This was like finishing a good series, be it a game, television show or book. It has this wonderful quality that causes me to feel very strong and very positive emotions upon conclusion. Now I need to take a break because I've been sitting here for four hours.

You know I have played more games in my life then i can count and I can say without a doubt that this is one of the best games I ever play. I really liked the story it really sparked my interest it made me want to listen (or read doesn't matter) the dialogue again. What I liked most though were the endings and I would LOVE a sequel or another game with a story similar to it.

As for the gameplay, I would be remiss if I didn't commend this as well. The story kept me playing, but the game play mechanics were superb. Out of the infinite ways to do this badly, from frustration to aimlessness, so much was done right! I felt it unfortunate that a few of the weapons weren't more useful, the skill decisions were irreversible, and it seemed like the new weapons stopped too soon - the last "stage" could have used that touch of extra variety.
But all I could criticize is together not worth even a fraction of a star deduction! If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.
Thank you for the effect this has had on me, and I hope you go on to many wonderful things in gaming too!

I've never stopped to comment on a game, but I found this so great that I couldn't help but stop and say thank you for making this! It reminded me of why I fell in love with games in the first place - it took me back to Phantasy Star IV and Final Fantasy III!
I must say that I actually teared up at a few of the endings - especially the farewell at the end of Tessa, the beautiful fatalism-twist of the no-wish wish (which, by the way, I see no way to vote for - but I think it made the best grounding for a sequel). I enjoyed it so much I replayed until I got all the endings!
It's been...wow, 20 years since a game made me "feel" so much as this. Beautiful philosophy, the logical sensibility, fine crafted dialogue - the writer(s) have a real gift!

The unique characters, situations, and music really made this feel to me like Joss Whedon's "Firefly." Some fantastic stuff. Rarely have I enjoyed a game so much. Thank you for putting in the effort to make this so pleasant, rewarding, and fun.

Hands down the Best Game I have played in Years(Free or otherwise). The story was great, the mechanisms are amazing and soundtrack was good. Please make a Sequel.

Best game on Kongregate I've played. Probably the best game i have ever played period. only down was that damned boss that had those three lights and the spear arm in the end. The final boss was easy compared to the trouble i had with him. Love the endings (Ginny ftw). Never did the one for Swig. Didn't care for him as much as Ginny and Tessa.

I'm back (or rather, still here). In Mare i see a strong vorlon presence, so i'm guessing that Babylon 5 was a strong inspiration for this game as well?

Story's great, love personalities given to them, and the controls and levels are great; really, it's one of the better games I've ever played. Here's the thing though, they could have redone the final boss. No spoilers, but I will say this: it has a level of cheap difficulty that will make you scream in frustration. Even on the normal difficulty, the attacks the final boss uses does not only show up unpredictably, it forces you to go to certain locations in order to avoid damage, and even then it'll leave you incredibly vulnerable to attack. It doesn't help that there are enemies that are incredibly hard to kill that block his way... Few.. That was quite a rant... Again love the game, hate that boss.

Holy Crap! I couldn't get off the game. I played all evening and night till I finished it. Not only is the story compelling, the dialogues are funny too! It felt like living the story. Really the awesome storyline is the backbone of this game. 5/5

This is one of the best free games I have ever played and I believe it should be made into a book, a movie and have half a dozen sequels. I would have paid 50 bucks for this game because unlike a lot of games the story line was amazing. That has become a lost art in video games is the story line. I cant think of a single thing to complain about this game nailed every nail right on the head. I hope at some point you decide to make a sequel.

5/5 -- If you get bored and still wanna work on the game, auto-pause when the mouse leaves the game area and remappable hot keys would be great, then you'd get 6/5. In theory. It won't really let me do that.

Wow,xdanond comment ''I would LOVE to make a sequel, but large games like this are a difficult sell. If you would like a sequel as well, please vote! Thank you so much!'' is the most voted comment on kong,i think...

The best flash game I've yet played! This is the only one that took over my GemCraft Labyrinth (and sometimes Dragon Fable) addictions. Personally, Would LOVE to see a pre/sequal

The writing is extremely slow, and breaks the show-don't-tell rule numerous times. When I finally got to the gameplay I was disappointed that it was basically like any other space shooter.

This game should be picked up by a major developer and done on console. Imagine it with next gen graphics, voice acting, the works. This is one of the greatest games ever made...period

too much talking text to o through, would be better to read whole pages than have to click through hundreds of messages of game story text, good easy start 1st loss is important as part of storyline.

@dralos: Yes you can - it's just completly ignored storywise. You do get an achievement for it, though. [It becomes rather manageable if you stack some New Game +. The enemies' strength doesn't increase as fast as yours, especially if you invest in Intelligence and/or Luck]

I know it is cheating, but i could never get neferiti to talk to me, so i used youtube for that ending and the secret one. The saddest ending has to be ginny's, love the reference to us. But I reckon the secret ending should definitely be canon if ever there was a sequel. it is the happiest of the lot

Quote from Deuce: i know but as a kid thats how i was. after that i shouted something dumb like" i wish there was no such thing as wishes". Nice birthday wish, huh?

I really enjoy this game but a couple of times I have accidentally pressed skip on the dialogue could you add a repeat dialogue button.

I remember back when I took the time to search for all of my older kongregate accounts passwords that were written on index cards scattered throughout the huge, crap-filled garage that I have just to rate this game five-stars from all of them. That six hour search was worth it. Also, I'd like you to know that the lowest rated comment (-67, now a -68 rating) says "TOO MUCH DIALOGUE!" So next time you think that the dialogues too long, think again, xdanond. This story is epic! You have no right to shorten it!
