William and Sly, and William and Sly 2 are seriously the best games on this site. The artwork alone is worth playing! We've been waiting for years, hoping there would be a William and Sly 3, but alas, it never happened.

Another gem I never played until recently:
World's End
https://www.kongregate.com/games/MezzanineStairs/worlds-end-chapter-1#game
A pretty excellent tactical RPG with an especially well constructed save system, and amusing story.
Which reminds me of this truly great tactical RPG

Highly reccomended.

How could I forget Stop The Darkness!
https://www.kongregate.com/games/flori9/stop-the-darkness
One of the better and more recent (relatively) good games on the site. A mix of city building, discovery, uniqueness, simplicity, and danger.

Salute to flash games.
*salute*
To a time when every game didn't need to have micro transactions or annoying video ads everywhere. I understand why they exist. Just wish they didn't.
And if anyone needs some help getting the above games to work, here is something that might help:

> [Usermade] Solution to the Flash games situation
>
> After they more or less broke every Flash games, and after I realized they would not fix anything, I decided to try to do it myself. I struggled with different tools for ... something like eight months, with many of giving ups (give ups?) until last week when I noticed something obvious, yet life- changing. It did... not help me getting the API to work, but it at least allowed me to complete my secondary objective: creating an option to chose between Flash and SuperNova (**SuperNova, yes, but, correctly implemented, without loading the bad files half of the time like Kongregate did**) when playing Flash games on Kongregate. Thus, let me introduce you to my user script, the [Kongregate Flash games fixer](https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/438325-kongregate-flash-games-fixer).
> ___
> **What does it do?** Well, it adds two buttons right above the Flash games.
> The "Flash" button will load the game through... Flash (provided you got a working version of it and browser that supports it, I know, this is the main drawback), and the "SuperNova" button will both loads (PROPERLY; in other words, without the "Gameshell" and "sitelocks" issues) the SuperNova interface and the game (so no need to click the "play" button")..
> On top of that, when a Flash game page loads, one of the button will automatically be triggered based on your OS and browser (basically, Windows users that use a browser on which Flash is not installed will get SuperNova, the others will get Flash), though if you do not like the choice... Well, the buttons are there for a reason (though, sadly, Flash is not supported by all browsers, and SuperNova is not compatible with all of them either.
>
> "What about Ruffle?", you may ask. Unfortunately, it seems we would need Ruffle somewhere on the Kongregate servers to make my user script use it. Another possibility would be using the Ruffle extension combined with my "Flash" button, but currently it is unusable on Kongregate, so let's forget it for now...
> ___
> **How to install it?**
>
> First, you need a browser extension that manages user scripts:
> * For Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge, Basilisk, ...): Tampermonkey
> * For Firefox: Tampermonkey or Greasemonkey
> * For Firefox derivated browsers (Pale Moon, Waterfox, ...): Greasemonkey
> * For other browsers: other monkeys...
>
> Then, go to [this page](https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/438325-kongregate-flash-games-fixer) and click on "install".
> ___
> I tested this on Firefox, Pale Moon, Edge and Chrome and everything that was supposed to work, worked. There are things I have sadly no control over (like SuperNova only working on Windows, but not working on browsers like Pale Moon). However, I am still hoping to fix the API one day, even though, honestly, I have no idea how to do it. I even have the feeling that everything that is needed is there but I am missing the obvious.
>
> Sorry for sharing something incomplete, but since the remaining forums are closing down in three days... Oh well, and it should make things a bit easier for the few people who used to bother getting the links for the gameshell games.

Good work.
And here was my tiny attempt to help get flash working in browser for those who wanted that:
https://www.kongregate.com/forums/1-kongregate/topics/1932807-here-are-ways-to-continue-playing-flash-games-in-2021?page=1
Probably not useful so much anymore, but maybe interesting in some way.

Replying, so more people who occasionally stunt on these forums will see those, and maybe even remember some great ones. Sadly how Kong just self-decimated to not even ashes, but atoms.
