To be fair to the developer, the sails being down decreasing AP makes sense. It is simulating a battle, if your sails are down its a lot harder to make a pass at an enemy ship.

Want easy stars? Buy a skiff and sell it 30 times! If you make it to a port at the beginning when it says "All ports loved me", it'll still start the game as usual, but the flying dutchman will be on the map all the time! Awesome game!

Amazing game, but it REALLY needs the ability to save. Honestly one of my favorites on Kongregate. Remind anyone alse of Tradewinds?

A very fun game. Although fun there was some strange things to me. Specific targeting seemed near pointless you might as well just spam quick attacks. There is quite a bit of boring grinding to upgrade your ships and combat is not that action packed and gets boring if your grinding. A very cool idea and I liked the execution but a game of this type just needs a lot more depth imo, it is not a type that works well with the small quick game style. Goiod game and room for improvement. 4/5

im just saying i reccomend changing the graphics to low, even though the graphics suck the game doesn't lag nearly as much and runs better.

@dave4145 The bigger your ship(hover over one in city and click Change Ship) the farther you can go. I couldn't until i got even ONE cog ship, and they still owned me when i went there. Hope this helped.

441 days. Preety awesome but repetetive later on when you have more cash than you can spend and you are using mostly on x3 cannons ^^

buy corn and banana at good price, then sell to a different port town at a higher price (you will see the corn with 3 gold coins buy it for towns that will buy it higher than what you pay for it) can make you lots of money later on when you buy the bigger cargo ships.

no matter how strong you are (im maxed with all upgrades and achievements) ship levels 1-10 go first, and 11,12, and 13 level ships go last, no matter what. has nothing to do with your strength.

ship sails and crew both affect enemy ap. if you take out their sales, then take out the enemy crew, you will severely cripple the opponents ap, even to the point of them not being able to fire upon you.

Sails: Damage health and AP. / Crew: Damage health and crew (easier to Board). / Hull: Damage health, more so than Sails, Crew or Quick Shot. / Quick Shot: Cheap, damage health. / Board: Instantly neutralise enemy ship if percentage check passed, based on your crew and theirs.

Good game with a nice storyline. The graphics are good with good effects though the music is okay it does abruptly break when it loops, shouldn't be too hard to fix. The interface works well and so it is a shame that the main goal of the game throws away a lot of the gameplay options because they blatantly are not worth the hassle - oh and getting 100% ingame achievements isn't likely to happen for anyone but the most dedicated or those foolish enough to 100% cargo before the rest - like it's worth anything! Overall an amusing game but lacking in that little extra that would bring me back time and again for more. Good bones, maybe something can be done with it to make it last longer?

To beat duchman, get 3 fully upgraded ship of the lines and go quick shot, quick shot, aim hull on each one, that's the best way

I have fully upgraded ships-of-the-lines, using dynamite shells and I can't beat the dutchman, no matter how many times I fight. I knock him just below half health before he kills my final ship. The only stat that matters with his is hull as attacking his sails and crew does nothing. So I am completely at a loss on how to beat him.
