One more thing: The only flaw I can see in this masterpeice is the mission backgrounds. You have amazing character art and backgrounds on the ship, but during missions, all we see is recycled images. Not that that can't be a good thing sometimes, but I think you should consider more art there. Still the rest makes up for that time and again 15/5 if I could.

I'd...like something like Q&E to cycle through weapons, or something aside from the numbers. It's hard to swap and dodge quickly and keep a hand near 'o'. Unless...well, I could change where I hold my hand...

I killed the first firebolt at level 1 on normal (mad touhou skillz FTW), but doing it on hardmode is just too much. Gave up after 70+ tries. Kudos to anyone who can pull it off.

The gameplay is.. well, it's a bit shallow. But the story is really great. Blows most other flash games out of the water. Wonderful job.

ALSO, it is in fact possible to kill the firebolt in the beginning if you do a new game plus. Not sure about doing it with a level 1 character as it'd be damn near impossible to dodge the bullets that long.

Sorry for double post but the endings are affected by who you talk to in the cafe and how much you talk to them. I think my first playthrough I managed to get all the endings available but I didn't know that I could continue at the final boss to read all the endings.

i figured out why in the end i didnt get a choice of wishes ..... i didnt answer the questions at the beginning which if u have played through once u can tell each question reflects a secondary characters personality along with talking to them if u choose certain answers for the questions it will affect the ending
if anyone just has a collection of the endings id be grateful playing it twice was hard enough for me

@pennyyy it is not possible to kill firebolt at the start as when you make fire bolt go to like 65% health,you insta die no matter what

Okay im not sure why but I beat the game on hard mode i tlked to tess and ginny and neff the most if not all of their cafeteria times, and I still have the no wish ending -.-

I am honestly at a loss for words, this flash game that you have made, this type of video game which has been systematically abused by poor developers, has been made into a wonderful game, with its depth and beauty it could easily be turned into a professional video game maybe with its own anime haha, I hope you win the monthly prize for this game, and if you don't I will forever be sickened by the community in kongregate

Fantastic game. A few comments:
-It's a little repetitive in that you're essentially doing the same few levels over with different terrain. Same bosses too. Mix it up a little.
-Am I stupid? Where's the button to see my achievements?

Awesome game! My only gripe is that sometimes the gameplay feels repetitive and at other times the dialogue seems long-winded. I think it's because the two are not tied together so much. Often there's no direct connection between the fighting and the dialogue; we go to some planet and fight things for 5 minutes and then read 10 minutes worth of dialogue not really related at all to the fighting that occurred on that planet. As a result I often felt a little impatient; impatient during dialogue scenes to get to the gameplay and at other times impatient with the fighting because I wanted to get to the next part of the story. Still, it's an amazing game and very rewarding to play through to the end (multiple times).

The story is amazing. I was gonna give it 5 but then all my experience was ruined by the lack of autosave. Adobe plugin crashed and I was back at the start.

Hands down, the best game in the year, save Gemcraft. Absolutely epic art, gameplay and character desing (can't say too much of the story, only 3 hours before going to sleep). I can more or less imagine just how much this game took to be made. Will comment more tomorrow, as progress is made.

Amazing story. The story is one of the best I've seen in any game, let alone a flash game. The gameplay was decent, but without the story I wouldn't of enjoyed this game as much as I did. I found myself groaning about playing the game because I just wanted the story. If you made the gameplay better this could easily be a console game.

Great game. Bravo. Dialogs with humor and meaning. Intriguing story. The shooting part itself is so-so. I am more on keep playing in order to unfold the story.
I wish (or I should make no wish, after reading the ending dialog Deuce with Wishstar? :) ) to know ways to open up all endings.. and could Ginny by any chance be revived?
The musics also reflect, in fact amplify, the moods on various occasions. I thank you, xdanond, auriplane, and Wohali on creating a game with such a great storyline.

First- this game is absatively incredible. Sure, there are a few glitches where I got stuck inside of some of the scenery and imploded, and the Monoliths are a huge pain to kill, but its still really fun. Now, no spoilers but: does anyone know if its possible to get a "ginny" ending? I thought I'd be on track for it, but, then that whole thing in space happened, and well...you know.

I seriously cannot believe I would find a game like this online...this is something I'd expect to but on a console. I am an avid player of RPGs and I have to say the story was amazing, the dialogue was spectacular(especially the exchanges between Deuce and Mare XD). I hope with EXTREME excitement that you'll make a sequel to this. And I would love to find a release of this game on a console in the future. =D

I got chills at the ending. I'm still having chills. This is like playing the Final Fantasy series all over again, but on Kongregate??? This game should be published as a real, 3d RPG!!!

Please, can anyone confirm that it is possible (or not) to kill the very first battle vs firebolt??? I tried it on new game plus (hard mode) a couple of times but couldn´t even get half of the hp down.
Just asking if it would be worth the hard work (alternate ending/story), don´t wanna miss anything :P

That.. Was absolutely amazing. The gameplay was decent, but the story was outstanding. I've read books that gripped me less, seen movies with characters less developed, and played 40+ hour games without connecting to anyone like I did in this flash game. Unbelievable. 5/5

I've only just seen one ending, but this games sure beats the crap out of even certain $20-valued games out there. Love the music. The story may seem shallow at first, but it plucks the nerve of childhood innocence within each of us. Great job. =)
