I would like to add that there are many different cards to beat dim shields. Steal, defrag, pulvy, sofo, butterfly, sofree, monumentum, chimeras, saphiers to name a few. There are also tactics that beats dim's for example stalls spell damage decks and most otks. Dim shield is not op only in restricted metas.

@awm17: Raising the cost of cost of phase shield wouldn't help the issue, they still have 3 turns to accumulate the quanta. Making it last two turns and raising the price is just asking for it to barely ever see use. Making it last two turns and leaving the cost the same or decreasing it a tiny bit would help. As for bonewall, bonewall is fine. It isn't all that strong against creature heavy decks, and even decks with few creatures, if you don't have upkeep, then it isn't nearly as good as other shields.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
On the same train of thought the bone shield also need to be toned down (say 5 shields to start and +1 for each death).

@aefields: I have to agree with you about the phase shield. It needs to more expensive (casting cost) and last less (2 turns?). The one way around them I have found is using air nymphs to generate lots of unstable gas to do huge spell damage. Phase dragons are also problematic since even with a fire shield there is nothing that can be done to keep them from eating half your life.

dugong: Fire dies to fire. Seriously, I beat most mono fire rushes by stealing their fire shield, it's hilarious. That, and fire dies to any kind of CC.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Dugong - Not only I would play aether without dimshield, I have, and have ranked high in Tournaments because of it. The UGs are a good alternative to Dim Shield, and a trio does not necessarily mean unstable quanta base (Check Poison Dials for an example, folks.) Also, I really doubt you killed false god in the first try, and if you did, then it was just incredible luck. Fire Shield falls short of some Shields you can use with Light - Hope, for example. As a conclusion? The game is not unbalanced. You're just new.

@aefields: I kinda took another way out of my misery: I just reset my account. With Life/Air I could hardly beat L3 AIs and never reached score > 500. This time i started with fire and it's a walk in the fckin park. I killed the false god on first try. I do same dmg or more than with light/air and my phoenixes (of which i could already buy 5 - more cash than i EVER had with the light/air) just revive, yayz. Oh and just as a bonus i can play monocolor, my fire shield is way better than the light starter shield and i got a permanent-removal in red which is pretty cheap for 3. So as a conclusion for me: It's not just phase shield that's unbalanced - it's just the whole game xD
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@dugong: Well, yes, phase shield is way overpowered. Do what I did: as soon as you can buy and upgrade, make a deck with part ether and phase shields. You win. Just like me. But, please, don't put phase shields in your arena decks. Use them against arena. Don't put them in arena.
My score today: 31629 - but I don't use phase shields against humans - it's just too lame.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@menifest, there is an automatic mulligan once/game when you start with no 0 cost cards. I don't agree with a manual mulligan because it will help mono aether getting shield, OTK's getting certain cards, mono death getting SoSac and a lot of other examples.

Aarikku. By the sound of it I can tell you played very few games. In elements there are thousands of different decks and many different strategies and just playing pillars and play big things turn 2 won't win you all games. I would recommend you to playa bit more before you comment again. Also player with most plays right now got 40 000 plays..
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Aariku: Most decks can't play their expensive cards turn 2 or 3. The fire starter deck is mostly about getting those dragons out turn 2 or 3, or even turn 1 with some luck. Then watching them dying to the eternal plethora of counters to them.

I try to play as many Kongregate TCGs as possible, and - sorry - this one was not one of the better ones. The resource system was really silly. Starting with a handful of Pillars makes it so that you can basically just throw your entire hand onto the field without caring how much anything costs.
I wouldn't have minded that as much if the game seemed designed based on the assumption that you WOULD get ridiculous levels of Quantums in an average game, but the cards weren't. There was a card that sacrificed a creature for Quantums – I never had to activate it, so I sold them all. Fire Bolt also seemed designed for a slower game; it read to me as “kill any creature”.
If you look at a game like Magic the Gathering, you're only allowed to place one Basic Land (or Pillar, in this case) per turn. It makes it so that the game progresses much more slowly, so you actually have reason to play your weaker cards in the early game instead of being able to throw out Crimson Dragons on turn 2 or 3.

Doesn't apper to be a viable Option in Life/Air. That would throw me 3-colored while Aether just chills with a stable mana base. It also only makes 20dmg/card while the shield easily blocks 40+. Not to mention it still doesn't solve the issue of me wasting an epic ton of mana on creeps just missing the shielded enemy.
And about "playing aether" - Would you REALLY play Aether without phase or the other "cannot be attacked" shield in your deck at least 1time/15cards?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Please, stop saying "Playing aether." Aether is not only DimShield. Further on, Air has Unstable Gas, and Unstable Gas can bypass the Dimensional Shield.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Maybe phase shield is balanced later in the game when you have more cards. The problem is i started with Light and Air/Water and i don't have many cards yet. So everytime i draw an enemy playing aether it's just a default loss. And that's just lame.

PvP is back in our dear Elements 1.325. Use ctrl+f5 or do a cache clear if it doesn't update for you. Feel free to downvote the other comment and upvote this one.

@dragtom: The cost is irrelevant when you HAVE to account for it or lose.
It also makes time useless, as well as light, life and water essentially useless as well.
Even at two turns, it is still stronger then dusk mantle in terms of damage reduction.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
explain to me, with the high cost, the limited amount of turns avaible, and the tons and tons of counters, how phase shield is OP.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Why say same things over and over again? Won't help. The developer only answers on email from a certain person ( the admin ) and that email has already been sent.

i think its good if ppl keep saying that the servers are suffering from problems i just found out and a lot of stuff before
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Mainly, the purpose of nightmare is to mess up card drawing and stop you from playing as many things. Obsidian dragons are expensive, even in a mono dark, so it's a... decent play... I guess.

@jra31392: Which badge? The 500 score one? If that is the one you are talking about, i'm inclined to laugh in pity. That is super easy, can be done within the first hour of starting. Seriously, people should learn to ask for help. You can't do everything.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I just beat a false god. And didnt get the badge. iv spent 2 years on this game playing like 2 or 3 a day in school and i finally got the fake god that uses all vampires and i i beat him and no badge. User is Valveless.

Pkmn: "This one is a grindffest, and it is the same for all of them I've played, except for some sandbox-ish simulators for popular card games." Compare any real-life CCG. Or, for computer games, Etherlords, Wizard 101, Spectromancer ... The advancement pace of Etherlords is near perfect.

@Tendothewk0: If you don't like arena, don't play it. People put decks are going to win, even if they are super common.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The arena has to be the gayest thing I've ever seen. Why does everyone just play with a bunch of tap-out decks that have double the normal life. What fun is that.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Lord/Pkmn: Do arena. A ton of different decks, a ton of different ways, and a ton of rares. What more do you want? And btw, I'd only consider a game a grindfest if you were doing the same thing over and over and over (see CM.) At least in elements, or at least in the arena, it's diverse.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This game is indeed grindy if you're incapable of playing PvP consistently. D/C "ing" 90% of your games makes it very difficult to get anywhere.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I would also like to point out that there is a trainer where you have access to endless with ups and rares. http://www.elementsthegame.com/trainer
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Pkmn337: It doesn't HAVE to be a grindfest though, thats the thing. Most tournaments are unupped and you really only need to have grinded for a few hours at most, and that is only to get a slightly larger card pool so you can make more diverse decks. Similarly, you can just only spin the oracle and play like 3 games a day and still make money, its slow, but it works. People turn it into a grindfest when it really doesn't need to be turned into one.

Fail.
You have obviously not played many such games.
One of the nice things about CCGs is that they don't have to be a 'grindfest'.

@pojochiggen What's the point if everyone just buys their rares? Some rich kid just buys a bunch of rares then looks up decks. I prefer it how it is.
