That game was amazing. The plot line was what got me hooked, though. A sequel to this with all of the same characters would be awesome.

Great spin on a classic genre. I like the story though some of the dialog is a bit lengthy. It is quite effective on character development though so for what this game is, great job! 5/5

I wish there was an ending about Ginny like a reunion though i hope if a sequel is made Ginny will come back somehow ;) 5/5 really loved the game played it 3 days straight ^^ (Ginny is cute ;o) in any case i'm hoping that your about to make a sequel.

how do I unlock the other 3 endings? I saw Tessa, Deadeye and the "beer bear" one through "continue". I guess the other 3 ones require finishing New Game Plus...?

I'm sorry but this is not a good game. I'm gonna get downvoted terribly for this (because people can't take criticism) but the dialogue and characters bland, the art decent at best, and gameplay simplistic and boring.

Bloody brilliant, I thoroughly enjoyed playing this from start to finish, a captivating storyline, good characters and a relatable protagonist. Very well done 5/5

but also if i where to say, I think there should be an option to choose your yes's and no's, a way to respond yourself instead of the story line being set up in one straight thought process. if anyone agrees with this, like this comment please ^.^

after the third time my game was deleted i decided to give up. Good game, but it can't be that hard to install a save function that works...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i really liked this game especially the story behind it, you have real talent there
looking forward for any possible sequel
and also agree with thief... film or a book would be nice :)

this game was amazing. So deep and rich in character. I was blown away several times when the characters revealed something about themselves. AMAZING GAME!!!! keep up the good work man. 100 out of 5

just a little tip for players against bosses with lasers (especially iblis): don't be phazed (pardon the pun) by those red beams of death, seeing them as an unapproachable barrier, you can actually just fly straight through them and a fair amount of the time you will just pass through without a registered hit, it's when you are exposed to them for a time when the damage is done. use this to dodge around them =D
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
you know.. this could make a good XBLA or PSN game.. just fix the small bugs and gets the graphics up to date. maby make it a 3rd person flying game instead of side scrolling and you can walk around mother ship and what not and i would defently get this.. the way it is now is still a 5/5

Okay, now that I've gotten the ragepost out of the way, let me be more polite about it. The cardinal sin of any game like this is to put an unavoidable situation where they cannot dodge attacks. This happens repeatedly against Iblis. For once, the intervals between his paired horizontal lasers mean that he can -- and often will -- herd you to the upper or lower front corners. This is substantially worsened by the existence of the low-life plasma beam, because this can coincide with the other lasers. If, for example, he does a sweep from up to down while the horizontal beam is going, then you have to tank the lasers. Yes, you have a health bar, and yes, you have bombs. The use of them should not be REQUIRED, because that puts you in a tanking fight, and you are fighting something with a hundred times your health. That's absurd. With this sort of fight, you NEED to incorporate actual changing AI. As is, it's terribly sloppy, and that makes it very, very aggravating for the player.

You know, I play shoot-em-ups fairly regularly. I enjoy bullet hell. I play a lot of video games in general. And I don't think I've *ever* run a cross a boss fight that seems as inherently unreasonable and unfun as Iblis. Congratulations! Tip: YOU DO NOT INCOPORATE MULTIPLE LARGE STRAIGHT LINE SCREEN DIVIDERS INTO A SHOOT-EM-UP, especially if there are other bullets going around the screen!

WOW. id say thats the BEST game on kongregate, maybe even one of the best games ive played. although gameplay is not as good as other games (like on xbox and such) the story line was simply amazing...id LOVE to see another one. 10/5

phoenix, it's different because it has a story... most don't have a story and if they do it's not very good.
11thor11, can you remember the name of the game?
kk911, some people might say, you just can't beat it... I won't though. I just want to say I think having rpg elements added to it make it better not worse.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The RPG elements like story, characters in this game are excellent, but unfortunately the shooter part is mediocre. You should consider making a traditional RPG or ARPG next time.

I think it would be great to get some artists to do visuals for the cutscenes, you know, for a more immersive expression of the story.
Also, I would love to help out with a future project on this in any way I could. It's an amazing idea of a game.

This game is absolutely phenomenal. Characters, personalities, dialogue, storyline, twists, music, and lasting appeal. Some parts had me smiling from the humor, and others had me near tears from the sorrow. Such a powerful and moving game. Also, with playing it on hard the gameplay is difficult enough to really hold my interest. Getting all endings was so fun and seeing how each of them turned out invoked so much emotion because I really felt attached to the characters. The last few sentences about the universe in each ending are such important life lessons. xdanond, thank you so much for this powerful and moving game. You are going to go on to such great things.

In all honestly, the gameplay isn't original, the graphics are generic, the levels are repetitive and there are many minor yet significant bugs throughout. Yet despite all this, This is one of the best games on Kongregate due to the engaging storyline and amazing characters. I hope that future game makers can learn from this game in that a great game isn't one crammed with realistic graphics and complex particle physics, but instead one that can tell a good story.

For the people who asked, it IS possible to defeat the ship in the prologue. I recommend doing it with a new game plus.

Great Game! It has been a long time since I've played a 5/5 game on Kong, its been going down hill a bit in quality games lately... I'm so happy I could hug you! I agree with Thystonius, you should make it an iOS game (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) and if you put a bit more effort into it and make it a full length interactive game like Final Fantasy, Phantasy Star, Chronicles of Inotia, Dungeon & Hero, and the many others, you could sell it for $5.99 or whatever, it will Definitely sell if its the next Starwish, and when you sell 50,000 copies you'll make $299,500 (-the apple tax) And no doubt you will sell a lot more then that! I wish you the best of luck!

yep... the only thing bad about this game is the save option.... i clicked save then quite. then the next day i got on it was all gone. but otherwise.... 5/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Looks nice, sounds nice and has a nice story but I found controls were not good. If I hold up first then I can't also hold left or right to make a diagonal move and likewise if I'm holding left or right first and then press up or down I can't make a diagonal move. If the control was better then it would be very good but this seriously lets it down in my view :(.

Dislike the troubles with the save options. Love the rest of the game. Too bad I have to replay a large part again ;-;

When I first saw this game I was like ugh not another side scrolling space shoot -.- Well I have nothing better to do at the moment, played through it didn't read anything just skipped it all, was a little turned off that the bosses were re-used. I started reading the final maps conversations...was blown away. Loved it, Now I'm re-playing it on hard, reading all the conversations and trying to get the other endings ( although I already saw them on youtube.)
This game is just amazing. Please make another lol XD also can you make the secret ending cannon? Ginny dieing sucks, and the rest not getting there wishes suck >.<
