I'll ask it again; where did they say they were not going to allow manual validation of Flash badges earned in SuperNova? The post from TrickyRodent is saying that they can't change the automatic process, not that they won't continue to handle screenshot submissions...

Meanwhile Newgrounds chievos continue to work just fine, in Flash, without downloading anything... or having Flash installed. (They made a program called Ruffle for this. It's free, it's open source, and there's nothing stopping Kong from using it.)

I agree. Getting more people to use it will also help the development of Ruffle. Afaik it's still far from perfect and needs alot of testing.

I'm not sure anyone did say that.
They are still manually awarding badges. But it's taking a LONG time to do so.

From what I can tell, they're about a week behind on these. If that happens this week, several of us will miss the shiny kongpanion. I was not awarded Tuesday's badge or today's, but I have three others (I think). I'll need for them to catch up enough in the next three days to grant those badges or I'm toast.

I haven't seen any announcement about ending manual validation, although plenty of players are complaining ABOUT it.
But if it's already delayed/backed up, it's only a matter of time before it gets full up and people'll lose out on badges/kongpanions.

I can verify theyre manually awarding badges. I needed the feed the king one last week. Submitted a screenshot. It was about a week until they awarded it though.

I waited for two weeks for a BOTD I needed for the Shiny Kongpanion. I'm now waiting for Monday's BOTD. I no longer care about the Shiny. I just want to get this week's Kongpanion. Out of all 7 badges this week, I had NONE of them. Thanks to them switching out the easy badges for medium ones, nine times out of ten now, I don't have enough badges, and have to work hard to get even one. So to have them be so far behind because everyone needs them validated, well, you're right, it's getting unlikely that we'll see anymore shinies. So for now, I'll just be happy at even getting the Kongpanions I'm missing. Screw the Shiny. It's getting to be too much WORK. These aren't supposed to be work, they're supposed to be fun. They haven't been fun in quite a while now.

Good riddance. Been here since 2012 so that makes it 11 years? Wow. Maybe even 12 since I have been here quite long enough with out an account. It was a great time being here. Learned so much about games and game design. So much nostalgia whenever I have a bad day at work or something and need to vent some stress. I may be sucessful in life, but I will never forget my roots here. I grew up here. I learned to become a pro gamer here. But all good things must come to an end. **Don't be sorry it ended, be happy it happened.**

I wonder why Kong doesn't just manually change the BOTD to html5 games. (they've manually changed botds before)
People would be happier and they'd have less work to do.
I bet whoever has to handle the screenshot email would gladly do that themselves.

I needed three badges this week. I got all three of them, but of course none registered. The chances that I would be able to get Kong support to fix one in time for the shiny was pretty low.
And yet, they came through. They fixed exactly one badge award for me in time to have it register on my account. Today I lucked out and the badge I needed was the one I already had. I have a shiny Kongpanion again, and the streak is alive. Thank you to those that got it done in time.
That was pretty close. I know not everyone made it. Who did we lose?

You're lucky. I just wanted ONE badge so I could even just get this past week's Kongpanion. I reported it on Monday after completing the game. It's Sunday and I STILL haven't gotten the badge awarded, so I guess no Kongpanion at all. This is getting really aggravating.

I gave up all the way back in November. I used to be here almost daily, just to check out new games and shoot the breeze now and then. I'm sad to see it go. This is the site I grew up on. Almost 21 years old now, it's a hit in the chest seeing the saved progress on old games get wiped out, just to be met with the SuperNova stuff now. I don't know how I expected this to last forever, but it was certainly wishful thinking all through a summer's vacation off from school back then. I'll always check back on the site to see if it still runs or not. Not even to play the games, but just to see if the oldest part of the internet I used to know still exists.

It's just frustrating when I see people posting that they sent in badge reports after me, but are getting their badges before me, and when I try and follow up on the missing badges, I'm told to be patient. OK, I can be patient, but the situation of others reporting after me but getting their badges before me makes me feel as if I were to go into a store and I'm waiting and waiting and waiting for help, and someone walks in after me, and the clerk goes and helps them and continues to leave me standing and waiting.

Yes, I do. I was trying to make the Kongbot Shiny, so to not have been awarded the badge on time really sucked. And last week's I didn't have at all, and now probably still won't. Unlike many here, I don't have all the Kongpanions.
