While my save file has now been restored, every time I replay a level to get more stars it is not saved and I am stuck with the stars I originally started with.

ANY mission where u have gas is a joke; just turn around and pas gas every chance you get so enemies fly through it. Round targets: fly slow; attack with 2 planes at once if possible; otherwise do it in 3 "slow-attack;turn away" rounds. Huge bomber: attack slow from behind then turn around or fly circle and repeat. Blimp: same tactic as bomber. (Dont get too close) 180 turn is useful; 360 turn is pointless; speed and shields also useful. Running off the edge is biggest danger, IMHO

Incredible game! 5/5, and no doubtly one of the best games in Kongregate. Great gameplay, great strategy, good music, good graphics, isnt just a stupid skill game, but also not so slow as other turn-based games. Amazing game!

Excellent game. The only problem is the planes flying off the edge, it allows the opponent to force you out of play. An optional tutorial on dogfighting tactics would be a nice plus, as would two player and sandbox modes. 5/5

Also I tried using the unlock all levels cheat thing to get passed it and I get nothing on screen for any of the other levels. I also ended up with the Top Hats for Everybody badge which you really shouldn't be able to get if you've cheated haha

I can't get past the tutorial either, nothing comes up on the screen other than the text box telling you what to do.
I can click continue until it tells you to pick up the powerup then I can't do anything else because the powerup isn't there.

A good way to take down bigger/slower targets is to use one of your planes as a bait in front of the enemy, while using the other(s) to attack the enemy from the tail.

Excellent! There's much potential here. Manage your own squadron, build your own planes.. A career mode, bit like in Crimson Skies.

Could do with a way to plot out your path over several turns rather than inching along when you're trying to do large maneuvers. Otherwise, good stuff.

@Allsparkl - I've got four stars on 1948, so yeah, it's quite possible. Just takes a while to realize that the enemy planes really are dumb enough for the obvious strategy to work.

So, it's stupid that if your plane is closed to the edge, and the little line goes off the edge, you're not able to get to it so that you can actually move away from the edge.

This seems based on the popular card game: wings of war. Very easy to play, and fun. Can't wait for multiplayer version!

The enemy strategies could use some tweaking. And you should be able to "dodge" bullets. I would love to see some customization and upgrades. Overall, this was an excellent game and I look forward to what you have in store for the future.

need to fix the issue with the control button at the end of the pathline goes off screen when pressing the superspeed thingy too near the edge or better yet get rid of the useless edge.

Another thought...boss fights all boil down to flying away from the boss, killing the escorts, and then finishing the boss off with zero resistance. So boss fights could use more variety in obstacles. Maybe some escorts stay with the boss, or reinforcements periodically arrive. Having the final boss of the bonus missions shooting heat-seekers was a nice touch...maybe slow down the rate of fire and add in some escorts? And, of course...where are the enemy's ace pilots? :)

Terrific game!! :) Gameplay is refreshingly different from the usual flash games here. Graphics, sound (love the music!), and interface are all very polished. The one thing I would change is to put less emphasis on poison trails, and more emphasis on the guns. As it is now, the only reason to use guns over poison is to get a better score. Would be better if the enemy AI would try to steer clear of the poison trails, so that the poison is more of a maneuvering tool, rather than a primary weapon.

Could have been a great game. But you loose a plane when you accidentaly leave the boundaries? You switch to "fast mode", your marker suddenly lies out of the game area and you can't change that back, meaning loosing a plane in the progress? That's plain frustrating. 3/5

Just once, just once I forget to adjust a plane and bam, my 4 star rating is gone. Why make a game which require precise manouvering by EVERY plane, EVERY time and not implement a warning system when you dont adjust every plane...

Dunno if it'd work for everyone, but on the 1948 mission I used gas to take out the two Darts and the Turtle. Then I just took out the Bombino at my leisure. Of course, the Bombino is too slow for gas to work on it, so...

So disapointed with this game.
Could have been an amazing dogfight game, with plane customization, skills improvment with rank, use of clouds for dissimulation and sun for lowering accuracy of enemy, rockets...
But no. Everything resolves around poison trails, POISON for PLANES ? O_o. You dont get a better idea ? Napalm ? black smoke ? Ignited kerozene ? clouds of nano-disruptors ?

Why choosing an uchronia setting for not using it ?
Scoring system is frustrating too.
Having such talent for programming, designing and wasting it because of poor gameplay idea is such a waste.
