Thanks dorestes, I eventually got a bit over a 100 on Chroma Zones, mostly through luck (the game decided to graciously send me a group of 10 reds, then 10 blues, then 10 reds, or something like that). Anyway, now that I have achieved the impossible, I can finally give my ending assessment of the game. An incredibly horrifically addicting game, in the "just one more level" style. One of the trickier things to master is the blue ball in the dual ball levels: as Beerblog put in this comments section, "Red handles like a sports car. Blue handles like a truck towing a boat in reverse." ...(1/2)

whoa wtf? I had every level 3-starred and a score of 2379 and for some reason this morning all my progress is gone. I did nothing to my cookies, didn't even close out the browser window with my tabs. :-(

Oh my freaking God! I have not enjoyed a game like I have enjoyed this one! I am laughing my ass off whenever I lose! THIS is how a game should be, damn super fuun!!!

@severeflame when it starts to get dicey around 50-60, you won't be able to catch them around the edges and make it back in time. Stick close to center screen and play defensively, making slight adjustments into each chromazone. Eventually the computer will play unfair and murder you, but you should be able to get to at least 90.

Problem is that once you're good enough to 3-star every level, getting to the Dev High Score isn't so much a matter of skill, as replaying enough times that the computer doesn't throw you an impossible scenario before you hit it. Light World Jupiter is especially bad for this--it's not hard, it's just that there's always a point where the pattern murders you with no recourse.

Seriously, if anyone knows a strategy to phase into the alternate universe the dev must have been in to get a 130 on Chroma Zones, I would love to hear it. I'm like 200 points away from the impossible yet I can only get 65 on Chroma Zones at best.

Level 6 dark world, unit circle is killing me. Why can't those stupid balls hold still a bit? I'll about NEVER get 65 on it. In the meanwhile, I got 2549 pts which is still quite far off the impossible badge, but feels more possible than that level. Average 75 pts per level, some levels it's easy and some levels... ARGH.

@Imrahilion I deeply agree on level 19. But my colorblindness (strong deuterian) doesn't affect the percieved difference between red and blue, so 13 wasn't a problem for me. 19 practically screws over almost every kind of colorblindness though, I guess.

I can't get this game to load on any browser I try. Google chrome, firefox,IE,the closest is chrome but it stays stuck on "processing".

@felixr2 - Good point - I actually did think of that (and forgot to put it in my post, whoops...), but I was thinking of it more in the context of this game somehow being adapted to tablets - I completely forgot about trackpads! Whoops! I'm playing on a touchpad, so when the idea of clicking came up in my mind I forgot that trackpads are different things entirely :P

142 attempts later and with a cumulative score of almost 2400, Dark Unit Circle is the only one I can't 3-star. 65 is a ridiculously high ask for that level.

For those of you trying for the impossible badge, I have some bad news: The 120 star requirement is the easy part. I just got all 120 stars and am only at 2333 points. Good luck, you're gonna need it.

The alternating speeds of the lines is this game's major flaw. Traps you in situations where there is literally no possible solution to win and forces you to depend way too much on luck.

@Aeros2 Even if you did, the settings allow you to turn off the moving background and the flashy effect on destroying a beam. I did this to help me focus - I'm somewhat oversensitive to visual (and auditory) stimuli.
@SevereFlame The idea for a strafe mode is a neat one, but I'm glad it wasn't included. It would make it less difficult to get higher scores, resulting in higher 3-star requirements and dev scores, ultimately remaining at exactly the same difficulty - when you're playing with a mouse. Since any implementation of the strafe mode involving the mouse controls already present would be incompatible with laptop trackpads, so any gamer who doesn't have access to a mouse, like me, would be completely screwed as the game would require you to have one. This really is one of the few games with mouse controls that is touchpad friendly, and that's one of the main reasons I love it.

Some more comments, because of the character limit:
In general, one of the harder things is to handle the blue ball. Sometimes I wish there was a "strafe mode" where you could hold the mouse button and lock the angle of the blue ball - it's especially annoying to back the blue ball up as it slides out from the red ball often.
More comments later.

I'm on my way to getting the impossible so I'll give some final comments about the game after that, but I just want to point out a couple things before I forget:
For some reason it's easier to get a high score on the dark version of reflector than the light version (the dev score seemingly agrees with me on this), despite the fact that the dark version seems to be just the light version without the ability to see the blue ball.
I also I find it extremely fascinating how, for example, I'm able to absolutely destroy the dev score on Guardian, but the dev score is way above my capabilities for chroma zone. I think chroma zone was the 120th star I got as well, I don't know why I find that particular set up so difficult.

The only problem I have is that some of the stars are too high for certain levels because those levels become unfair after a certain point. Luck becomes an important factor.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Uhm, I made a typo. You'll have to increase your high score by 10 on every level, on average. Still, far from easy, and definitely going to take quite some time. The impossible badge is entirely justified in it's difficulty.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If you're at 120 stars, you're likely going to around 2.2k points. These 800 points you still need means increasing your high score on every level by 20 on average. This obviously is far from easy.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
dont see why ppl have issues with the 3k points, dont you understand how the point system works in this game? if you can get 120 stars 3k points should be rly ez
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Addicting game...finally got all stars, but only 2181 score...I see why it's an impossible badge. Good job, even if I'll never earn all the badges.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Some 3 stars scores is a bit too high, if devs get lucky with patterns and set 3 star score depends on this it doesnt mean that this is score fit to the level. Some 3 stars being hit in first-second try, others take literally hour. Also sometimes game give you patterns that you cant possibly complite and fail the level because of it. But over all good simple time killer.
