Pkmn: "This one is a grindffest, and it is the same for all of them I've played, except for some sandbox-ish simulators for popular card games." Compare any real-life CCG. Or, for computer games, Etherlords, Wizard 101, Spectromancer ... The advancement pace of Etherlords is near perfect.

@Tendothewk0: If you don't like arena, don't play it. People put decks are going to win, even if they are super common.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The arena has to be the gayest thing I've ever seen. Why does everyone just play with a bunch of tap-out decks that have double the normal life. What fun is that.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Lord/Pkmn: Do arena. A ton of different decks, a ton of different ways, and a ton of rares. What more do you want? And btw, I'd only consider a game a grindfest if you were doing the same thing over and over and over (see CM.) At least in elements, or at least in the arena, it's diverse.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This game is indeed grindy if you're incapable of playing PvP consistently. D/C "ing" 90% of your games makes it very difficult to get anywhere.

I would also like to point out that there is a trainer where you have access to endless with ups and rares. http://www.elementsthegame.com/trainer

@Pkmn337: It doesn't HAVE to be a grindfest though, thats the thing. Most tournaments are unupped and you really only need to have grinded for a few hours at most, and that is only to get a slightly larger card pool so you can make more diverse decks. Similarly, you can just only spin the oracle and play like 3 games a day and still make money, its slow, but it works. People turn it into a grindfest when it really doesn't need to be turned into one.

"Any CCG (Or TCG) is a grindfest."
Fail.
You have obviously not played many such games.
One of the nice things about CCGs is that they don't have to be a 'grindfest'.

@pojochiggen What's the point if everyone just buys their rares? Some rich kid just buys a bunch of rares then looks up decks. I prefer it how it is.

I only recently started playing this game on Kongregate. I realize there's an issue with server connectivity for PVP games. Does anyone know when this issue will be fixed?

@cannbolt7 Eww, I have put a lot of time into getting certain cards, Why would I just sell half my life for a new copy. no offence, but please no. I'd prefer just more frequent updates, but I love the game how it is and need nothing more from it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Werewolfking34: Arena. Get a nice bronze grinder deck set up (see the chat), and you'll get shards left right and center.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@ cannonbolt7 I hope this game never gets a sequel, especially since this game gets (although infrequently) an update. Creating a sequel will split the already not-so big community in half, giving both games a very small community; a lot will quit because of that. See sacred seasons for an example.

"The element of fun is gone after two hours" If you see "fun" as an option in the drop down menu, you should see someone about that

RabidPwny: The majority of the cards in the bazaar are fully usable and can make fine decks. People don't seem to realize how to use the cards they are given or ask help. It takes an hour to get to 500 score with any decent deck. The game does not need to be a grind fest, you can play minimally and still play in tournaments and win. It is what you make of it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Any CCG (Or TCG) is a grindfest. I don't see why people keep coming and say "omg grindfest game sucks" And you CAN cash in to get rares (shards and foil chimera) so if you wanna cut down on your farm time, you can do that.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Not sure why people rate-down comments that say the game is a grindfest... It's true. At least it's not like some other games (*cough*ninjakiwi*cough*) that ask for money every 10 seconds, but it's still a pain. I'm only playing it because it's part of the Best of 2009 quest, but getting to 500 rep 2-5 rep at a time (grinding only those matches you can win, for sure) is a pain in the rear. See also, Oracle gives cards that make no sense, market generally has nothing interesting or useful, etc.

The element of fun is gone after 2 hours, where it just becomes an endless grind-farm to get cards otherwise unobtainable, and you're stuck to play against AI until you've gathered them all. Might as well play Hearts or Solitaire.

@eyalkapi: You know what smart people do when they think something is hard? They ask for help. Yes, the game isn't exactly friendly to new players, however, at almost any given minute, there is likely somebody who can help you.

@Kolimanien - It used to be like that, but it was turned into what it is now. 200 HP OTK's and 100 HP OTK's would always EM if you slipped a Liquid Shadow in the combo, for example.

Even though it's not that important it would be nice if life steal would be counted before you finish your oponent.
For example if you defeat your opponet with a monster that has 10 attack and life drain while you have 90 hp, you should still get elemental master.

@Mad_mauler: Please, provide specific examples instead of just saying OP everywhere. Yes, gods are overpowered. They are made that way, but they are far from impossible. Ask for help if you are stuck. As is, it sounds like you are just whining about the game because you are bad at it.
