I really loved this game. It wasn't too short, the gameplay itself was pretty flawless and the dialogue was actually worth reading! 5/5

One problem I had was that the game sometimes drags you into obstacles along the way. To get Ginny's ending, you must never die, but that is impossible if you get dragged into the obstacle that constantly hurts you until you die.

what a journey.... i consider this the bench mark for any game in this genre... very captivating and funny at times (doesn't read the ladies well does he? lol) thank you for this game... i can compare this feeling of gaming to that of when i first played FF7 and FF8... (music making me emotional).. :D

I like this game. A lot.
However, I do feel that the overabundance of Deus Ex Machina is an overall bad point for the plot.
In any event, danond, thank you. For making this game.

Two suggestions that I have: 1) Add an auto-attack button (Like "A"), 2) Have the option to move with the mouse (You would move the mouse where you WANT to move, and the speed you move at would be the speed of the ship in the current conditions). I think the second one would make things so much easier (And you really wouldn't need an auto-attack button if you had the mouse held down).

Maybe a sequel would be hard to scenarize. But with all the good backgrounds there, surely a prequel on the golden ages of the Pirate Lords would be fine ! The return of the Dedi shall be a nice adventure to play too. Great job !

For the folk saying there is no information on stats other then Johnny's comments there actually is in the game guide via the menu page. It is nicer to have the info in game while you play but it is all there if you need it.

Wonderful game. Though some may have thought the dialogue too lengthy, I believe it an inevitable side effect of a fascinating story. Well, it really was kind of lengthy in some places. But thats one of the reasons this was so immersive and fun in the first place ;D Its hard to tell a good story in 5 sentences.
Also, the music was great, it really fits, I'll be listening to it again...and again...
And if you improve the gameplay by adding in some new enemies here and there, maybe make something like an upgrade tree, letting us see Johnny's various tips regarding the stats in a tip section rather than having them being lost forever after being viewed once (or have a little popup explain each stat when the cursor is over it) , make "M" a mute button, plus some suggestions from other comments, then the sequel to Starwish (I sure hope there is one) will likely be simply awesome.

I second what ChippyYYZ said yesterday, on this comment section: "See if any major companies are interested in developing a non-flash game with this story, because Starwish has the writing it needs to be a Big deal."
Thank you! :)

After entering portal and facing the same boss a 3rd time i quit the game.
After badges were added I returned, but my save was gone and the earthwall badge unattained :(

I finished the game and i absolutely love it. It spends a remarkable about of focus on story and character detail doing its best to leave no holes... I havent played a game that spent so much focus on story details in a while... Thanks =D
messing with Ship Mods also change the gameplay drastically 5/5

Oh man, i rated 5/5 but i'm thinking about changing because it doesn't save! And I didn't delete the cookies! Spoiled everything! I beat Earthwall and now I have to start all again!

The story is great and has a lot of surprises and the game is almost playable only for that fact. The characters are likeable and diverse, far better than anything I've seen in a long time. Music, artwork, it's all in a good place.
The gameplay however, leaves a lot to be desired. All enemies and even bosses are reused three times, diversity is scarce. Main difficulties come from sticky, unresponsive controls, and the fact that you so easily get frozen into walls kills me more often than bullets. Iblis is the only hard fight, and that mostly because he has so much health, and is somewhat hard to hit behind all those drones depending on which weapons you upgraded. I stuck with the Lazer and the Chain, which in retrospect was a very bad idea. (I do like the diversity in weapons however!) Even still, the story and feel of the game made me like this it a LOT, earning it a strong 4/5 from me. Touch up on the gameplay in the sequel, and you'll likely make it into my top picks for sure! :D

This is excellent. Epic in length without feeling like it's dragging on; solid dialogue for a Flash game; entertaining gameplay with a surprising variance of viable builds; great visuals and soundtrack; an intuitive relationship-building interface (at least with Johnny's helpful tips); and a wonderful cast. The amount of dialogue is just fine throughout most of the game, though admittedly the very first part is overwhelmingly long.

while oracle was talking about her past, I erroneously closed the browser. Now the game reloaded with the next mission ready, but I missed the story? Is there a way to repeat the dialogues? Or some script online? Please help!

You have created one of the greatest games I have played on this site, or any such site. A great story, wonderful gameplay, addicting, and even good music.... although I must confess I substituted "The Impossible Dream" for the final battle, it just fit.

I really don't care if you rate me low. I'm not Phd for nothing. Keep sitting in front of a computer and play for the rest of your miserable lives. :)

Impressive game, upgrades and mods got expensive at a managable rate, enemy difficulty progression was exponential at a moderate rate, storyline kept me glued to the screen for the most part, loved that drunk panda, and story outcome was very well thought. Overall, 10/5, you earned it after such a massive upload.

Who says the game has too much dialogue in incult. People who doesn't know how to enjoy a good reading. Life is not just games duh!
This just makes a game greater than it should be. If you don't like it, just go play Toss the Turtle or Hedhog launch. Kids (mind age)... tsk, tsk...

This game is actually a book, hiding behind a game. The gameplay in this game is great, but the story is even better. The story is what gave this game such a high rating. (This is why I read books, they're even better than this game!) I love the characters, I love the game.

a great game is all i can say, but too much dialog. The romance part should be optionall, like triggered at the cafe or something.

if anything should replace Epic Battle Fantasy as top rated games. This should be it. Hands down. NO questions asked.

Way tooooooo much text. I know that good character development is important, and so is a nice story, but the truth is there is just too much text. I started the game yesterday I stopped playing after the 1st level/tutorial. I started again today and after one level again you give me 2039120 lines of speech again. Don't get me wrong, I played a couple of FF until the end and I don't mind my game having a huge story, because it is well intertwined with the game. Here you have huge sections of text followed by a level.
The story didn't catch me, and so didn't the gameplay.
2/5

Great game I think...just played 3 levels or so... I'll play it again when I'm in the mood for blocks and blocks of dialogue... I really want to get to know these characters... Just not in the mood right now...
