Slow-paced. A popup appeared in my face overtop of the return to base button and I was given the money:health power. It'd be nice to know what the heck happened. Lots of stuff needs polish, but the game is a good base to build from. A "shut the hell up and skip everything" option would be nice for people who just want to play.

A tallent such as yours seems waisted on flash games. You should be writing novels, screenplays or at least high end $60 games. The story was soo gripping and even though I dont tipicaly like shooters I'm going to play this game again. I genuinly enjoyed all aspects of this game but I feel you are capable of much much more.

The first time I played this game, I took one look at the amount of story and thought "tl;dr. It's a 2D shooter for gosh sakes. Can't you just say we need to save the galaxy or something?" and quit before playing a single level. But I just gave it another try from the beginning, and I gotta say that both the gameplay and story are ridiculously awesome in this game. Totally addicted. I am now a believer in this type of game. If you make a sequel, I might even pay you a small sum. 5/5

The conversations in cafeteria changes the possible game endings... then, EVER talk to who you want a related ending. Theres 4 possible endings, each one related to the "top 4" of cafeteria. I played twice, so, i know. + o keep this alive.

Pretty good game, but the sudden jump in difficutly once you reach the last system is a bit irritating, it gets a bit too grindy there

@SIclub Yes, I failed to consider the self-fix. I figured the overdrive would make this simpler. I suppose that self-fix helps to account for the damage you take during the final boss fight. That said, I'd love to have a fight that was less dependent on where the boss happens to fire his weapons. Perhaps zooming out when we get to a boss to allow for more projectiles in the area without completely covering the screen? Would make things a lot more hectic and a lot more fun, imo.

@ Abstract1: Lemme tell you that I defeated the final boss on hard mode with only 24 Health mods. I think 45 health mods is a bit on the overkill side.... Also remember to get self fix for your final skill, it's better than Overdrive II.

this game really helps me in a way that... well we really don't know whats going to happen tomorrow... so might as well do everything that fulfill our hearts today... really don't sit around, go do that crazy adventure you've always wanted to do but never got to or too scared to leave your room or your work buddies behind... no seriously... if its something your heart desires... go do it now! there's no start button, but there is a deadline... time don't wait! um... heh yeah... i want to travel all over the world with my mom... we'd just wander around and around working here and there, meeting people, just being free spirits.

and hey xdanond, you make really good games and i'm sure you do so because you love making them. so never let that money side deter you from making awesome games.

this game reminds me of some of the best rpgs out there, like final fantasy series, mass effect... and what makes a great rpg is the little things, the dialogues between the characters that shows their personality, their 'human' side, their perks... the relationship between these characters... that makes life fun... i guess that what makes life exciting... the interaction between individuals... xD thanks i learned something!

Absolutely beautiful game. I count this as raising the bar in flash gaming: well-considered gameplay, lovely graphics, and of course not a grammatical error to be found. You chose to create complicated villains and devote time and energy to all the characters, like a gardener watering his plants with care. I appreciated the order in which Mods were provided, especially that the economy mod (always the gamebreaker) was held until last. That choice I respect very much as an old gamer. If there is a sequel, I'd of course like to see some more variance in bosses, some more character animations, and perhaps a fork in the storyline vis-a-vis a couple of big choices for the main character which determine the flavor of the final scenes. Bravo! I couldn't stop playing this and stayed up WAY too late. 5/5

Hm, it seems like people aren't willing to respond to my comments, and instead just downrating them. I'd love to hear you defend the game against my critique instead of simply downrating it because you think that my somewhat aggressive typing might *insert sarcastic Foamy voice here* offend someone. I think this is a marvelous game and I would love to see more. This is for sure. After picking my own wish at the end of the game I felt a great deal of satisfaction in my choice. That said, rebut to my comments about the combat instead of downrating with zero response.

EXCELLENT game! EXCELLENT! Great storyline, great gameplay, great soundtrack, very good artwork, very imaginative and just an overall phenomenal RPG. After pulling an almost 10 hour marathon with this game I finished one play-through and I'm still eager for more. Hands down, 5/5!
This game should take its seat as Top RPG on Kongregate, those of you who agree, vote this comment up and give this game the 5 star rating it deserves.

Ugh, since people clearly can't think for themselves when it comes to my comment previous, I'll elaborate. Remember when Ginny said that you should dodge what comes at you, that your shield is there to take the odd shot? Yeah, that's all well and good except when I needed to put in 45 modules into health to take down the Incarnate, and that's with the 10% heal from using overdrive. I was left with a sliver of health when I finally killed him on Hard difficulty. The point I'm trying to make is that if you're going to make such statements in the game, you'd do well to create a skill-testing boss fight, rather than one that requires you to get very lucky. On top of that, you have a % chance to dodge an attack which adds more RNG to the combat system. I hope whoever is reading this actually understands my previous comment a little more now.

I spent a long time playing & enjoying this game, i got close to level 100 in character..but how has someone got to level 18,000 with over 100,000 mods installed!?

Whoever coded the final boss battle with the Incarnate (trying to avoid spoilers) really needs to be choked. It's one massive f-ing RNG-fest where you have to pray half the time that you're not going to get red-lasered while blue balls of death fly your way. Holy crap, if you're going to make another one of these, and I hope you do, try not to have whoever was coding the boss fights be high on shrooms beforehand. If you're going to make an RPG with hell-shooter fighting, try to make it an actual hell-shooter, and not some RNG bulls***.

As such... I can vote for no ending provided to vote for. There is none that stands above the rest, save that single one not provided.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Ah... finally managed to get all the endings... What I don't like, is after watching them all, I find I am only able to vote on each individual one... yet, to me, the Special ending is the most rewarding. Through the simplicity of it, you are able to grant the wish you would give for each individual, though for many, it is in a manner different to the individual wish. For example, Deuce doesn't end up with 5 different women! And Johnny... well, let's say that his individual ending is a little... regret filled. Whilst in the Special (read group) ending, there is no regret.

This is a game that is meant to be played by all. This could easily be right next to final fantasy VII in terms of great RPGs. The story is never dull, The music is fantastic, and the characters are truly people that players would want to know. The gameplay is also very fantastic and fun to play. It was a very interesting step making a space shotter/RPG, but this proves without a doubt that there are still some wonderful surprises to be had with gaming.

It'd be nice if there was a comprehensive guide on which order each person must be spoken to in the cafe, so we could get the sense of achievement having gotten all endings... but I guess I'll have to make do with youtube. I'm not sure which endings are more moving, the special ending, or the Neferiti/Ginny/Mare/Tessa/Dedai endings.

This game by itself is an epitome storytelling gaming magic. So lets break this down....
Gameplay: 5/10...Reason? It's too repetitive, the enemies are easily forgettable, well except the final boss...Though I find it funny that the characters do question the repeated enemies....(could this a parody on yourself?)
Characters: 10/10 Reason? The natural feel for the characters and their backstory are well integrated with the forward storyline, all that's needed is to talk with them. Even the cutscenes show emotion of these great characters. A bit cliche at times, but still overall great.
Story: Beautiful; putting this on a number scale would disgrace it. Every single element of the story played on each other, despite the repeated enemies in the gameplay.
Overall: This game doesn't deserve a number scale of any kind to rate it, it's simply a game that if you like story and well tuned characters with, well then this is the game for you

Invulnerability and max modules: max defense and intelligence, put rest into luck. Get insurance. GET INSURANCE! Get defensive shielding (bugged; gives MUCH more than it says). Final mods should be the after 5-15 limit mods are maxed (needed for combat!), work on keeping mods maxed in the order of health-moola-exp-shields. Level 2647, fights before Iblis insurance gives me 2.3 Billion moola, 16 levels, I have 18 million shield strength, all modules/weapons stay maxed.

I actually kinda hate games like this because they take commitment.. You can never just "play" a game with such a rich story, you always get attached and then your left with that funny empty feeling after you beat it, thinking "What the heck am I gonna play now?"...

Am I the only one who spent 30 minutes wondering what the heck a "moola boost" was until I figured out moola is slang for money? -_-''

For anyone trying a No-Death run, be careful of terrain. You can get trapped in a corner in places like the astroid field. There's also a glitch in some areas where the terrain will DRAG YOU INTO IT, killing you. An example is the second city, in the middle of the dome-like building. DO NOT go in between the 2 pillars in the middle of the dome or you will be dragged in and you WILL DIE.

Damn!
if i was in any game studio i would surely invite you to work in some game studio, man you have a damn talent for storytelling and game design.
My only complain about the game, is a very small one: the ships, you´re repeating the bosses and creeps over and over again, i think should be a little more of an variation, but despite that very tiny detail, you game is awesome.
In the end, you game is a 4.9/5 to me. very near to perfection, but that damn little detail of the ships are a bit anoying.
Well, i do really expect you dont have complaints about constructive criticism.
xD
Thank for make this awesome game. ^^
