Overdrive needs to not make your ship disappear. Though I get that this game isn't about the shooting. Really good, for a flash game.

oh cmon, i understand dialog in a game, but the game itself isnt amazing at all, its like a book with a game, i like this kind of stuff, but its way TOO MUCH DIALOG, i want to play at least

I beat the first boss you're supposed to lose to, you get an achievement and instantly die, resumign story as normal. (THOUGH! Maybe it's a bug and I died at the same time?)

The combat system was not very flawed. The story was great. The upgrade system was nicly done. Overall it was a VERY good game and also i went right to hard and beat it :P.

Its one of those games that make you forget what you are doing or where you are. It really sucks you in and makes you feel like your in the game. Its music is beautiful, Its gameplay is a bit repetitive but it still has amazing story. 5/5 And keep up the good work

The creator says large games like this are difficult to sell, but these games are PRECISELY what the people want. All you have to do is exactly what you did, post it to a place like Kongregate, and instant sell there. Next, you start making revenue ;) but of course, all of us at kongregate get everything free of charge for just being plain awesome :P

Loving it. Even the collision detection with the environment. Just wondering on how a mountain can be upside down though. Hoping this one get's badges 5/5

I know probably no one will read this comment, but I still gotta say it.
This, in my opinion, is the best flash game ever made. I honestly wish that more AAA titles would be like this. All the dialogue was believable, there was a good amount of upgrades, and the combat wasn't half bad. If the creator of this game reads this, please try to add dialogue options next time though. I know its alot to ask for, but if you make a sequel for this game with dialogue options you could somehow make this masterpiece a little bit better. 5/5

Sorry...I mean, the story starts out slow...and it's nice after that...but tbh, games aren't made for story. Too often the story is an after-thought, yes, but this just takes up a lot of time in the beginning is all.

I don't want to penalize your overall rating with a 4 but I just can't give a 5 to a game that lets the RNG lock one of my weapons away for half the game because it just never appeared in the shop. That one of the other weapons was stuck >10 levels behind the others was kind of annoying too. I really, really like the overall package which makes the obvious hole all the more vexing.

5/5, my only complain is the living heart boss, there is no reason why it should pull you towards it in the direction of it's bullets, unless you have incredible shield and full hp ( or overdrive ) it is impossible to survive 3 of that attack on the last living heart boss. Again 5/5 but please, if you do make a sequel, take that out.

At first when i play i thought this gonna be over by 5 minutes because i naturally just don't like shooter games, and look, it just the same enemy and same boss every time... I ended up playing for 4 hours straight without even drinking water, it is just absolutely beautiful
guess a game with a real story really does make a difference :D

It's FULL of dialogue, so it's a good thing that dialogue is done well. It tends to be either well crafted humor or interesting character development. Also, thank heavens for the option to skip the rather wordy cut-scenes for those who want to get straight to the action. The fact that there is level design rather than just empty space to scroll through is a HUGE plus. I enjoyed the variation added by such things as floating islands and caverns. Another big plus is the upgrade system, which allows for a great deal of customization. Definitely a great game, 5/5 all the way.

When a flash game is made that takes up about 7 hours of my life and I enjoy it because of the story rather than the gameplay, then the creator has done something very right. Keep it up!

damn guys, i got all the possible endings on normal, but still no "ginny" ending. Do you have to play on hard or what?
