I can't help but notice that each element has a potion, but only some AIs use the potion when they're weaker than a half-blood. This implies that some potions are too OP for elders.

I hate it.
Purely luck determined.
Such a bore.
Really.
If it were not on the 2009 quest thing, I would not go near it
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It isn't a flawless game, because such thing doesn't exist. But it's awesomely balanced ( I mean, 12 elements? most CC have only a few), and the most important thing: it's free to play, fair and constantly updated

I know the oracle 'glitch' blah is talking about: it happens if your connection drops after you go to oracle, before you click 'what is my fortune?'; it won't be able to collect your fortune from the server, but did that you went to the oracle. But it's your connection. a mutant gets an ability not equal to what the card does; hovering over the card is pointless. You can hover over a played creature to see if it's airborne.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Good game but I keep losing games because it says that I have 'lost connection to the server.' If only Tony Abbot would give us better internet ;)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@blah3: I have never heard of people complaining about the oracle like that. And mutations have NEVER had that problem for me, or anyone I can think of.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
bugs e.g.: visit oracle - fails because of server glitch ... but then bans you from clicking the button again for a day. Trivial to fix. Cards that say "X: does Y" after a mutation, but the "does Y" is wrong 20-30% of the time. You can't play a CCG if it's telling you the wrong things. Plus all the places where key information isn't displayed on screen (e.g. which creatures can fly)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@blah3: Elaborate. Basic bugs tells us absolutely nothing. And if it did per say ruin it, it would get a lot more complaints then just by a few people

@omegareaper7 & Vara: A better example of a non-random card game would be Spectromancer; Excluding the Chaos class (which is, predictably, all about random damage/healing), there are only a few cards with random effects, and it's a lot less make-or-break than random draws or hit chances. Plays quite differently than Elements, but the concept is a lot closer than Kongai's, which I would compare more to Pokemon (not a bad thing, mind you).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Vara: What kongai lacks for draws, it makes up for with other random number based stuff. Having 95% hit rate stuff miss twice in a row is just plain BS.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@omegareaper7: as a counterpoint to your argument "of course it is random, it is a card game"—Kongai is a card game where you do not have to deal with random card draws.

So let me get this straight -- You say that it's hard to understand deck improvement and need to play a ton of games to grasp it, and then proceed to ask us "where is the challenge". What.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@lordzorak: By asking for help. I will say now that this is not a quick game to learn, but that is what the chat and forums are for. And if you don't want help, then there is really no use in complaining either. There are lots of tutorials and people willing to help.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@omegareaper7 Of course it is a card game. So how does one get this great knowledge of deck building that takes on AI3 without playing a single game? You have to play a ton of games or you can just look it up. While I cannot say there is no progression of skill, as you can grind it out to upgrade cards, the time commitment for the little reward is not in a good relationship (especially the cost/reward of upper levels). I do not expect to kill false gods on day three of playing, I would have like to see a myself gradually improving against level 2, which after completing all the quests can still present problems. But where is the challenge? For me, it's not there. Glad you enjoy it though.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Lordzorak: Of course it is random, it is a card game for god sake! If you expect a card game to not be random, there is something wrong with you. Also, it doesn't take long at all to improve your deck. You can have a deck that can consistently beat ai3 before even playing a single game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Many seem to like this, but that does not include me. It is all too random. If I want that, I can play Sorry! or Chutes and Ladders. Also, the path to improving your deck is long and ineffective. I salute those who stick it out. I may be missing out on a great game, but I just see that.

@Malinca - One of the soul catchers may have been upgraded, which is why you didn't get it. Further on, two last shouldn't amount to more gold because you were never "close" to winning the card (In 1st and 2nd you're close as in the third one will decide, if 2nd and 3rd are equal, you lost the "chance" when you spun the 2nd that was different from the 1st.)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Malinca if you were playing against the Level 4 AI it's possible that one of the soul catchers was upped and one was unupped, so they didn't actually match. Also, only the first two matching counts for the 5 bonus electrum, not the last two.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@power2fly For sure. I'd play good money to have a portable version of this game. This is one of the best games on Kongregate, and better than most games on the Apple/Android store.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Got three soul catchers in a row but it didn't give me the card
Also, at some point, I remember getting two cards in a row, but they were the last two, not the first two. That doesn't count to get more gold?
Other than these small bugs, this game is great! 5/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This game is just awesome but i kinda feel like the storyline is short and it would need more cards...maybe in an update-i hope! Anyways,5/5!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@limbodog: Odds are your cards have just been relocated and changed a tiny bit. Ask around in chat and I'm sure we can revive your favourite deck. The game hasn't changed very much, and if you really lost a lot of cards that might be fixable too.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Aw man. I used to love this game a long time ago, now all my cards don't work properly and I'm missing a ton of 'em. That's very sad.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@edcedcedc He knows the game really well though. If someone completely new to the game tried the same, they would have failed unless they got really lucky.
