This is a really good game. Decent difficulty spike, many interesting and exciting takes on the same simple game, unlockable stuff, and PLENTY of levels to choose from. A really nice time killer. 5/5

Lost my progress after the update. I already got the impossible badge so its not a big deal, but anyway its kinda frustrating

High score: 4042 beams cleared: 4095 play time: 39:51 Deaths 43 (extra deaths on D6,D10,D13) 120 STARS (3000 beams time 25:45) yay :)

The Impossible badge takes some very ballsy focus to achieve, but you'll be beaming with accomplishment when it happens!

Impossible badge? More like a very tedious badge! It took me only 5 days to complete the sucker so it wasn't that impossible!
For anyone looking for a secret to achieve it too: focus first on the 120 stars, then milk as much points on the light category (like busta where I got 138, Jupiter where you can get 100+, guardian, beam balls, unit circle, icy cold, reflector which all have potential of 100+ points).
And idk if it helps too, but listening to anime openings or rock music in general can help ya focus more (or at least it worked for me, the powerful songs kinda busted my precision and relaxed me during the stressful levels).

Holy crap, it took me months, but I finally got 3000 points and earned the impossible badge! Shout out to the devs for making a fair, fun, and rage inducing game!

A little trick for Level 19 for people who have monitor with washed our colors: if it takes too long to change to red, it's blue.

Simple game, but it's also really intense and mostly fair. It puts you in the zone, or a "flow state"! Playtime for a single round is short, so you can play for 10 minutes and stop if you want. Or you can sit down for an hour and try to conquer your Beam Ball demons. It's too bad some rounds will be naturally easier due to line spawning RNG, but I'm not sure how that could get fixed. I just got 100 stars, but I'm not sure how I'll ever reach the impossible badge with 120 stars + 3,000 score. I guess I'll keep trying over the next few months!

@malkierian i accidentally read your comment as "simple yet enraging", which is also a good description of this game.

Advice from an impossible badge-getter: Keep retrying, time after time. Once in a while, you'll get the right combination of luck and beams to break 3 stars. Also, don't play when you are upset. This is a rage game if one has ever been made.

If you are going for the impossible this game goes from "fun game" to "RNG the game". Glad I have to restart the level 100 times so i dont get boxed into an impossible situation to escape :)

Great game! Well designed and very addictive - thanks very much. For the Impossible Badge, I've finally got 120 starts. But only 2295 points, so I'm 700 short. That means...I need another 15-20 points on each level?! Blimey - that does feel impossible!

This game is pure evil. Some levels might have been made while munching on a bowl of rusty nails. (this isn't criticism though, it's just the truth)

One thing for certain, although i'm sure it's mostly random, at some the lines that appear of different colors where they cross almost exactly where the balls are on levels where you can't move (Unit Circle for example). Not that i mind a certain difficulty to the game, but such situations should be worked upon so that a good run won't be lost because of bad luck (literally). Still love the concept of the game and how it shows various gameplays!

Not my type of game, and I'm kind of crappy at it (I seriously doubt I'll even get the hard badge, let alone the impossible one) but even so I enjoy it. Now that I have (finally!) unlocked the epilogue and I have seen all the content, I can say that it is very well made. 5 stars.

I found a SECRET!!! zoom out on your window to make the lines slower and the balls faster by comparison. this also works the other way: zoom in to make the lines faster and the balls slower.
It works (probably) because the game calculates the ball's max speed by screen pixels, and the line's speed by a set time to cross the game window.

Tips for the impossible: if you sum up the dev's score for all the levels, it totals to 3013. Use this to gauge how much you should get on each level (exception being Chroma Zones light version, I have no idea how the dev managed that). You don't necessarily need to match the score, only come close to it (good estimate: < 10 points). Pick levels that you're good at to get that extra umph, for example I focused on Guardian, Jupiter and Unit Circle light versions to make up for levels in which I couldn't match the dev's score. And a final tip: always keep moving. Most of the struggle comes in for a fight for space, so if you're standing still (say, for a blue laser beam) it will more than likely lead to a worse situation had you been aggressive. Good luck!

@woljtek3000 it's actually proZD, he has a very successful youtube channel if you look him up. I'm sort of amazed to find him on such a tiny flash game like this.
On a side note, working to get 120 stars and (so far) 2839 points on this game has made me realize, 60 points for an impossible badge is NOT enough

Hi! I'm an old lady and I just earned the badge. It's less skill and more persistance and practice that got me it and I'd like to share some general tips: You don't have to beat the dev score on every level. More than a thousand people got the badge but less than fifty ever beat the dev score on L4 for example. Don't beat the dev score, beat your own highscore. In the levels with the standard beamball rules (like fading lines, chromatic swap etc.) your orientation is way more important than your location. The only levels with standard rules in which you have to move around a lot are D3 and D14.
