Be careful with Magic Items - a penknife with +150 damage is stronger than a zweihander. Also +87 field plate does no good if the dagger in your backpack has -99% defensive magic.
An easy way to cause 500 damage is to equip 2+ "Crushing" magic items (+100-300 dmg but no crits).
I found it easiest to use a bow & horseback since the interface is appalling.
Buy tons of reserves and mix missile & melee units - most of the time you won't lose any, but once your units start to die (e.g. your pikemen got firebombed, or the enemy is resistant to bows) they go down in hordes. If you put a distinctive unit (e.g. cavalry) every fourth reserve, you can tell how fast your units are dying...
Once you capture a capital city and recruit strong units, the rest is a blowout.

With 200 Int, 100 Patriotism, and 100 Art of War, troops from your own cities have 350% hp/damage, and troops from other cities have 250% hp/damage. So yeah, at that point you can pretty much steamroll everything in your way.

Why? Because all you do, is load all your stats into intelligence and art of war and patriotism. Why should I do that you ask?
Because the human controls are terrible, and my AI controlled army fights way better than I ever will. Easy win to just stand there.
Also, I usually trigger it every time I play it, but somehow you get stuck as you die on a castle town, and your army keeps fighting anyway, and you end up with infinite gold and exp.
Remove option for player controlled combat if it is going to be this awful.

hint: get a massive army and go for the black samuri academy once you get that get a lot of those and nothing will beat you

srry 4 da four but i jus wasn't feeling it I mean it;s great in all but when it comes down to the fighting you vs. ai it was 2 hrd I mean my stats were awesome and it cant defeat a foot soldier

Nice game, nothing very original or special about it though. Also it has huge balance issues, after a while your army grows indestructible and you dont even bother fighting enemies yourself anymore. Put a little cooldown timer on scroll/potions, they really trivialize the fights right now. Maybe reduce or even remove the effect of Art of war, its just too good when you consider it stacking with patriotism and intelligence aswell. And one thing definetly needs to be added, a "Sell All"-button.
3/5

lols fun for awhile but gets boring soon wif 100 Art Of War and Patriotism all my troops go over 2k hp and deal over 500 dmg on average :(

Once you capture Alexandria, all you have to do is hire Demolishers and buy loads of 1/3 life scrolls. You don't even have to attack, it's brilliant.

I just got every last point out of this game and I'm happy 'cause it's the 1st time i got a 30 point badge. I've gotta also say that the "-of Death" advice helped. 4/5 it needs a Sell All button and more balance.

I think this was great game ;) i got all my badges and it was fun time for sure!GJ i really hope you make part 2 of this game but try to make more equipment slots and little harder =)

ranged "of death" equipment makes survival more of an option, and the damage you dish out with stacked "of death" equip is tremendous.
But for the 500 dmg goal it's probably easier and safer to focus on "crushing" equipment, which kills your crit chance but adds a base of 200 or so damage automatically. Easy 500+ with that.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If you want to do 500+ damage just take one of those Mysterious " " of Death items then use it. It'll get 400+ with every hit.. but you'll die after, so it doesn't really matter as long as it registers with the system.

I cant get the 500 damage dealt. If anyone can help me. Also i wish they make the badge hard instead of meduim so you get more points.

i'm currently stuck, i guess i didn't buy enough troops, but i have like 3 consecutive battles, as far as i've gotten anyway, and i keep dying. It's really annoying constantly fighting with no break.

Too few other games where you command a crack team of ninjas.
Make the barter system...better. A sell-all button would make me happy. Other than that, there's nothing overly flawed about this game aside from the atrocious spelling and balance issues.

"Sire! This town is already ours! We can't kill our own people for nothing!"
Your character's only response:
" ...hmm Okay."
D'oh.

Let's see... what else...
The quests are all clones of two types. The hero is largely useless in combat and when you do figure out how to make use of him or her, the awkward targeting and controls make it a chore to ride head-first into battle. The units are not really balanced. The battlefields can be too cramped with obstacles in seemingly random locations. My list goes on, but I'll cut it short. For a flash game, it's satisfying and fun, but there's not much too it, and the blemishes are too numerous to ignore.

Another complaint is that your soldiers are too expendable. All that equipment you gather is nothing more than vendor trash. I want to arm my knights and footmen with new equipment, even the occasional magic item.
Also, there's no difficulty curve. Once you've conquered your first castle, you know you have the ability to conquer ALL castles, so it's just a matter of taking the time to actually travel around the map doing it. Very anticlimactic, and ending with a "Congrats! Now here's the sandbox portion of the game that exists for no reason."

My kingdom for a dictionary! No, seriously, I'll surrender any number of my conquered cities if the developer can just learn to spell "points" correctly, not to mention the other few dozen jumbled words. Trying to read and collect information in this game is almost a simple word game in itself. "Is that supposed to mean compassion or concussion?"
This game is worth playing - fun, even, if you can forgive it its inadequacies - but also deeply flawed.
One of my largest complaints is that the battle is too chaotic. Half the time your men, who can't be controlled, are just bumping into each other. This game would be wild fun with Yackety Sax playing in the background.

What I'd love to see is enemy heroes running around...IE: instead of having you vs. the world, have you vs. Karl vs. Jamie and so forth. While you're running around conquering towns, Karl and Jamie are doing the same, forcing you to garrison what towns you capture or risk having them taken with little fight. More Quests would also be good, perhaps a tiered delivery system where you have to go to first one town, then the next, and then another before getting a progressively bigger reward, as well as quests for capturing smaller cities, getting special rewards for that. One last thing. Instead of having a 'sell all' button, give the option of auto-selling all non-magical arms and armor. That way, you still get the pieces that you might want, while not having to worry about all of the dragging. Peace!

However, there's a minor balance issue. Even with weak troops, simply spamming the 50 gold scrolls practically guarantee victory.

On one hand I'm loving this. On the other hand, I read Wikipedia while waiting for my side to win the battles. I don't even MOVE my hero.

Okay, I liked this game. Ran it all thru. But I have a few comments:
1. the English is a bit error prone, could use spell checker.
2. The quests are only of two types = too simple.
3. The higher levels are totally repetitive. Could use events, larger wars, something.
4. The opponents get too repetitive and easy. Bosses, maybe? Enemy heroes?
5. The hero could autofight ... i mean, at the higher level it's pretty much ... pointless fighting with the hero. And the commands are a bit too involved.
6. The ending. I want an end scene! Or some kind of big battle. Or something!
