I finally finished this game after a long time of on and off playing and I have to say it is truly masterful. The progression of the story and the multiple weapon choices make this a must play game. 5/5

After a few hours of gameplay, finally finished, and just realized "Oh crap there's a hard mode."
Amazing, Amazing game.

I would LOVE to make a sequel, but large games like this are a difficult sell. If you would like a sequel as well, please vote! Thank you so much!

(continuation)In case you really get to work on a sequel (I'd be amazed if there's more that you want to express, and at the same time a bit worried that that one ending won't stand a chance), you could use the shmups' ( shmups.system11.org ) forum's Development subforum.
Surprisingly good system for a shmup with a health bar. Finally, if you would ever want to include more difficult challenges (such as hidden side quests), remember to try to make them optional (story-wise) so that everyone can have a chance at seeing all of the story bits.

I wish (no pun intended), though, that (besides limitations that Flash may impose) the shmup part would be improved. The weapons were well-balanced enough (barring the starting weapons, there were really few "unhelpful" ones), the achievements were fun to pursue, just the pacing, seemingly lack of variety of enemy types, attacks to avoid and boss fights would count as negative parts. I'd recommend (not that I'm demanding anything, mind you) doing some research on games which have more developed scoring systems, and/or fun survival games and/or uncommon/unique gameplay mechanics (there's so many games which could provide inspiration, to name a few: Crimzon Clover, Gradius 3, G-Darius, Bio Metal, ESP Galuda, Armed Police Batrider, Raiden Fighters Jet, Dangun Feveron, Ketsui).(continues)

the
special
ending should be the canon one, but I can't vote for it :( (liked all the other endings too, btw)
This is a very enjoyable game, and the proposal (shmup+dating sim+rpg+visual novel) worked surprisingly well. The story was well done, and the characters were believable, identifiable and the reading experience was unique.

ive played it ten minutes and already i like it. its a great game first one with a great story like this that ive played in awile hope u make a second one

It's a bit...dialogue heavy. Still, the character interaction is absolutely beautiful, and everyone on the ship has a lot of skeletons in their closet to work out.

... Lol. Seven Pirate Lords. Sounds... Familiar for some odd reason... Anyways, yes, MAKE A SEQUEL! If you don't I will pester you until you do. >_>

I dont feel like I'm playing a flash game with this one, really, great structure and gameplay. Still working on finishing it but bravo.

I really enjoyed playing this game. It's too bad my flash player plugins crashed and I looked for help, which was to open up the task manager and end the flash player process. :/ Oh well. I don't have the patience to play this game after spending so much effort into it... I wish I could find out the other endings.

What I've always wondered about is how throughout all of these comments I haven't seen anything about the Mothership's computer and how it manages to out-snide Deuce. Maybe I missed something.

I like Visual-Novel'esque games in general, but never thought to see one in flash! And furthermore, its great. The storyline, characters, and there is even some scrolling-shooter action to it! I have only 1 word to describe this game: AWESOME.

Fascinating storyline, likeable characters with deep personalities, beautiful music, very detailed upgrade system, lots of weapons and interesting enemies... You, sir, created a whole world in flash game form. 100/5. Best game I've ever played.

It's just unfortunate you didn't expand on the Dating Sim esque part of the game. I really thought I could revive Ginny in the end, but it wasn't one of the choice (sad day) and so all the relation ships I fostered with the girls in the game felt empty in the end.

"Imagine how cranky you feel waking from a good dream, this is how it feels for us to live in your world." Not the best justification for destroying solar systems and ending trillions of lives.
