Guess what's back from the dead?
I apologize for the ridiculous delay on this--which is entirely my fault--but those of you who participated will be happy to know that I will be announcing the winners of the contest later this week. Please let me know if you would personally like feedback on any of your suggestions. I'd be glad to explain what went into the judging.

Daily reminder that Precarious is an awesome person.
Well... it's not daily... and not really a reminder... but I hope you still get the idea.
Keep on rockin' Prec! :)

We need some of these badges to be added. I was playing Mr Bree and the suggestions are the kind of badges we've been missing :D

It's time! Although there will be only two winners in each category, feel free to comment on what suggestions you found to be particularly cool or interesting. I'll be providing feedback this week any participants who are interested. The winners will be receiving their prizes during this coming week, and I'll also be providing detailed thoughts and feedback on all entries to interested participants.
And without further ado...

QUALIFIED BADGE SUGGESTIONS
*1st Place*: **BrainpanSonata**, for [Pestilence Z](http://www.kongregate.com/games/bpointstudios/pestilence-z).
World Warrior Z Badge (Medium ~ 15 points)
Show your combat prowess by killing 200 zombies.
[ ] 200 zombies killed - any type of zombie counts for this badge (best so far: )
I was really surprised that the winner for the Qualified Badges ended up being a single badge game, but Brainpan's suggestion here does a lot of things that might not be immediately evident. First, the game itself was a fairly clever suggestion--it dates to 2011, and has a rating over 3.75 (and in the popular zombie pseudo-genre), yet I had never played it before. It's an interesting game, combining tactical/grid-based exploration and movement with turn-based RPG combat. The badge name itself also reflects creativity and careful consideration. World War Z, as many of you may know, is a popular zombie-themed novel and movie, and thus ties in well as a reference here (the expansion of war to warrior reflecting the badge criteria, specifically killing zombies). It's the badge criterion, though, that really helped sew this entry together. It's fairly rare that "enemies killed" is ever used for more than an easy badge, because kills in any game tend to rack up fairly quickly and easily, and don't necessarily indicate meaningful progress. Here, however, an individual fight takes some time and effort, and zombies killed (in the hundreds) actually reflects significant progress into the game. Overall, I felt this was an interesting and well-crafted suggestion. :)

*2nd Place*: **pokerpo**, for [Dibbles 4: A Christmas Crisis](http://www.kongregate.com/games/thepodge/dibbles-4-a-christmas-crisis).
How the Dibbles stole Christmas Badge (easy ~ 5 points)
Beat the first 7 levels
[ ] Level 7 Completed
Claus-trophobic Badge (hard ~ 30 points)
Guide the Santa Dibble through all 33 levels
[ ] Game Completed
Many of you may be familiar with the Dibbles series, a Lemmings-esque puzzle game where Dibbles are tasked with sacrificing themselves to create a navigable path for their leader. While all the other installations were badged, I would guess that a measure of fatigue had set in by Dibbles 4, and so it slipped under the radar. Pokerpo revisits this game, and the mechanics are as balanced as ever: the levels gradually scale in difficulty, the end result being quite long and challenging. The Easy-Hard scheme is definitely appropriate here: the easy badge does well to introduce the players to the basics of the game without overloading them with difficulty or grind, while full completion takes considerable effort: the puzzles can be quite hard, and there are 33 levels to be traversed. I also appreciated pokerpo's obvious effort into naming the badges, particularly the clever "Claus-trophobic" name for the hard badge. In a Christmas themed game where the premise is protecting the Santa Dibble, the "Claus" part obviously fits well, but the idea of claustrophobia is also apropos, given the way the Dibbles are often forced to contort themselves, caving away the landscape to create a useable path.

DREAM BADGE SUGGESTIONS
*1st Place*: **TurkeyPie**, for [House of Dead Ninjas](http://www.kongregate.com/games/AdultSwimGames/house-of-dead-ninjas).
Nimble Ninja Neutralizing Badge (easy ~ 5 points)
If they've seen ya, you ain't a ninja. Show them who's boss by defeating 100 enemies across all games.
[ ] 100 kills (best so far:)
Fighting Knives With Knives Badge (medium ~ 15 points)
Fight fire with fire, by slaying Knives, the evil dragon dude. Dragons will start appearing around floor 120.
[ ] Kill one Dragon (best so far:)
Skyscraper of Dead Ninjas Badge (hard ~ 30 points) (alternatively: Can He? Shuriken! Badge)
Madness? This is Ninja! Leave 300 floors of ninja-no-mores above you.
[ ] Descend 300 floors (best so far:)
This was probably my favorite entry of the entire event, given TurkeyPie's attention to detail throughout the whole process. The game itself (House of Dead Ninjas) is a good choice. Those of you who have participated in forums tournaments in the past have likely played this challenging game, which is difficult, addictive, and well-designed. In it, you control a ninja moving ever downward through increasingly difficult obstacles and enemies (as well as a timer), relying on platforming and weapons. Unfortunately, HoDN lacks API, and thus ends up as a dream suggestion. Beyond a strong game choice, however, TurkeyPie did well in every element. The badges themselves are very well balanced: the difficulty, replayability, and overall amount of content easily justify three badges, and the criteria fit E-M-H well. As enemies kill rapidly accumulate across multiple games, it represents immersion into HoDN without requiring a high degree of skill. The medium is clever as it requires both reaching a certain floor (or more), finding a certain enemy (one that's not too difficult to find, though), and defeating it. The hard badge forces you to reach floor 300, which is a considerable challenge, but not an impossible one. I also appreciated the clever badge names (I especially like the alliteration in the easy badge), and I enjoyed the extra effort put into describing the badge criteria.

*2nd Place*: **jh05013**, for [Chromatic](http://www.kongregate.com/games/Arkeus/chromatic).
Money Primary Badge (easy ~ 5 points)
Collect 50 coins
[ ] 50 coins collected
Spinning the Color Wheel Badge (hard ~ 30 points)
Get 30 trophies
[ ] 30 trophies (at least bronze) collected
Double Rainbow Badge (impossible ~ 60 points)
Get all 50 gold trophies
[ ] 50 gold trophies collected
Another strong entry can be seen with jh05013's suggestions for Chromatic. From popular dev Arkeus, Chromatic is a lesser known title combining platforming with color change elements. In each level, there are coins of different colors that can only be collected when you shift to that color; there are also items and obstacles attuned to each color. While the controls feel a little bit awkward at times, the level design is excellent, and difficulty scales well. Easy at first, Chromatic's later levels can be brutal. So much so, in fact, that jh's inclusion of an impossible badge seems well warranted. I particularly enjoyed that: while impossibles should not be suggested casually, where a game's content merits that designation in the course of reasonable gameplay, it can be fun to see the extra challenge. Overall, jh's suggestions felt well-reasoned and balanced, and I thought he did a nice job naming the badges as well.

That's great! I'm glad my entry was appreciated. Too bad they're dream badges, HoDN is a really cool game.
Thanks for hosting, Prec. :)

Welp, looks like Heather's Halloween Christmas will never have the chance to earn badges if it didn't even win this :'c
Congratz on the winners though!

Kongrats to all the winners!
Also a huge thank you to everyone who participated. Making badges is not easy and a lot of work on top of that. So I'm really proud to see how many people still rolled up their sleeves and made cool entries.
And finally thank you Prec for pulling this off! Really amazing what you made out of nothing but a simple idea.

I was just thinking while sending the prizes out that it would have made more sense for the points to be 30 and 60 like the badge values. This also would have made the Kreds a nice even 25 and 75. I think Precarious might have mixed up a couple numbers in his note to me, but I've taken care of it now. Sorry about that!

Why bring it up, points are of greater value than Kreds.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this event, and extra-thanks to Precarious for organizing it!
I mentioned to Precarious awhile ago that I would be happy to turn the winning badge suggestions into real badges if it were technically feasible to do so, and it looks like it actually is for the two qualified winners.
Beyond that, apparently today is opposite day, because usually when people suggest unusual badge tasks, I end up saying, "there's no stat for that," but Pestilence Z actually has more stats submitting to us than what shows up in the high scores. There are actually stats for beating the game on easy mode, beating the game on normal mode, beating the game on hard mode, beating the game on impossible mode, finding the flamethrower, finding a golden-quality melee weapon, and finding a golden-quality ranged weapon.
I have not played the game a whole lot yet, but I wanted to mention that in addition to making the badge suggested by BrainpanSonata for zombie kills(asterisk), we can also make badges for beating the game and finding specific weapons (assuming the API stats work, which I admittedly have not tested yet).
If anyone has any opinions about badges in Pestilence Z that make use of these stats, feel free to weigh in, and I might use them! I might also give a bit more weight to our contest winner BrainpanSonata here if he has any ideas. But otherwise my plan is to move forward with badging Pestilence Z, using BrainpanSonata's winning suggestion, and seeing if there's anything else that might also make sense with the other stats.
I like the Dibbles 4 setup as well -- I might add those closer to Christmas. I don't think I'd change anything, either -- I like the names!
Thanks again to everyone who participated!
(asterisk) I miiiiight reduce the threshold a bit and make this an easy badge if there are other badges also going to be added, but I'll still use the name and task type! And I'll link to this thread in the badge description as well.

I heartily approve of badging Pestilence Z, but have no further ideas to contribute. Looking forward to seeing the suggestions of Greg and others.
