yo... this game could be amazing... if you had WAAAAAAAAY better dragon flight controls (make the dragon fairly responsive), and let me find a way to heal up my dragon... though the controls is the big issue

Yeah, sorry, controls are the main problem with it. But hey, for 48 it's not that bad :). I'll release a post competition version later... maybe.

Other than the struggle of flight controls, I would like an indication of whether or not the villages fear me more then a full red bar as the given sign. Otherwise, this game does have potential.

Yeah, controls are terrible. I assume you are using rigidbody? If not, better add some non-rotatable one and add constant force while flapping wings. Make dragon heavier.
Make Lava glowing ( add a spotlight deep underneath).
Make some GPS navigation to locate villages easily.
Well, this game is too difficult now. Do the archers have possibility to miss?
