any idea as to why my game file keeps getting deleted
this is not lowering my rating for the game but it is impeding my ability to play through the entire game

Congratz danond! in just a few days this game has already soared in rank and is even on the top page! and is the 2nd game under the shooter catagory!

Omg the storyline is soo awesomesauce, and I love the characters, they all have their own personalities and the dialog is fun to read. Deuce should definitely go with Tessa. I'm almost done with the second map part with an awesome ship.. This game is amazing.. But now I'm pissed. after I saved the game and exited, there was a storm that caused the power to go out. I came back and I didn't have any save file.. which I don't know if it was the power fail or the game, because I saved and exited. :( I want to know what happens in the end.. but I don't want to do the game over.. for the second time!!

Unbelievable game. Great story to go along with the well-balanced shooter. This is, by far, the best game on Kongregate. The story keeps you engaged, the concept is unique and the music is definitely worth not muting. Can't wait to see it on top of the 'Highest Rated Games' list.

I didn't know I would find so awesome game here. Story is just great, entertaining, funny and sometimes even touching. I felt like the game itself was just addition to the plot. I played whole day and will play another to see all the endings. Music is brilliant and well matched, sounds are quite good too. About the game-play. Sometimes the background is too fancy, mouse control would be a good idea too, ship moves quite strangely every now and then. But still... I couldn't stop playing, I wanted to know what will happen next which is the biggest plus of the game. I hope you will make more of games which even better story and game-play.

do the questions you answered in the beginning dictate the conversations? the main character fits to what i answered at least
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
excelent history... but... the dialogues are too long for the each level...
i'd increase the number of levels and distribute the history among them

Loved it. The intro fight with the somewhat upgraded ship before the crash makes me want to have other similar battles. Maybe Mare with his ship as a playable in a side mission? Swig with the Mothership during one of the defensive battles? I think it would be interesting to play around with the other units like that, maybe for bonus moolah or something.

@ninja foot: So you're a bit disappointed that this reminds you of a professional game for a slick console? Yeah xdanond, you really shot low on this one. All you did was make a game that looks like I show be paying for the right to play it.

While the story is good in a JRPG way, I wish it were more connected to the gameplay. The backgrounds and bosses get reused, the mechanics are simple, and only a couple encounters are particularly relevant to the story. Plus, so many story events which would make great levels are limited to just text. Feels like a missed opportunity.

BEAUTIFUL game. Great character, well thought our story, and a good old fashion side scrolling shooter to boot. This is Simply brilliant. I do hope for a sequel although to top this might be hard.
also how about the idea of making the overdrive kinda match the weapon in use. it might just be me but the idea of using the overdrive Sawmines and it looking like a giant saw blade flying in front of you rip to pieces everything in to path intrigues me greatly...

I have played many games, watched many movies, read many books. None of them compared to this.
It made me laugh, it made me afraid, it made me cry and it made me think of the characters as family. I could play this game a thousand times over if only to re-experience the joy and wonder that the story is in this game. I don't care if the gameplay itself was a little repetative, the story alone in this game has made it a favorite that I shall not forget.
Thank you for this beautiful game, and for fulfilling a wish I never knew existed =)

This game is amazing to play but a question arises in my mind - Why can't we go through obstacles when our enemy ships can pass over them?
Well a great games :)

was a bit disappointed with gameplay. seems to remind me of some japanese psp games, but i cant seem to stress how much i love the story. I wish there were more games with as much development.

**Major Spoilers**:
I love how almost everyone's name is actually their species or some other aspect of what they are. Ginny-Djinni, Neferiti-Eferiti, Kitsune the foxkind, Johnny-Janni, Swig is from a race of alcoholic pandas, Mare-Marid, Aurica-Oracle, Deadeye/Dedai is blind, Starwish/Wishing Star
Darn it! Why do I only get one birthday wish!?
Odd, I didn't see any Dao. Maybe I think too much in D&D terms.

wow. you could teach the big game studios a thing or two good difficulty curve engaging story and characters that I actually found engaging. great job hope its the first of many

Awesome game!
The gameplay and side shooter is often used, but there is not many times it is this great!
Keep up the good work!
Can you please make a sequel? :D

just got an ending. shame I couldn't get all the reqs- and not like I'm going to go throught all THAT again just for an ending!

This is a very good game. The dialog feels a lot like star ocean, one of my most favorite games. You would always have a limited number of interactions you can have between each mission. I liked the combat somewhat, but the main heart of the game is in its amazing dialog.

This game was like reading a great book/manga or watching a good anime. You wanna get thru it so fast cause you can't wait to see what's next, and you don't wanna stop! But when you finally reach the ending, it feels like a part of you has been ripped away and that you wish for a sequel to be there waiting with open arms and a warm smile so that you may begin again down the path of another great story. Yet another game that belongs in a Story & Art catagory, This was truly a wonderful game and I hope you DO make another. 5/5 just seems so insignificant but that is the highest I can rate. Thanks for your work!

An etremly well made game. Capable of going very far! The gameplay lacks a little (especially compared to the storyline), but makes up for it in dialouge. I have added this to my favorites and gave a 5/5. You my friend, have my kudos.

All I can say.. this is amazing.
And the endings.. well - that is the only game for last year that made me nearly cry. You are an amazing writer. I will be waiting for sequel..
Still some flaws in game design. 7th weapon is the only you need and most powerful. :)

Kudos xdanond! The concept is great! The game is simple to get into, sound is amazing, the character story build is great! The quality of the game is something you'd expect from a handheld console. One suggestion though: when upgrading weapons, the weapon levels seem to skip. I.E: machgun lvl 8, bomb lvl 5, machgun lvl 3, bomb lvl 2, etc. This can be a little confusing sometimes.
Still, 5/5!

the between mission cutscenes seem a little... long. they're interesting, but they do drag on a little. the problem is, i'm still interested, so i can't skip them... a lot of games these days do that for me... anyone else get that, or am i just getting impatient in my old age?

I just noticed that the title screen Japanese is a bit off. Nonetheless, this is a surprisingly well-made game. I haven't quite beaten it yet and I'm worried about the replay value after spending so many hours getting through it the first time on normal difficulty, but I expect it will still be fun the next time around.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yeah, the first Firebolt is a pain. I died a split second after I got the achievement "You beat the first Firebolt!". And I was level 100+, had around 9000 hp, 500 shield, 100/s regen.

after playing through most of it, these are the only things i can find wrong with this game.
1. The font. Could be more sleek and stylish to go along with the rest of the game.
2. Drawing quality. I love all the characters and their appearances, its just that they dont have that 'professional look' to them. They look more like someone spent 20 minutes drawing up a character. They aren't bad, but i think it would greatly increase the appeal of the game, given that most of the enjoyment is just reading the dialogues and watching the characters. 5/5
