Fairwell internet strangers, I wish you all the best in life. Kongregate has provided hours of entertainment free for 12 years, it's been great, Liam, Mr Bearhead.

Yeah this feels a bit Overlord. I'm just gonna be sitting here waiting.
This site has definitely contributed a ton to who I am today. 12 years. I started when I was 14 and now I'm 26. I think we still need sites like this to help cultivate new creators and provide that first stepping stone.
Just watching the library of games on kongregate evolve over the years has been a joy. Except the advent of incremental/idle games and like social online games. Those games are fine and I do appreciate them but the sheer domination of them was a bit much. I love you all! Thanks for everything!

Sad. No matter what happens, doesn't seem like it'll be the same. Ten years is a good run though.

> That's not the full issue either though. The fact is that many people are moving to using their cell phones as game tablets or whatever they're called. And so even though not everyone is moving in that direction, apparently enough are that many companies are ceasing to create games which can be played on a PC and are only playable now on a mobile device which sucks for those of us who don't have/want one. I play on my PC/laptop. I will NEVER play on a phone or whatever. So I'll have to just be happy soon with whatever games I can find that are made in that WebGL format, or old Flash and Java games that are still available to play and just use a browser like Pale Moon to access them, and then use the hard copy games I have on my PC. Hopefully one day people will see that playing games on their phones aren't all it's currently cracked up to be, and PCs will make a comeback and developers will start making good games again and not idle game crap. That's my hope, anyway. No matter how many years it takes.
That seems very idealistic but i hope you are right for our sake,I never understood the fascination with mobile games or Mac-s for me flash games are better even if we are talking about silly games that we played when we were bored or just at school....good days. The teacher took us to the computer room and had us work on PowerPoint and such but most of us were playing online games like head ball, etc and I loved them and playing with friends at school and at home.
Maybe its all nostalgia?I wonder how zoomers view those "old" flash games.

It was a good run indeed but i believe if it weren't for the id#ots that purposely sabotage flash and such sites that it would have lasted longer.

Has Kong just not announced they're shutting down in 3 weeks because no employees are actually left to make the announcement?
It's almost my 12 year Kong anniversary (Member Since Dec. 14, 2008). I'll be sad to see it go. I still think Kong could have been successful if they figured out how to make the Kong concept work on mobile. By the time they started looking at mobile it was too little too late.

Rumor? Or has this been posted somewhere?

@Incarnadin
Is it really that hard to NOT jump to conclusions?
Is it really that hard to NOT take Internet statements that seriously? (At the least, from any unverified and unreliable source)
Is it really that hard to THINK for yourself and realize that Adobe dropping support has no direct relationship to Kongregate/MTG decisions? (indirect, sure, but that's not the point here)
But sure, there's a Walmart in Alaska too that carries a few PS5's. Go, lemmings, go line up and see if they'll sell you the last available ones.
To the doomsayers: yes, if you keep on saying something's going to die, SOMETHING is going to die eventually, be it 1 year from now or 50 years from now.
Congratulations, you're at the same level as the Kool-Aid drinkers.

Hence why I asked for proof, not just someone claiming the site is supposedly closing in three weeks.

Flashplayer died and it took many websites with him.

Flashplayer didn't die, it's just that Firefox, Chrome, and some other browsers have fully blocked them. Flash still works in Pale Moon, so I've switched to that browser, and I'm able to play all the old games I played before.

Sure, if you use discord. Not everyone does. I tried it because some of the MP games I played for a bit used it, but I found I really didn't like it.
