@schrome
What your planes lack in speed the make up for in maneuverability.
All large vehicles are vulnerable from behind.

Loving this. I like that it's a tbs where it's actually possible to take down the big guys with your little ones. It's all about how you move the others, and that fact alone just made my day.

i changed my mind about this after a few more plays, this game needs some serious work. the game gets insanely hard since you are stuck using the super slow and plodding planes vs an army of jets and it would be nice to know when an enemy is in range or the direction the guns are pointing on the zeppelins and balloons. being able to choose your plane would make it possible to use different strategies, increasing replay value.
the premise and graphics are excellent but this game frustrates me because it could be so much better.

Great game, I managed to accidentally fly out of bounds, which was kinda disappointing maybe a warning near the edges would help. But good fun, good concept, nice look.

Last comment from this history nerd, I swear, but to add: in real history, the US ended the final stage of war with the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This game doesn't directly mention nukes, although it uses a mushroom cloud for the symbol for several levels, and in this version of WW2, the decisive victory was Britain taking down some German airships.
WW2 was, incidentally, the first war with bombers and a serious heavy role for air forces beyond surveillance. WW1 was still fought mostly on the ground, with the main air support being blimps/zeppelins for recon purposes. They were sitting ducks to any gun big enough to shoot that far, and had no real weapons of their own since rockets didn't exist yet and automatic guns were still in their infancy.

The real WW2, by the way, started in 1939, the US entered at the end of '41 / beginning of '42, which is also when the Eastern Front between Russia and Germany turned to Russia's favor. Germany was pretty much conquered by the end of 1944 and all Axis nations (Japan being the last holdout) surrendered by 1945. So, this game's alternative history imagines a much longer war.

Farmerboy: it's an alternative history vaguely based on WW1 and WW2 but with completely different events and whatnot (since, obviously, fusion-and-steam-powered vehicles were not a big part of the *actual* WW2) - the only real connection I've seen (almost finished the game) is that it's mostly about Britain fighting Germany.

@Farmerboy - Speak for yourself.
Great game, I haven't gotten to a hard part yet though...Is there a down side to the speed up thingy?

Too much lag for me... great game if not for that... not sure if it's my computer or what, as no-one else seems to have complained.

i may seem like a complete idiot for saying this but is this based on WW2 or some other war I dont know about (dont criticize me im an Aussie and we dont worry bout wars much)

Liam629: 1946 is 4 Bristols head on into 5 Darts in a semi-circle. The hard part is really surviving the first round or two.

Er, taking back my previous statement. Make that a 4 as is and a 4.5+ with the error fixed. Just realized how long I've been playing, lol.

For everyone who is suggesting new weapons, the developer has already done so. If you play the bonus missions (you can only play them at armorgames.com), those 6 extra missions include planes with missiles and planes with bombs. Make sure to go check it out! ;D So don't worry, a sequel will definately have more weapons, if there is one.

Overall it's very good but that deal with the edge of the map is annoying as all heck... I've already lost two planes just because I told them to accelerate too close to the edge and couldn't undo my move because the cursor was gone. It's a very good game but there really should be a better way to handle the border of the maps, maybe have two boundaries: a smaller one for the planes and a larger one for the player's view and the cursors? (with the smaller one inside the bigger one). That way, it'd be easier for us to maneuver near the edge.
