For practically every level until the fourth mission, unless it was a boss battle (in which case I only used magic units with the highest possible damage/range, or just Totems as their self-healing allowed me not to care about them and concentrate on getting close enough to spam my special attacks without dying), I simply spammed away with the Elf Rangers (the one ranged unit you get on the beginning) and Puppy Dragons (they are good against the little units that your archers can’t hit) and later Totems.
The rest depends on the hero and your equipment; personally I tried getting the whole set of Staffs of Holy Empire (because the mana bonus allows for a faster start, and the attack bonus, while not the greatest, is still acceptable, especially with the added health bonus) and started getting Zeus Staffs as soon as I could do it, because the difference in attack bonus is enough to justify the loss of mana bonus). As for hero, I just used the Viegraff I started with, and I found that he’s performing decently against most things (due to the healing effect allowing you to shield your units if need arises, and with Swords of Judgement being kind of overpowered).
Generally speaking, for as long as you have longer range than your opponent and enough attack to turn him into paste before he comes into range to start hitting you, any defence other than a small health bonus against the occasional resistant unit is irrelevant. Thus, the whole table for missions (I am aware that the last mission requires slightly more finesse, since you need to protect your ranged units on the beginning) will look like this:
[1:1] Elf Rangers with attack boost
[1:2] Elf Rangers with attack boost
[1:3] Elf Rangers with attack boost
[1:4] Elf Rangers and Puppy Dragons with attack boost
[1:5] Elf Rangers and Puppy Dragons with attack boost
[1:Final] Totems with attack boost
[2:1] Elf Rangers and Puppy Dragons with attack boost
[2:2] Elf Rangers and Puppy Dragons with attack boost
[2:3] Elf Rangers and Puppy Dragons with attack boost
[2:4] Elf Rangers and Totems with attack boost
[2:5] Elf Rangers and Totems with attack boost
[2:Final] Totems with attack boost
[3:1] Elf Rangers and Totems with attack boost
[3:2] Elf Rangers and Totems with attack boost
[3:3] Elf Rangers and Totems with attack boost
[3:4] Elf Rangers and Totems with attack boost
[3:5] Elf Rangers and Totems with attack boost
[3:Final] Totems with attack boost
[4:1] Elf Rangers and Totems with attack boost
[4:2] Elf Rangers and Totems with attack boost
[4:3] Elf Rangers and Totems with attack boost
[4:4] Elf Rangers and Totems with attack boost
[4:5] Elf Rangers and Totems with attack boost
[4:Final] Totems and Witches with attack boost
PS. As of now, for me, every one of these other than the 3rd and 4th boss has an alternative “Swords of Judgement-spam it to death” method, with a few hits being sufficient to fell everyone. And it’s actually a pretty quick way to increase mission mastery, with earlier levels taking 10 seconds per try or so.

Level by level? I can’t remember.
Units to go for:
1: Puppy Dragons.
2: Shark Men.
3: Totems.
4: Warg Riders/Valkyries.
5: Succubi.
5: White Tiger.
The sooner you get White Tiger, the better.
Items to go for:
Six Excalibournes or Staves of Holy Empire. Mana is more important.
Hero: Viegraff early on, move to Popo when you get Valkyries or Warg Riders.
Stats:
At least 2 Attack per level.
At least 1 Energy per level.
Early on, get 5 Action. This will let you get the 3x matches in Arena, a neat alternative to messing around in missions.
You can safely ignore HP and Defence.
Master Missions religiously. Mastering missions will give you a lot of Exp, gold from achievements, and set you up for future missions (ideally you want every mission to be a cakewalk).
For easy money, fight the Oni the Brute quests with Valkyries. With Rage and enough +Mana, you should win in about 30 seconds a run.

Itens:
4 (S) units of any “mana” swords, like excalibourne or holy empire.
2 “true dragon king swords”, or better swords (like ragnarok, if you have)
Units:
White Tiger
Hero:
Popo or Oni (any hero with “Raging” special).
Strategy:
Spam a White Tiger as soon is possible (use some Hero special level 2 or 3 to increase the mana units faster).
When the Tigers reach the middle of the map, use “Raging”.
The end.
:D

lol, none of these are really walkthroughs. a walkthrough should literally walk us through each step. like saying what level you should be and what units you should have.

the easiest way i found to beat all 24 missions is to use what you start with for the first 3 missions, and spend your money getting the water temple to level 3 to get valkyries… after you get valkyries, use those as your main unit, as they are fast and strong… now spend all your money to get the wind temple to level 4 and get warg riders and use those, but keep the valkyries too in case you need to fight oni again… now that you have warg riders, you should easily be able to get to chapter 3, final mission, but maybe not get a victory, so use the money youve built up to get 6 Holy Sword Excalibournes in the level 2 blacksmith, each sword costs 6000 (300 per silver sword in the level 1 market, need 10 swords, then another 3000 to craft the excal), now that you should have 6 excalibournes equipped, warg riders, and valkyries, use popo as your hero if you havent been doing so, then as soon as you click the start button to start the mission, press the hotkey to summon wargs (valks if youre fighting oni), press the 3 key to rage them, and be prepared to summon them again… this tactic should work until chapter 4 final mission, where you should be getting the white tigers from wind temple level 5, and getting the fire dragon from monster lab level 5… to beat chapter 4 final mission, the easiest way is to get the fire dragons from the lab, and as soon as the battle starts, press 3, wait a few seconds, and summon a fire dragon and immediately press 3 again to rage it, now simply summon a fire dragon and press 3 to rage it as fast as the game will let you… you should win by the 5th or 6th dragon if youre at a low level… speaking of levels, spend 5 points on action to start, then spend the rest on energy or attack however you wish, but note that you will not need more than 150 energy, enough to do the final mission 3 times before needing a refill…
