I have not even finished this game, and yet I am already reviewing it because it is THAT GOOD. The dialogue and characters were totally awesome and made me laugh out loud several times. The game play itself is flat out fun. The system is quite unique. Overall, this combines several genres into EPIC WIN. It well deserves the 5/5 stars I am giving it.

I apologize for the double post, but I also need to add that the music, art, dialogue...everything was really well thought out and fantastic, so hat's off to you. :)

You've masterfully combined game genres to make an amazing game...I must say I'm very impressed by your work. Great job!

This game has amusing characters, great story and nice dialog. The combat was clunky though. The art pretty good, except the saw mines. Something makes it so addicting. Hope for a sequel! 5/5
P.S Maybe if you die to a boss the game gives you a tip on how to beat him. :)

Call me an American, but there is way too much dialogue. When I finally got through the 8 hours of miserable text, it turned out that the game was very 80's. to much dialogue + 80's style gaming = 1/5.

Glad to see that there are different kinds of games out there. Really great idea for a game. I hope to see more games from you in the future, 5/5

Just beat the game, I got swig's ending, and the game was great too, the story and dialogue made up for the iffy combat.

In all honesty, the game play and mechanics are mundane, and nothing exceptional, but what makes this game extraordinary is the storyline and characters. Easily worth 5/5 stars, hands down.

There was a bit too much dialogue for me, although I did read a bit after the end of each level. I could tell what was happening most of the time and the multiple endings were great. The weapon shop was still a tad confusing with all the different numbers and stuff so I usually went off of what I thought was going to be the best weapon. All in all I gave the game 5/5 because of the great storyline and fun gameplay. Make a sequel, seriously.

Without a doubt, probably the best game I've played in years. Possibly the best on Kong. I love this game so much, I spent at least 3 days playing it over and over. Amazing game.

This game plays wonderfully off of the success of many old genres of games. It has immersive storyline, fun gameplay, and brings back waves of nostalgia of the vertical shooters from the early 2000s.

I don't like the level titled absolute zero way to easy to get trapped and life goes down really fast when you bump into walls.

This game is amazing! Normally, whenever I play a game, I usually just go through it until I decide "Eh, time to play another game" But this, I played it more and more, intent on finding out how it ends. I haven't seen yet, but I'm really excited. This will be, literally, the first online game which I complete the story of! Great job! Keep up the work! 5/5

Ginnys ending is so sad! I teared up.
Y u no let me be with her forever? T_T
Other than that... 5/5. I laughed. I cried. I actually enjoyed the gameplay. I voted up the making of a sequel. I love this game.

Absolutely loved it. I agree with what most people here have been saying: The shooter component was a little strange in places, but the story and characters are so vivid and well-written that it easily makes up for the little gameplay difficulties. I like the "Vote Ending" feature in principle, but I feel like certain characters get left in the lurch regardless of what "official" ending is chosen. Besides, the "No Wish" endings were the only ones which really felt complete for me, taking the whole cast into consideration. Certain character requirements are also more stringent than others, which seems to give a rather unfair advantage in voting.
Still, a one of the best games I've ever played. You can be sure I'd play a sequel, regardless of which ending becomes canon, though I'm going to place another informal vote for the Secret Ending. I think it leaves the most potential storytelling options open.

I skipped all the diologue and the gameplay was shallow, why do people like this game? It's R-Type with RPG stats and not even good RPG stats.

I must say... times have truly changed indeed when it comes to gameplay. Back then, all there was game wise was Mario and Luigi, and very slowly, more games were made with more meaning. However, as time progressed, games took a different role, becoming more violent, wasting countless hours of life, and simply having no point. Not many things created from human beings like us have meaning anymore, especially when it comes to videogames. This game is a rare exception... it has life lessons for all of us to learn, and it is perhaps one of the best games I've played in my life. The dialogue is excellent, and I feel like the characters actually exist. Not many people make games with such detail as you had.... Congratutlations, 5/5. Easily one of the best games on Kongregate... I don't remember crying a tiny bit ever from a videogame

if nobody's noticed it yet, there's a mistake in the cutscene where you unlock the sawmine: instead of deadeye saying "Fine, I won't explain how the sawmine works then.", Deuce says it instead.

My browser closed down, I lost about an hour and a half of game D=. I've literally never been so gutted over a flash game. 5/5 regardless though.

Awesome game, even though I accidentally overwrote my save, I'm going to play it again (I was playing normal, got to enigma, started having a LITTLE difficulty, and wanted to compare easy, I didn't notice the warning message D:)

Amazing game. Like a good book, the storyline kept me hooked until the very end. Not many games can claim that with me.
