This game is way too grindy. I get to the boss without much of a problem and now i have to replay one stage over and over and over and over. . . In order to have enough power to kill it. If the rest of your bosses are going to be super easy dont make the last one super hard. Make ALL of the bosses progressively more difficult.

My favorite part of this game: the amazing dialogue
My least favorite part of the game: how obnoxiously long the dialogues are
overall, this game is excellent. 5/5

Even after doing New Game Plus, I STILL can't even beat the firebolt the first time around! Ughhhhh... This is difficult.

From what I've seen, this is how I know to get the different endings: Ginny: No deaths before day 18 (Not spoiling what happens); Deadeye:Weapon upgrades; Johnny: Need moolah on hand; Tessa; Number of mods you have; Nefertiti: Play on hard mode and get total kills up. I don't know about Swig or Mare, so this is a little basic. I'll check the forums and maybe update this.

Xdanond, thank you to yourself and your staff for a fabulous job on this charming wonderful crafted hybrid game. The story is interesting and witty with very colorful characters. The music is lovely and well composed. I have been playing it for hours and love it. Congratulations on this great project. I think everyone would love a sequel or game like this one. 5/5

This is an incredible game; beautiful in every way! The story is awesome, the writing is impeccable, the music is unimaginably great and very fitting, the characters are incredible, the art/animation is anime-ish (which I love), and the gameplay is classic side-scrolling-shooter with a cool rpg twist. I am honest in saying that, with as much that I've played so far, this would make a really awesome movie. Reading the dialogue made me love the characters, writing, and story more and more. This game made me... feel. Say what you will about me, but this is one of the best games in the entire world, ever. My heart feels so much love for this game, and I'm not always the incredibly emotional person.

I'm not sure why this game is so popular. It's just not that fun to play. The controls are awkward and the level up system isn't great. If all I wanted was a good story then I'd read a book.

if i could, i would give you an outright 10/5 for that game! It is truly an amazing game with lots of story and good reworked classic game style. I hope i see asequel to it (mustn't be a sequel but another game like this one from you!)

Please note: This is one of the best flash games I have ever played. I don't even remember what is ahead of it. It has seriously been that long since something has reached the caliber of epic this has. Why this doesn't have a perfect 5 is beyond me.

Brilliant. There was, is not now, and may never will be any game like this on Kongregate. The story was captivating, inspiring, and I will admit I sahed a tear or two; and the dialouge is what help put in more life into these amazing characters. The combat was unique, and I LOVE YOU for allowing players to choose different weapons for certain situations in-game. Here are some ideas I hope you can pick up in the next sequel.Try and make the controls a little more stable, I found myself flying across the map just because I tapped the "D". PLEASE, MORE OF YOUR ART, I had a feeling that more art in "cutscenes" would make me feel like I was actually somewhere specific, instead of the same area of the ship where everyone wants to talk (I'm not talking about the Bridge). Give the player more freedom to decide where the story goes. I look forward to the next best game on this site, you are amazing!

Arrrrgh. I always accidentally click skip, I've restarted the game twice now just because that skip button seems like it'd advance the text. Normally, a button in the corner of a dialogue box would simply advance the dialogue, but this game has none of those so I naturally click the skip button and miss half of the story. I STRONGLY suggest you either add a thing asking to confirm a skip or simply make a button to click to go on in a future update.

*spoiler maybe?*
all the characters are turning out to be named after what they are.. so.. I guess that makes the main character a deuce.

Alright, a 5/5 game, but there ARE a few glitches. After overdrive, if you are still inside a wall (phasing through), can it be made so I just get out and lose a bit of shield instead of just being stuck there? Also, in the stage "absolute zero", for some reason, the walls just don't react to me.
Additionally, as said before, the bosses were kind of....ehh. The only time I ever died was at Iblis. Either way, great storyline, okay gameplay, and a good start. Just...work on the bosses next time ._. it gets boring the third time when you know a surefire way to beat it.

I'd love to see a sequel, but some improvements need to be made! The game was pretty easy, even on hard mode. Also, the enemy and boss design seemed kinda lazy (e.g. the crystal dragon), everything was completely static too. Some animations from enemies and bosses would have worked wonders for the game's presentation. Don't get me wrong, this was a good game. The narrative and story telling was great and really fun to read; it's rare that a flash game is so well-written, let alone a shmup, so kudos for that. The upgrade system was addictive even if it was just mindless stat building, but it kept me going throughout. I also liked the Contra-styled weapons like the crush gun.
In closing: Good game and a great start. Just a little rough around the edges. 4/5

Anyone know the best setup? I am currently using lasers/missiles but I am thinking of switching from lasers to chargers.

I went and watched the rest of the endings after finishing the game once.
I don't regret "cheating" to see what happens. The game itself is tedious, but the storyline is brilliant. Just... finish the game first.

This game is pulling at my heart. Quite possibly the best story-driven RPG I've ever played. And I've played a LOT of RPGs.

1.30 a.m. Couldn't stop playing it. I HAD to see it right through the end.
Man. That WAS a true RPG. Yeah, maybe not conventional, and maybe a space shooter of all things. But it has a story the new Final Fantasy would want to... Thank you... for all.

You need to work at Bioware or Bethseda or .... anywhere really. I'm sure Japan is drooling over your storytelling games and I'm sure they want you. You should throw your game out to major developers try to get a job if you don't already.

The only thing i didn't like was having to fight all bosses again. This reminds me of old Super Nes games like Mickey in Circus and Donald Duck and lots of other games where that happens.
5/5 though. You did a great job.

TIP: When you activate overdrive, you become invulnerable for a short period of time meaning you can take hits that would normaly damage you and pass through walls or enimies. + so other people can know this!
