Allow users to choose Flash or Supernova. I just refreshed my page and noticed no games work now after using flash normally for the last couple days.
I switched to Chrome after seeing the update 12 hours ago about Supernova and all I see is a white, black, or grey frame over games @###gameiframe.
Having a toggle would be great as I have zero issues running flash natively on Firefox.
Thanks for reading this, and I hope you consider it.

Flash is dead, so you can't switch back. Once Kong can successfully get Supernova working (without popping it out into a new window) then that's going to be the only option. Meaning, play or don't play because Flash no longer exists as of yesterday.

I support the option of a toggle.
I can play all games on Firefox+Native flash, I can't play on Firefox+Supernova, that requires me to use Google Chrome. It works with Chrome+Supernova but why force Firefox users to use Supernova when it is known that it doesn't work? After all you're already detecting whether Chrome is being used with the warning banner.

Well, that's great that you're able to play, but the majority of us cannot. I'm trying to use a browser compatible with Supernova, and it's still not letting me play any Kong games. The Supernova thing comes up in the game window, but when I go to click on "play," I get a pop up that says that the Supernova thing has stopped working, and do I want to close the program or try to find a solution online (which of course never happens). I know Supernova works because I can play the demo game at Supernova. It just won't work here. And it's really crappy that Kong has had TWO YEARS to make their site compatible with Supernova and that they have apparently waited until the last possible minute, thereby screwing over the majority of their players is just unacceptable. This is no different than when they did the rollout for the blocks. Chaos reigns supreme at Kong again.

what? for any browser you just install V30 of flash to the directory and it works as normal again. The killswitch was preprogrammed into V32. Though, yes they could have waited until Supernova was confirmed working before putting it into production.
That said. even if confirmed working, it would only work with certain browsers, OS, and games. It would be very restricted, having a toggle would remove this restriction.

And just where am I supposed to get that? I have an earlier version of Flash installed on my computer, and it still won't work. So great that it works for you, but again, it is NOT working for most of us.

The internet? Googling it? People have posted how to do it for Firefox and IE on here already (reverting the install directory with an older library file either .so or .dll). As for installing on the PC directly there are different versions of the flash installer for that so the browser can pickup the file, if you wish to go that route, it is easier for most people. Just uninstall whatever packages you have now, clean the reg, restart, and grab a V30 online. Download a portable version of Firefox, or how ever you want to do it. Install it, then flash, then run it. Which won't work now because of this Supernova update. So it's pointless information, unless again some sort of toggle is implemented.
If you need more information you can message me directly, but unless something changes it won't do you any good at this point, hence why I made this thread.

Yeah, great. I've looked. No place is allowing Flash downloads. I even tried the wayback machine. I managed to find an old version with the old Download page, but the download now is greyed out and won't let me click it.
So until Kong gets Supernova working properly, I'm screwed. And I know that Supernova works, because as I've repeatedly said, I can play the Supernova Demo perfectly fine. It's here that I can't play any games using it with Iron. But it DOES work with Iron. Again, just not HERE.

Yeah, and if you hadn't noticed from my previous posts, I can't get those add on files to work.
Look, I'm not a techie, and I'm not a coder. Great for those of you who are. But it's really irritating and frustrating when you all sit there and say, "Oh, but it's so easy. Just do "x" "y" "z" and it will load just fine. NO IT DOESN'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't worry about that, I think everyone on this site already ignores Satai.
Anyway, I think it's a good idea to not losing even more players and put the flash option alongside the newer thing, especially if some of the Kreds earnings still come from (former) flash games.

I would also appreciate the option. I have a dedicated Chrome Portable setup for Kongregate that has my savegames in its data profile. I'm not sure how I can tell SuperNova to access those savegames.
As for getting at the old version of Flash... there's no official way... but I found one here:
https://archive.org/download/flashplayerarchive/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/
But, as it's not the official site, please do due diligence and verify the installed DLLs. (I'm sure some of us who are technical and persistent enough to go that route would searching for it if they don't know how already.)
I am OK with the Portable setup... just as long as Kongregate doesn't serve up ads with malware. For those interested:
https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/google_chrome_portable
You will need to find an old version of the Chrome installer and place it in the same directory, and do some mucking around to tell the Portable installer to use the local copy... this may help:
https://portableapps.com/node/30266
Not sure if anyone would be interested... just that I was since I have an archive of savegames that I have in the data profile.
EDIT: Chrome Portable mentioned here: https://www.kongregate.com/forums/1-kongregate/topics/1932807-here-are-ways-to-continue-playing-flash-games-in-2021?page=1#posts-13558971
EDIT: I also have a Firefox Portable setup to run a Flash game... that setup is better as I can tell Firefox to look at a specific directory for Flash, via the MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH environment variable, so I can install Flash, copy it out, and uninstall it. It is also easier to install as the Portable installer has the browser bundled in it so no manual downloading.
https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable
Can look at the "Legacy versions" link if you need an older version.
Not tested on Kongregate, but I would think this is easier.

I was surprised too when the game stayed black and didn't load on chrome, had to go on firefox to understand why.
A lot of people still use flash, a toggle is a really good idea.

Many people still keep their Flash player working.
Some (like me) can't even install that Supernova thingy, or the browser versions it requires.
It also doesn't help it when the game loader script includes something like this:
> "swfurl":"https:https://chat.kongregate.com/flash/GameShell_4ef1c0e3573afbd9c353a919a01b4fe6.swf"
How is ^ this ^ valid?!
Why does Kong team prefer to first totally break things, and then (try to) fix them? Same happened with the blocks...
I'd suggest to check for a working Flash plugin first and use it, then if Flash not available, fallback to Supernova, and finally if it's missing too, show a proper error message.
Additionally, some time ago i suggested the addition of a tag / icon for the used tech (Flash, Unity3D, HTML5, etc.) next to the name of each game. Seems that nobody cared back then... How about it now?

Actually, if you look under "filters," I think there is a tag for Unity, Html, and others. The only one I didn't see a tag for was for Flash. Now, those filters aren't foolproof, but it mostly works. I remember looking for specific types of games once and used one of the filters, and got games that shouldn't have been there, but the majority were correct.
|

^sigh^
That's what I get for clicking on "quote." Anyway, as I was trying to say, I think if you go under the filters tab under "Games," there are tags for Unity, Html, etc. The only one I didn't see a tag for was for Flash. But if you click on Unity, it should bring up those games. It's not foolproof, and you might get a few non-Unity games, but it's better than doing the hunt and peck method.

I'm not making anything up. I'm glad YOU were able to make Flash work. NOTHING I try makes it work. AGAIN, I am NOT a coder/tech person. I am older, I was NOT born with a fricking computer in my hands. Talking tech at me makes no sense to me. So stop attacking me just because YOU are good with computers. Not everyone is!

I have the same problem. All of the flash games on Kongregate have stopped working for me today because Kongregate now enforces use of the SuperNova player. My Flash player still works but I cannot use the SuperNova player because I am using Linux. :-(
I can start the games manually by loading the SWF files but then I have no access to the save files.
So please do not block Adobe Flash player just because its discontinued since for many people it is the only way to play flash games.

It's very poor coding on Kong's part making it require Supernova on all browsers, there should be someway to setup the user agent to identify the browser one is connecting with and if its firefox allow flash. A quick Google shows me [this](http://www.javascripter.net/faq/browsern.htm) that kong could use to identify firefox users. Who they should disable supernova for and let flash run.
