Strategy was a shitload of palisades, mines (though not as many as you), snipers, and constant artillery. (This is after the final assault began; before that it was just gunner-based mayhem)

Mongull, I'm going to have to steal your thunder right now. Two days ago, I spent nine hours getting to wave 1337 and then quit right then just to have my high score as that. I don't know why it isn't showing up, but you can ask anyone in Awesomesauce Extreme, who were receiving, unwillingly, a play-by-play.

damn i went to wave 167 and4 freaking flankingpanzers came!! i had 4 tanks,5specops,3engineers,2sig,1officer,14medics damn it took me so long to get stuff.

By the way, the first 100 waves are the major hurdle in the game; once the final assault begins the computer will adjust the level of difficulty to match how many units you have on the screen. Since I tend to only have 5 or less, it will send mostly infantry, and only about 5-6 per taunt.

I'm going to try and revise and optimize my strategy for Wave 500+ games; I just realized you don't need to buy snipers. Using the deploy option where you get 12 TP, I bought 3 engineers. With the free officer due to having Westpoint, I managed to get to wave 150 using only those four troops. It involves an insane amount of micro-management though... =( I'm going to see if it is reproducible using only two engineers.

keep an aye out for any ballestic soldiers
you meet they can attack form a long ragne so make sure when you see a mortar slit up your squad for minimum damage

Sitrep is really usless out of 25 times i get 2 its a waste and one point at a time eventully is a down fall at least make the chance of sitrep working 25%
