diminican, they will eventually start eachother on fire because some time or another a panzergrenadier(its always them it seems)will run into your guys and start them on fire. not good when you have 5-6 soldiers running around on fire lighting eachother on fire. i once caught an entire bunker on fire and all my tropps then caught on fire. including my jeep gunner. sad.

grenades seem to do sometimes way too much damage, i mean like clearing an entire trench, killing a few guys near the trench and destroying a sandbag. I mean holy crap

When the gunners died, I palisaded the bunker meaning nobody could shoot at anything inside of it, grenades would be harmless, and the only danger was from Close Combat; easily avoided by laying down a mine in front of it if it looked like a soldier was walking towards you.

In fact, the only really useful unit (as in, can still kill enemy soldiers without dying) is a 100XP sniper placed above grenade-damage range (i.e. put him in top third of the map). I had two of those for a while but I couldn't move them to the top because my minefield was blocking them. They died from a Panzergrenadier blitz.

At that point just an officer and two engineers (one got frozen in Close Combat, so I had to buy another mobile one to reset the minefield). Up until wave 500 or so, it did have two gunners, but it's too expensive to keep using Heroism on them because past a certain point the enemy becomes extremely deadly if they get a line of sight on you.

i think that a frenchie shuld start whit shotgun not whit springfield how in **** could a frenchie get USA and Allied main wepon on first world war shotggun it,s little more rebelion i think

whan i went away on wave 7 with a empty bunker 2 trenchs 4 soldiers 1 bazoooka and 1 engineer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Final result, Wave 1084 (in-game it said 1110 but because of DETAILED ORDERS the actual score was decreased). I think I'm going to take a break for a bit, happy hunting all~

Finally proved that with the palisade strategy you can break 1000. After five hours of intense micromanaging, I also got the Victoria Cross from the game (I only needed 300 more waves to get it... I kind of overshot). ^ ^

If your squad has 6 men or less the enemy won't use artillery or planes on you and your squad can have more men under camo nets and they wont artillery you but watch out for those scouts

Strategy:
3 wires lined up from the right to the left then some sandbags. 1 more wire after that then a bunker and a palaside wall. Put a trench behind the first 3 wires. Then put 2 rifle men in there. But a machine gunner in the bunker and one at the sandbags. Place a sniper on the palaside. And fill the area with whoever you want to fill it with.

Seems like so much depends on the battlefield you get ... My best game so far was 97 levels, I never built any defenses, but had a huge tree horizontal at the bottom of the screen, I got 2 MG's and 2 bazzookas and a medic behind it ... awesome.
