how to conquer cities early on:
first grind on thieves dens to earn money and equips (recommend forest or redheads as they are very tanky and can even solo early dens)
lvl and add to masteries as needed then to stats needed to wear decent armor
then recruit a bunch of archers and dump rest points into CON and buy up on some medium heal scrolls
after battle starts run up closer to enemies than ur archers so they target u
attack and spam scrolls as needed (the medium scrolls are hella cheap for their great healing power)
you should be able to conquer all the starting cities this way (including captials)
lastly besure to get some enrage scrolls to make ur archers more powerful

i forgot name of city but when you conquer it, it has horses and they are almost instant kills and never die, also have good defense

Yaaay got the hard badge :D This game was really enjoyable, I noticed a big curve in which it is difficult at the beginning, but gets REALLY easy about 40 percent of the way through. The last 14 or so cities I had to conquer, I swept through and didn't even have to take breaks to get more money or troops. Despite annoying glitches and stuff, this game was pretty fun to play.

Guys, if you capture a city and the surrounding cities are red, unless you feel confident, DO NOT GO TO THAT CITY.
Red cities attack you when you come because you "took other cities." If they are stronger than you, and you die, you will respawn at that red city and be forced to fight them again. This is the reason why I had to make a new file.

panda 4298 is right, once you get a black samurai, all other troops are useless, and i didn't even maxed int or art of war

I bought ten black samurai from "Echigo" with maxed out int, art of war and patriotism and with them, i took over the remaining 30 cities. never even had to do anything else. they never, ever died.

o.O I think I broke the game. My screen in cycling through all of the backgrounds and text sequences. This happened after Adobe Flash crashed when dying in Alexandria :D

i started playing this at about 6:30 pm and conquered all the cities by 6:50 pm ):0 i just spammed with about 50 black and white horses( only about 2 horses died for like 20 cities) :D

wait, so i get paid 400 gold to take a 400 gold boat ride? ok i'll just take over the city! wait.. your going to charge me 4000 gold anyway!? I OWN your stupid boat shop and you're going to charge ME 4000 gold, especially considering i just killed the entirety of your militia? what kind of stupidity is this...

Is my game bugged or something I have 10 full restore health potions and I click on them and none of them is used. Nerd rage.

This is an amazing game. I really enjoyed it. (I played through a second time to get the badges, still great!)
There does need to be ctrl+click to sell items (I appreciate the checkbox for sell all). Also, scrolling in forge should be a hold arrow down to scroll, not the click-only side-scroll [advancing one item at a time is time consuming if you save all of your magic items]. I like the mechanics, the style, and the story/plot. Great, would love more!
