Under rating threshold (show) Tips for Dark Unit Circle: Keep your cursor close to your blue ball (follow the circular movement). Be careful about fast incoming lines slower are already on screen, usually faster will hit first. This is a level where you actually can move the red ball pretty much anywhere around it in a single frame, although jumping over blue lines is not possible. If lines are coming from opposite sides move instantly over the blue ball instead of going around it.

Under rating threshold (show) Learn to read, Imperator666. I didn't write anything about scoring over 70 on most levels. My comment referenced one particular level where I saying the high score was (and is still low) comparatively to other levels versus their star goals.

Under rating threshold (show) @Zorblak The problem you described isn't impossible in dark world mode. Since your blue ball movement eventually becomes a sine function perpendicular to every axis while the beams move with constant speed, it is never truly impossible to hit all the lines in a situation similar to the one you described. I can imagine impossible situations for dark world unit circle (which also apply to light world unit circle) but they would be even rarer than the situation you described would be in light mode. It sounds like you're just having bad luck on unit circle, and that sucks, but bad luck sucks on every level that can even get to impossible situations.

Under rating threshold (show) @Beerblog I don't know why you're taking it personally. I was actually talking about getting a score so high that the snake would be impossible to control hence the randomness taking over, which would require a score much higher than the 3 star requirement (35) or even dev score (43) or mine (64) if that matters to you. This supports my point that randomness shouldn't be a issue when trying to get the impossible badge. Your comment about controls making scores above 70 unlikely in most levels, even though plenty of people and even the devs have gone well over, is ridiculous; are you calling the devs cheaters?

Under rating threshold (show) @dorestes I'm sorry, I might have worded my comment incorrectly. Dark unit circle isn't an easy one to get three stars on - but no dark world levels are. I can understand that it takes many attempts, that's because it takes some getting used to. Once you get used to it, it's not that hard anymore. And the high requirement is what makes it hard. But you do have a point, dark worl unit circle is one of the harder ones to get three stars on (though it doesn't even compare to Dark Chromatic Scale imo, but that might partially be because I'm colorblind with almost every color (and for me, those colors sometimes get pretty close) xD #GiveChromaticScaleAColorblindMode)

Under rating threshold (show) @felixr2 - Unit Circle was my very last light world 3-star, requiring more than twice as many attempts as any other light world level. And it's looking likely to be my last dark world 3-star, as I'm now down to three remaining, and that's the one I'm still farthest on from highest score to 3-star score. Maybe there's a great strategy for when you have blue lines coming from both sides at the same distance, but short of achieving that perfect spot which will be in the microscopic gap between them (while you're moving with no control over how you move), I don't know what it is.

Under rating threshold (show) @felixr2 I have to disagree with you. I'e 3-starred most of the levels at this point, and getting to 65 in Dark Unit Circle is the hardest task of all. Literally 3/4 of the time the game murders you with no possible escape.

Under rating threshold (show) To add to my previous comment: In dark world, Icy Hot Balls and Fading Lines both have a higher 3-star score than Unit Circle. For good reason, since they're the only two dark world levels easier than dark world Unit Circle. The high 3-star score is really the only thing that makes Unit Circle seem hard. Also, I named just two examples of modes for which Unit Circle is a great strategy. Full list would be: Light World: Busta Line, Guardian, Beam Ball, (Unit Circle), Fading Lines, Stutter, Flash Attack, Chromatic Scale. (True Colors as well, although moving towards the lines to check the colors can help there as well) Dark World: Fading Lines, Flash Attack, True Colors. If you're good at Dark True Colors, you can also take take the Unit Circle approach to Wall Ball on both modes.

Under rating threshold (show) Unit Circle has a higher 3-star score because it's the EASIEST level of all. The controls are both simple and force you to use one of the best strategies for both busta line and guardian _perfectly_ (assuming light mode). You keep both balls in the middle of the screen always, making it so that you always have more than enough time to respond to each beam that appears, and the blue ball takes care of itself so you only have to decide how to move one ball. In dark world I would still argue it's easier once you get used to it.

Under rating threshold (show) This game really blew me away. Solid controls, a simple but surprisingly deep idea, great learning curve, clever and tough levels that all feel different, achievements that make you want to get better, and overall just a lot of fun. 5/5 and favorite isn't enough.

Under rating threshold (show) I don't get why Unit Circle has a higher 3-star score than any other level. It's definitely harder than things like Busta Line or Beam Ball, because you are so restricted in where you can move. Most of the other ratings seem reasonable (even as I struggle to get the last six stars), but that one just seems off to me.

Under rating threshold (show) @Beerblog: 120 stars is like the starting difficulty in this game. You should not have to worry about random patterns if all you're trying is to get 3000 points or even beating all dev scores. There are actually very few levels where you can get an impossible pattern to clear (Jupiter, Icy Hot Balls, Unit Circle -very rarely-, Dark Snake if you even manage to get to that point). The real reason some people score way higher than others (bar people getting 8k points in an hour) is simply they are more skilled/spent more time playing the game (+72h on my part -way too much-). Some situations that I would find "impossible" to clear at 3k points now feel like basic muscle memory at 5k. the kind of controls you're complaining about is actually very consistent and you should see fair improvements in all levels using it (1,5,7,8,9,14,19) as you play them more and more.

Under rating threshold (show) @Imperator666: I know how the controls work. I have 120 stars. My point is the control difference between the red side and blue side is night and day. Red handles like a sports car. Blue handles like a truck towing a boat in reverse. There are ways to make the controls equal or at least make the spawn pattern so that it's not random chance if you get an impossible blue streak or an easy red streak when the scoring starts to matter.

Under rating threshold (show) It's interesting, but very prone to random screwage. Like in Unit Circle for instance, it's very easy to get geometrically impossible salvos within the 30-40 mark.

Under rating threshold (show) Also I suggest you fix the Jupiter's generating system. I've had attempts where it made a line where red was offscreen so I couldn't clear, only to follow it by a line where red is on the other side of level, not clearable since it's blocked by the blue of a line where red was offscreen. This usually leads to instant game over as the second line blocks off the first line's red.

Under rating threshold (show) Loved this game - most impossible badges make me rage at some point but this one didn't! Those untenable situations that pop up so often in games like this are surprisingly rare here, very nicely done. TIPS: In levels where the balls are tethered, chase down red beams and let the blue ones come to you, and get in the habit of always moving the mouse in a circular motion. In Icy Hot I doubled my scores when I started saying the colours I was going for out loud. In "orbit" in dark, Think of it like chroma-zones - hit blues in top left, reds in bottom right. If the beams get close, wait in the opposite corner height-wise (so for a blue beam, wait in the bottom-left, then move to top-left). Striped and Wall Ball are all about not getting overwhelmed - chase down beams early. In Chromatic Swap dark, I scored more by only using front ball. Finally, when you get all your three stars you may be up to 900 points behind - don't worry! You'll be surprised at how quickly you rise.

Under rating threshold (show) Finally did it... I first i would never get badge after having 2168 points when finishing the 120 stars (Dark world Level 13 & 18 gave me a lot of trouble..). Overall great game without lags. Just noticed on Dark World Stutter the beam kills you even if you wait and dont touch it.. i don't know if its a bug or intented but it seemed strange to me. Hint for people who want the badge: Focus on levels where you are good at and dont invest too much time on levels that are hard for you. And please: delete all the hackers from the scoreboard & withdraw their badges (if you can). Its like a punch in the face for us people who did it the legit way...

Under rating threshold (show) @Beerblog: You absolutely can control the blue ball, it just takes practice. You can see the incoming lines for a split second when they enter the screen, remember their color. Move the red ball to clear the red lines asap then position your blue ball to clear the remaining blue lines.

Under rating threshold (show) Great game! One suggestion/request: I would really like to play a version of it where the balls are points (i.e. only the center has collision). Obviously it would make it easier, but I would really enjoy the precision of something like dark world jupiter with point collision. Also it would get rid of most of the annoying situations on reflection and snake where you run into the opposing ball (against, decreasing difficulty), I just think it would be really satisfying to play that version.

Under rating threshold (show) *notices star counter gone down* Wait what? *Checks stat page* Oh. The Dev High Score went up. And a few of the star requirements, it seems. Well, at least the stat page now marks levels you've beaten the dev score on. Even if it's a tad annoying way of marking them, might be better if the animation cycled slower. And how there isn't a 'beaten both dark and light world dev scores' marker. At least the dev scores can now beat the impossible badge :P

+ - !

Developer response from slashparty

We just fixed Wall Ball. The 3 star and dev scores were set before launch and since then there were some difficulty tweaks that made Wall Ball more playable, but they also made those old thresholds not in line with the rest of the game. Also there is a beaten both dark and light world dev scores indicator.

By the time you've 3 stared the dark world, you're good enough to go back and blow away your old light world scores. You can also now look at the new level leaderboards to see which level have high score potential.
