Pretty good game, I like it. One thing I gotta say is the defense tab needs to be way cheaper to than it is, like borderline absurdly cheap... because it is worthless, just about the only decent thing in there is Nova... and I'm not even sure if that works to be honest. I went 96 waves without being touched, once, Never spent anything on defense (aside from nova) one other thing though, am I missing something? or is the gravity skill the exact opposite of what you'd want in a tower defense game? pulling enemies TOWARDS you? what in the actual...
Gravity pulls all enemies towards the center of the gravity-field so abilities like bounce, electricity, etc. can easier affect multiple enemies. I might add a damage per second to that ability. Enemies are stronger in the latest version. I also planned boss waves so defense might be more useful to you soon. :)

Need:
- block of the health shown near wave number
- AND VERY IMPORTANT tower now predicts number of shots if there is only one shot needed, but when its 2 or more it don`t predicts and keep shooting, losing time to shot other blocks.

No pause button, no variation in income, no true depth. It might become something interesting, but in its current state I can't recommend it.

game really needs a lower quality option. I can't change it cause this is a unity game. But any way to help us would be great!

The game has a large selection of different abilities for your tower, but the problem is that the cost of these upgrades all increase with each purchase making the most cost effective strategy to just purchase all of them. So many abilities yet every game you will buy the same things in the same pattern because that is how to do it the most efficiently. If you look at games like undefeated spider there is a lot of variation in the enemy and synergy between abilities so you can actually benefit from focusing on a few things and fall behind if you spread out your points to everything.
Thats a very good point, you are absolutly right. Since I planned more upgrades (even upgrades to the elemental effects) I am going to focus on different possibilities to play the game as well.

Nice concept but i feel the soft caps are pretty easy to get at. Maybe, and i hope it is the case, that i am now focusing on the good upgrade because so far, i dont see any points in raising defense because 1 shot kill seems to be the only way to win in this game. 5/5 anyway cuz you seems to care and want to polished it. Continue your good work.

I love this game. I think it is incredibly unique. A proper prestige system would be nice after you complete all the research. Other than that, I see few flaws with this game. Good job!
Interest is now capped. The game is going to receive multiple currencies. I never expected anyone to reach such a huge amount of money in such a short amount of time. :)

Research doesn't seem to progress properly in background. on chrome when I open another tab the research seems to go at about 1/2 the speed of the game.

Well this is it for m...got to like 450~ ish and game froze some Web Gl or something like that crashed it. Was going to just leave it on overnight but meh guess not. If it helps I had been maxing stats in every category so maybe the game starts freezing with that much stuff to handle. Ill prolly try it out in a few days when some new stuff is added.

Resource counter overflow bug is still present, switching to signed long (2^63) does not solve the issue, because resources grow exponentially with high enough interest rate.
Interest is now capped. I never planned to even go to the limit of a signed/unsingned integer since I have planed multiple currencies with different usages. (Example: 1.000.000 Resources => 1 Rare Resource, 1.000.000 rare resources => 1.000.000 precious resource, precious resources can be used to buy permanent tower upgrades or something like that).

A huge thank you for all of your feedback. This community is just awesome. I am going to release a balance-focused update tomorrow which hopefully fixes the out-of-memory issue too. For the prestige system I planned a blueprint-feature where you can pre-design a tower by selecting the upgrades you want to start with.

This game needs more balancing. I am always getting harassed by enemies at around round 20. How am I supposed to protect myself (Besides saving tons of money)???
It's very hard to balance a game in a way that it feels right for everybody. At the moment some people complain that the game is too easy/breaks too early because the updates are way too cheap while others can't get past the first 100 waves. I'll try my best to add enough depth to the game so that everybody gets the most out of it.

First off, interesting game, love to see how it develops, more importantly though: Interest is a very bad idea in most games that does not properly account for it, it completely breaks this game :/ (maxed all skills in less than half an hour), would be nice if it was removed or tweaked to be capped at a fixed value based on the level, a static 1% up to a maximum of 15 currency per level, for example. Thanks.
Since Unity is not optimized for web/mobile games it is very CPU/GPU intensive. I am going to switch to mobile shaders. I think they should be pretty sufficient for web games.
I am sorry but I am not able to reproduce this bug. The wave changes whenever the progressbar goes from green to red again. Red = Wave is active, Green = Peace-time (no new enemies are spawning).

When you have too much money, the counter overflows to negative values. This breaks the game, because you cannot buy anything then.

Game won't run for me in the current build of Firefox. Gives the following error: "The browser could not allocate enough memory for the WebGL content. If you are the developer of this content, try allocating less memory to your WebGL build in the WebGL player settings." I have 8gig of ram with no other programs open, so I'm thinking this is due to the program rather than my computer.
According to the unity devs it seems like the unity WebGL player requires a non-fragmented memory stream of the specified size. So it seems if multiple tabs are opened and closed at non-specific intervalls, the allocated browser memory is going to be highly fragmented. But if that would be the case then opening the game in a new browser instance should fix this issue. I'll dig a little deeper into this issue. Don't worry, I'm pretty sure it is not related to your PC having too little ram. ;)

Nice game, but a bit unbalanced... as long as you keep basic damage over enemy health, anything else becomes pretty much irrelevant. It would be nice if you be able to construct several towers!

Can't play since the latest update, just gives me an error msg when it tries to load now: "The browser could not allocate enough memory for the WebGL content. If you are the developer of this content, try allocating less memory to your WebGL build in the WebGL player settings."

@NormaTheNorman It's because you don't have enough storage, it has nothing to do with the game, so don't downvote it.

This game has a LOT of potential, Kudos to the dev! Doing a great job, and listening to feedback given, thank you for all your efforts!
Thank you! I really appreciate the feedback given so far. Since the players are the ones who should enjoy the game I think the best thing to do is to listen to their requests and include them into the development process. What am I going to do with a game that nobody likes apart from me? ;)

And pretty soon your money rolls off the screen and all the purchase options are red because the game can't handle how rich you are...

What's the time between videos? Would it be possible to get a count down displayed so we know how muhc longer we need to wait before watching another one?
I am sorry, the Kongregate API only provides me information once a video is available. There is no way of knowing when the next video is going to be available. If they add a way to somehow retrieve the time until the next video I will gladly add a timer. :)

The interest skill breaks the game. You should put a cap on it. As it is, you can watch a few videos and get absurd compound interest. I'm currently at about 25% interest per wave, which very quickly turns into millions of resources.

I can't confirm if it saves or not because now I get this message: The browser could not allocate enough memory for the WebGL content. If you are the developer of this content, try allocating less memory to your WebGL build in the WebGL player settings.
This is all too common, and I don't think it's my fault. I have to blame the Devs since this is a common problem. Rated down on Kong, but don't have a clue what else to do. One more nice, interesting game down the drain.
Win 7 home premium. FF Mozilla.
I am sorry to hear that. Thats the main reason why I hate using engines. Awesome for prototyping and/or deploying on multiple platforms but no way to find out how the underlying engine manages stuff like that. >.< Please try loading the game on our domain without the Kongregate API (http://www.fs-studios.com/games/perfecttower/index.html), I want to make sure that it is 100% related to how unity initializes the game. (Might take some time to download all the assets.)

A few suggestions:
-Increase the rate at which enemies get stronger (double or triple it)
-Make health more cost-effective at later stages, and decrease the effect of lifesteal and defense
-Add tooltips (what is the darkness offensive upgrade?)
-Double the game speed (or an option for it)
-Avoid shooting at enemies that will already die, it currently only works if enemies die in one shot
-Add auto-upgrader: selects random upgrade and then waits for the cash (but for environmental reasons, please no auto-reset after death)
-A way to know how much damage the enemies do (preferable after calculating the defense), it's hard to guess if you haven't been hit for a long time
-A boost research lab, gives permanent boosts instead of unlocking them
-Make the gravity effect not block the nova effect
Wow, thanks for the feedback. I'll copy this comment as it is in my shedule. I cannot guarantee that I'm going to implement everything exactly as you described it (because some things are conflicting with my planned features) but I definitly take most of it into consideration. :)

Awesome game so far! 2 comments: first, can you maybe add a set "close upgrades window" button for the upgrades? I find that it acts weird trying to click outside the screen. Second, is there a way to make it so that the tower doesn't shoot, say, 3 shots at an enemy that only requires 2, thereby wasting that 3rd shot?
Thank you for your feedback. :)
The first point is a rather difficult because it seems like everyone here has a different preference. At the moment you can close an upgrade tab via Escape, by clicking outside the window, by clicking at the background of the window, by clicking at its symbol again and by pressing the number key (1-6) according to the position of the tab. Well I guess one more X-Button is not going to hurt. ;)
About the second point, the tower only calculates if the last missile is going to kill the current primary target at the moment. I'll improve the prediction system in one of the next versions.
I think thats going to be a serious performance issue. Expecially in the later waves. Once I optimized the hell out of unity I might consider adding a 4x button. (at least as a secret feature) ;)
They currently only affect the starting resources. I actually planned specific functions for them in a later version. I'm sorry that they are rather boring right now. :)

Maybe a explanation will come in handy per skill. For example i don't know if the gambling skill is per shot or turn?
Finally found the bug. Thanks to everyone who mentioned it. The chance of absorption was inverted. Instead of 0.1% at level 1 you have a 99.9% chance since the random value and the absorb chance parameters were swapped in the condition. ;)

for some reason i can't die anymore ... i think this is a glitch or something but i have around 20 block touching my tower and no health being taken of ....
