hands down the most involved project for a flash game I've ever seen, and additionally one of the best stories I've ever seen done in a video game. This is one of those games where despite fairly dated game mechanics (and I might add, quite solid) and basically being every shmups I've ever played, the story was good enough that I put up with it.
Don't have a vote system for the ending. Do what you, as the maker, feel is the correct way to go about things. I got the Ginny ending, but from what I've seen most people wouldn't bother with repeated play throughs, and probably wouldn't see multiple endings. With this one being the most difficult, but best I'd argue that it's quality should surpass what mere numbers suggest.

Overall a great game indeed, but there are for me a few annoyances. The English is mostly flawless, but sometimes it is really horrible. Please try to use an native English speaker proofread next time. I also want an option to customize my controls. Lastly, I would like to be able to re-read the in game help/hints/tutorial you get from NPC's at times from within a game menu instead of having to quit to the main menu and click a link that opens an external page. 4.5/5 if those were fixed, 3.5 now.

I love everything about this game! Oh, and I agree with KaolinC, mysticpickle, and ExtremistAvenger, they know what they're talking about. 5/5 and favorite.

Seriously I reckon this deserves more than a 5 star rating =)
If you are ever doing a sequel i would buy it/play it =)=)=)

Wow, I started playing this wanting a good ol fashion flight shooter, and what I got was something incredible. Great gameplay, wonderful music, very good graphics (Except a few really cheap ones I noticed, the weapon Icons were cheesy Paint shop squiggles lol), a tad confusing with somethings left unexplained, but still very enthralling storyline that keeps you wanting to play (I absolutely loved the story, really), good RPG mechanics. All in all this was a very well done game, and I applaud you Xdanond, this was one of the best Flash Games I have ever played, for a while there I completely forgot I was playing a Flash Game. I am generally very particular and skeptical of most games I play, so when I say great job, that means F'ing amazing work.
So thank you for giving me several hours of pure enjoyment, I thoroughly enjoyed my time here today, and will probably play it a few more times to see the other endings. Again great work mate, hope to see more of your work in the future.

Well, look like i've found a bug, thus i've saved my game yesterday at The end of time, two levels before iblis, I'm back to Planet enigma at the jungle maze, quite bothersome... Really good game though even if I have to redo some levels I will finish it just to see the end of the story hope you'll make a sequel !

After 6+ hours, I cleared this in one sitting. Congratulations xdanond, you have crafted yourself a true masterpiece that leaves me coming back for more; I'm playing a second time through as I bring this message to a close. You have kicked logic to the curb and did the impossible; you have made a gem that rivals, dare I say it, console games like Mass Effect in terms of story. In closing, a quotation from Double Zeta Gundam character Glemy Toto: "Tales of your feats will be told throughout the cosmos until the end of time."

I kinda feel like i have changed to another person as the story progresses in the game. I recommend this to anyone who appreciates a good story. 5/5, Better if would be possible to rate higher.

I noticed a tuning glitch, where when you get stuck in trees, and try to get out, the controls switch (up becomes down, left becomes right) and then you fly into them and get stuck and die.

Splendid game... ranks up there with sudarto's Epic War 3 and Krin's Sonny. Nonetheless, I do have one proposal that would greatly help this project: when we choose to start a new game plus, let players carry-over some of their selected Perks aswell.

Words cannot express how amazing this game is. Compelling story, wonderful music, and fantastic characters. Thank you for making this game.

I've found that a good game gives me a feeling that I've just finished a good book when I beat it. This is one such game. The characters were brilliantly done and complex, each and every one of them. They were individually motivated yet driven to the same goal, and still entirely believable at the same time.
My biggest concern came from the cafe conversations. I got used to them, but they sometimes created a bit of a mood whiplash as they were more mellow and sometimes robbed situations of their urgency. But past that, it was a wonderful game and truly a joy to experience.

The best game on Kongregate by far, can't believe it's on here. Everyone should leave a tip in the tip jar for them. GREAT JOB.

Great story, beautiful ending (I saved Ginny), what I would suggest for improvement is different bosses instead of the same ones with minor changes (they were good though) different levels (same thing) and more variation/diversity of enemies. 5/5 anyway for being an epic game.

Hmm. Adding a slow-moving, boring RPG with a rough 2D side-scrolling shooter just doesn't cut it for me. Don't get me wrong, I love RPGs, and I enjoy shooters, but the combination seems really odd. And the dialog is just too boring for me to enjoy it. It's nicely done, but it's just boring.

Found a glitch that put into an object and I got stuck and it killed me its happened like 3 or 4 times please fix it.

It is so depressing to see so many negative/hateful reviews. People nowadays don't appreciate good plots, captivating stories, and lively characters. Now it's about how much brutal action, buckets of gore, and the ability to tea-bag in multiplayer you can do. My thanks to Danond for breaking the mold of tower defenses and launching games on Kongregate. And for all the hater's who can't handle a good storyline, please, leave REAL videogames like this alone, we don't want you. Vote so that Danond can see this please.

It's just.....so....long. The dialogue didn't hook me at all and the only saving grace was the combat, sorry but I just can't finish this game. So close to the end but its just not worth it.

I have not even finished this game, and yet I am already reviewing it because it is THAT GOOD. The dialogue and characters were totally awesome and made me laugh out loud several times. The game play itself is flat out fun. The system is quite unique. Overall, this combines several genres into EPIC WIN. It well deserves the 5/5 stars I am giving it.

I apologize for the double post, but I also need to add that the music, art, dialogue...everything was really well thought out and fantastic, so hat's off to you. :)

You've masterfully combined game genres to make an amazing game...I must say I'm very impressed by your work. Great job!

This game has amusing characters, great story and nice dialog. The combat was clunky though. The art pretty good, except the saw mines. Something makes it so addicting. Hope for a sequel! 5/5
P.S Maybe if you die to a boss the game gives you a tip on how to beat him. :)

Call me an American, but there is way too much dialogue. When I finally got through the 8 hours of miserable text, it turned out that the game was very 80's. to much dialogue + 80's style gaming = 1/5.

Glad to see that there are different kinds of games out there. Really great idea for a game. I hope to see more games from you in the future, 5/5

Just beat the game, I got swig's ending, and the game was great too, the story and dialogue made up for the iffy combat.

In all honesty, the game play and mechanics are mundane, and nothing exceptional, but what makes this game extraordinary is the storyline and characters. Easily worth 5/5 stars, hands down.

There was a bit too much dialogue for me, although I did read a bit after the end of each level. I could tell what was happening most of the time and the multiple endings were great. The weapon shop was still a tad confusing with all the different numbers and stuff so I usually went off of what I thought was going to be the best weapon. All in all I gave the game 5/5 because of the great storyline and fun gameplay. Make a sequel, seriously.
