to promote a faster, more aggressive style of play which suits flash games rather well. So props to urbansquall, and down lanlanlan.

Problem: I saved my game on like lvl 9 and quit. Today I cam back and started playing the bonu map, then decided to quit and play the compaign. When I quit without saving it seems to have deleted all my saved data. Even the missions I beat I can select anything but mission 1, unless this is due to the recent updates. Either way I feel like I waste a ton of time playing this, since I now have to badicly start over and I was on mission 9 or 10 when I saved and quit. ~dragon~

.-5 for 1 phase combat
-.5 for waiting after enemy turn
-1 for not being original - honestly, not that different from AW
+6 for being fun

thebobking, i agree fire emblem is better, but yes the battleships are suppose to be just like the rocket launchers in that they cant atk and move (i dont no y but it more strategic that way)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Not bad, but far too limited in the aspects of strategy. It's more or less "the biggest guns win" instead of the better tactics. A bigger variety of troops, rather than progressively stronger ones, would be a better direction, in my opinion.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Okay... a couple things.
1)AW is NOT the best tactical RPG out there. That award has to go to Fire Emblem.
2) I think that moving should be two "phases". One for actually moving(first, you can choose not to move) and one for attacking. I find myself accidentally not attacking the enemy too many times (maybe 'cuz I play FE more :), oh well). The two-phase movement also makes it possibleto move battleships around (they were obviously supposed to move and attack on the same turn. Or at least that's what it looks like) and then attack. Otherwise, it won't respond to my move because I need to move and attack at the same time.
Overall, 5/5, -1 for one-phase movements. Total: 4/5

A lot of times after the computer has moved all of its units it takes a long time for it to move on to my turn. That would definitely be nice to have fixed.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Only problem is the enemy doesn't really fight back after their initial units. So it's more of a survival the attack type of game.
