At the moment I know Ruffle is still very much not up to par, but in case it proves itself stable enough, are there plans to use it?

Never heard of it. What is it?

It's basically a Flash emulator, which builds both to native applications as well as WebAssembly. It's not working with AS3 yet, but it has the advantage of running on in-browser rather than needing to be a third party application.

AS3? What's that? Is this stuff compatible with a PC?

Ruffle can play pretty nicely local .swf files, looks promising :)
AS sounds like action script, something to do with flash.

> AVM 1 is ActionScript 1 and ActionScript 2. All movies made before Flash Player 9 (June 2006) will be made with AVM 1, and it remained supported & available to authors until the release of Flash Professional CC (2013).
>AVM2 is ActionScript 3, which was introduced with Flash Player 9 (June 2006). After the release of Flash Professional CC (2013), authors are required to use ActionScript 3 - making any movie made after that date very likely to fall under this category.
>Ruffle is still working on the foundational support for AVM 2, and does not yet support any content that requires it. A warning will be placed in the log when you attempt to play AVM 2 content, for this reason. We do plan on supporting this soon!
Ruffle basically plays older Flash games made before 2006. Though some 2006-2013 games might still use older code. It's a long way from being a good replacement for Adobe's Flash plugin.
Seriously they should have started this 10 years earlier....
