**Welcome to Idle Skilling**
-------------------------
**FAQ**
**Q. What am I... uh... doing exactly?**
A. Well, this game has three different sections. Training, Fighting, and crafting. For training, you level up combat stats to fight monsters. The better you are at fighting, the tougher the monsters you can kill, and the more gold you get to spend upgrading your Training. Also, you'll see later on that you can Mine Ores and Catch Fish. These are resources used to craft items. You can craft a bunch of items, which all give fighting bonuses. Each item can be crafted as many times as you are able to.
**Q. My benching guy isn't giving me any strength exp! **
A. Strength exp (the orange fist), as well as every other skill exp (like Attack, endurance, mining, etc), only has a chance to be given every cycle. This chance is ~20%, and can be upgraded later.
**Q. How do I unlock more fish?**
A. New Small Fish are unlocked every 6 Fishing Levels, new Medium Fish are unlocked every 8 Fishing Levels, and new Large Fish every 15 levels. *You do not unlock new fish with Fishing power. Fishing power just makes you catch more fish every time you reel one in *
**Q. I bought some starting levels in the gift shop. Am I missing out on Skill Points?**
A. No, not really. If you start at level 15, it is just as easy to get to 25 as it is starting at level 1 and getting to 11.
**Q. Auto-progression in fighting when?**
A. Soon! Maybe even later this week.
**Q. I bought the Gem Portal, but am not getting my 150 daily gems! Cmon I need those gems man!**
A. You have to go to the Summoning screen where the Gem Portal is to get your daily gems!

This guide will take you though everything there is to know about Idle Skilling!
Idle Skilling involves upgrading animated pixel characters "Skillers" who gradually give you EXP in skills and level you up! These Skills make you a better fighter in one way or another, which in turn will help you earn more gold from killing monsters. More gold means more Skiller upgrades, which means better fighting, earning you yet more gold, which---well you get the point :)
.
**SKILLS**-------------------------------------------------------------
Primary skills include:
* Attack: Increases Hit Chance, and gives a slight damage boost (+4% per level)
* Strength: Greatly Increases base damage, and also gives a large damage boost (+10% per level)
* Endurance: Increases base hp, and also gives a large hp boost (+10% max hp per level)
Secondary skills include:
* Mining: There are 16 different types of ores.
* Fishing: There are 30 different types of fish, that exist in 3 different sizes (small/med/large)
* Smithing: Craft 64 different items using Ores and Fish. These boost every stat you could imagine: Rep speed, Idle attack speed, base HP, Fishing power, Mining equipment, and much much more!
**Unlock these skills with Skillpoints earned by leveling up. It wont take long to unlock all 3**
.
**FIGHTING**---------------------------------------------------------
Fighting will be your main source of earning money to upgrade Skillers. There are 300+ monsters over 5 different zones, with each monster needing to be killed a certain number of times to reach the next one. The final unique monster in each zone is a Keymaster, and getting past him will unlock the next zone, and any other feature that is locked behind his key.
Dying a lot? Try getting better **Foods**. One of the major Smithing items is food. There are 5 different foods that can be crafted (like the Fishwich). Once crafted, you will automatically eat them to heal. They have infinite uses, and will heal more the more you upgrade them in the Smithing area!
.
**RAIDS**-------------------------------------------------------------
By now you may have noticed the Locked Purple Gate. Defeating the 1st keymaster will unlock this area, and grant you access to Raids and Ascentions!
Raids are challenging, unique boss battles that will test your fighting power! They each have their own unique, visible attack patterns (hurling axes, swinging swords), allowing you to actually think about what skills you want to use and when.
Earn Raid Awards by dealing damage to bosses -- you will get your Awards regardless of if you kill the boss or not. These awards are spend in the Gift Shop, where you can buy Permanent upgrades that do not get reset when you Ascend.
.
**ASCENTION**-----------------------------------------------------
Speaking of Ascending, this is a game-resetting system that gives you Ascention Points (AP) to spend on yet more permanent bonuses! There are 12 bonuses to spend your AP on, but you only get access to 3 to start with. You need to kill more keymasters (i.e. reach new zones) to gain access to the rest of the bonuses!
Pressing **ASCEND** will give you AP based on how much progress you've made in the game. Spend these AP, or refresh/close the game if you changed your mind and dont want to refresh.
Pressing **ASCEND** again will **RESET THE GAME**, so make sure to spend your AP before doing this!
.
**SECRET AREAS**-----------------------------------------------
Secret whats? Not sure what to put here, since there definitely aren't 3 secret areas that give **AMAZING** bonuses to various crucial parts of the game! Hmm.... yea I really don't know what to talk about. I mean, if there *were* hidden places that only 400 IQ Ricks could figure out how to get to, that would be a great thing to put here! But since there definitely aren't any secret areas, I guess I have nothing of substance to put here!
.
**GEMS**-------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know if this needs explaining but I've spent an... *unfortunate*... amount of time making this silly little time waster. However, it's been such a positive in my life--something to busy my mind when I'm anxious, something to do to unwind when I'm stressed, and I want to keep doing it for as long as I can.
But I'm not joking about the time it took to make this game. I basically treated making this game as a full time job since May (I had a lot of free time, might as well go all out!), even though it really is just a hobby. I put in gems as a way for people to help me continue doing something that I am very passionate about.
If you decide to buy some, just know it will go a long way to helping me and that I really appreciate it (and I hope I can make you even happier with your purchase with my future updates!). But don't feel pressured into buying either--I'm not starving, or destitue or anything, and you simply playing the game is good support too!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope you all enjoy the game! There are **MANY** more details/nuances to this game that I think you'll love figuring out! And dont worry about those three secret areas, they definitely dont exist! Hahaha...... ha

**FULL IN-DEPTH GUIDE TO IDLE SKILLING**
-----------------------------------
____________________________________________
How to navigate through the game
You have two icons in the top corners, the one on the right side is a half circle. The left one takes you to the training screen, fighting screen, perk screen, crafting screen & portal screen. While the right icon is connected to the current area (i.e if you are on the fighting screen, it will show you different zones).
===| TRAINING |===
Pretty much just what you would expect it to be. This is where you train your stats; attack (sword, red), strength (fist, orange) & endurance (heart, green).
In the beginning you will only start with one kind of "skiller" (a.k.a trainer), which is the bench guy in the gym.
This area provides you with h2o experience (blue balls), which is your main "character" level, and skill levels. Skill levels being Attack, Strength & Endurance.
You should be able to determine what gives what by looking at the small icons under the character;
*Pixel character*
BENCHING (skiller)
Blue orb (h2o experience)
Fist (Skill)
Green arrow (this is the speed)
At this point i don't know if there is a speed cap for skillers.
As you probably have noticed, you have 4 circular icons near the lower left corner. 1 says "Skiller+", this one lets you buy a new skiller.
One is a "?" with "HELP" under it, read it. It covers some basic info about the game. Its there to help you out, so use it.
One is what appears to be a tombstone with "2+2=4" with "TOTALS" under it. This one tells you much exp & and skill exp you get per MINUTE, not second.
And the last one takes you the gem store.
===| GYM |===
Your starting area for building up your character. In order to advance you should spend the gold you have on this guy (and build it up later on). Try to spend the gold equally between Value & Speed.
Putting it all on speed will just push you so far. Putting it all on value will certainly give you more experience, but a much slower pace. Try to be equal, balancing between the 2 is always the way to go.
In the gym you will get 2 skillers for strength & endurance, and 1 for attack. You cannot (at this point at least) have more than 5 trainers in any of the training areas!
My recommendation is to get the next skiller as soon as you can and upgrade it the same way you did with the first one (this goes for any skiller here on forth).
===| ATTACK DOJO (Sword, Red)|===
This your main area for leveling up your attack skill.
Attack increases your chance to hit, but from my experience (bug or not?) it seems to only affect skills. I went halfway through zone 2 with 0% hit chance while my idle attack kept killing things, and my skills missed like they were blind.
===| STRENGTH MOUNTAIN (Fist, Orange)|===
This is your main area for leveling up your attack skill.
Strength increases your damage and is most likely the most vital of the 3 skills. You should (in my oppinion) focus most on this in your first run, just my oppinion though.
And as i mentioned previously, level up speed & value equally.
===| ENDURANCE FIELD (Heart, Green)|===
This is your main area for leveling up your endurance skill.
Endurance increases your HP. Having a lot of HP is nice and all. But if you have 0 HP recovery, and cant kill your opponent fast enough, you will die. Only to face death.
This should be your 2nd option to level up after Strength. After all, 0 HP recovery will result in death sooner or later no matter how much HP you have, unless you wanna spam heal by your own all the time (can get boring, trust me).
=============================
===| FIGHTING |===
Wooh! Kill things! Get gold for doing it! But also risk your life to do so.
In short, this is where you will spend most of your time in the game, mainly cause its the only way (for now) to get gold. Dont rely on the gold you get for leveling up, it wont be nearly enough of what you will need to get somewhere.
There are 5 zones to conquer (more of this later on, section below), one harder/longer than the other.
You will start off with 0 HP recovery (mentioned it a lot and will keep mentioning it, but i will explain it soon) which means you will have to use "Heal" manually. You have 2 action bars; 1 for attacking skills and one for heal/buffs.
In the middle of the screen, in the bottom you will see a blue bar, this is your exp bar (h2o), its irrelevant on this screen but i will use it as a navigation position.
Just above that bar you will see 5 circular icons, these are your skills... Once you unlock them that is. You will start out with "Claw" and "Heal".
A little bit to left of the icons, you can see 2 arrows (1 green & 1 red), clicking those will change your action bar to either attack or heal/buffs. You could also press "Q" to change the bars if you dont feel like clicking (skills can be activated by pressin 1-5 aswell).
My recommendation is that you aim for a mob that you can kill with one hit, but which you also survive a bit against. No point in farming an enemy that kills you 5 seconds later just to wait 10 seconds to respawn. Pick an easier mob till you get HP recovery.
===| FIGHTNING ZONES |===
As i mentioned above, there are 5 zones to conquer.
You start of in the Grasslands and the rookie you are.. Against a mushroom (even you cant die against that can you? Just don't eat it!)..
In order to advance you need to defeat the Keymaster in each zone, meaning there is a total of 4 (last zone doesnt have any, confirmed by Lavaflame2).
"Am i close to the keymaster!?" -Well, inbefore you encounter the keymaster, you will have to defeat its disciple. Whenever you encounter the disciple, you know that the keymaster will be next.
"How many stages are there!?" -Zone 1 has 15 stages (15 being keymaster), zone 2 has 29, zone 3 i dont know, i have yet to reach it myself.
Zone 1: 15 stages
Zone 2: 29 stages
Zone 3: ??
Zone 4: ??
Zone 5: --
After beating zone 1 you will gain access to the Portal area & the vault, aswell as the possibility to Ascend.
I will guide you through this further down.
===| THE VAULT |===
Puzzle ring... Anyone? The vault is most likely your easiest way to earn gold. It only opens once per hour, and kicks you out after 30 seconds.
The enemies won't attack you in here so do not worry about dieing. Also, use Midas when you have about 6-7 seconds left. And dont forget to pop your attack skills.
The more enemies you kill, the more gold you will get. Unlike the zones this one has auto-progression & 1 mob per "stage".
=============================
===| PERKS |===
Perks... Just as it sounds. This is where you can upgrade your abilities, and gain access to new stuff such as fishing, mining, blacksmithing, training areas & other cool stuff. I will walk you through this in a detailed way so have no fear!
You need Skill Points to unlock/level up things here. In order to get Skill Points, you need to level things up. So the more stuff you unlock, the more skill points you can get! Win-win situation right?... Right?..
I will try to make a decent map of the trees aswell. Don't expect no Michelangelo skills.
===| ATTACK PERKS |===
Not much to chose from in the start eh? Get 3 skill points to unlock the "Attack Dojo" & "Mining skill". Remember, every skill you level up, grants you skill points. So don't ignore or underestimate mining, fishing or even blacksmithing! All of them are important!
Once you have unlocked those and mined some ores, and mined some more ores, and level up your Attack skill a little more in the Dojo, or even in the gym, and earned yourself 2 SP? Great, get the skill that gives you "Double ore chance". "Why that one" is probably going through your head right now,
well, the more ore you get, the more upgrades in the blacksmith! You other option is to upgrade claw to perform more attacks, which aint necesseray at this point.
Now that you have the double ore chance, save up another 3 SP to unlock the next skill above "Double ore chance". This one is called "+x% ores per mining level", which gives you more ores the higher your mining level is. It makes a HUGE difference later on.
After you have gotten those skills, you can embark upon getting Strength Mountain & Blacksmith, aswell as Endurance field & fishing. Remember to save up on those SP, you are gonna need 6 of them to unlock all the areas.
+xx% Idle attack speed (10 SP) Claw deals +xxx% damage (10 SP)
| |
Minimum damage is xx% of max (5 sp) Smite deals +xxx% damage (5 SP)
\_______________/
|
Vision gives +xx% crit chance (4 SP)
/ \
+x% ores per mining level (3 SP) Claw attacks x times (3 SP)
| /
+xx% double ore chance (2 SP) /
\_______________/
|
Mining Skill (2 SP)
|
Attack Dojo (1 SP)
===| STRENGTH PERKS |===
Just like the Attack Perk... *sigh*... Only 2 options to start with, go get'em tiger!
Now, once you have gotten past the first 2 skills, "Strength Mountain" & "Blacksmith", pick the left route. As you picked up on "Double ore chance" & "+x% ores per mining level", you really want that "Forge recharges xx% faster" (if you bought the infinity forge you can bypass this, but i still recommend going this path).
The reason why i recommend this path, is because you want the next skill in there; "Crafting gives xx% more exp". Remember, you get SP by leveling up your skills! And you also unlock stuff faster this way! Another win-win situation! We like those don't we?
Once you have put a point in those, its time to head for the last perk tree, the healthy green one.
+xxx% Chance for double craft (10 SP) +x.x% idle attack insta kill (10 SP)
| |
All skills deals xx% damage (5 sp) Valor increases damage & hp by xx% (5 SP)
\_______________/
|
Flurry deals xxx% damage (4 SP)
/ \
Crafting gives xx% more exp (3 SP) Meteor deals xxx% damage (3 SP)
| /
Forge charges xx% faster (2 SP) /
\_______________/
|
Blacksmithing Skill (2 SP)
|
Strength Mountain (1 SP)
===| ENDURANCE PERKS |===
So, time to get those last areas. "Fishing & "Endurance Field". Get them and once again go for the left side. We want that "Fishing is xx% faster".
Once we have claimed superiority over the fishing speed, our next target is "Midas", which is located just above with one skill inbetween (and that one is more or less useless if you ask me), it will let us get a percentage of the monsters value. Most likely the most usefull skill early on.
Each endurance level gives +xx% HP (10 SP) xxx% resource collection (10 SP)
| |
All food heals +xx% HP (5 sp) Seal lasts xx Seconds (5 SP)
\_______________/
|
(Midas) - Clicking gives xx% monster gold (4 SP)
/ \
(fishing) Warp skips x seconds (3 SP) Poison hits every 0.x seconds (3 SP)
| /
Fishing is xx% faster (2 SP) /
\_______________/
|
Fishing Skill (2 SP)
|
Endurance Field (1 SP)
===| Personal preference regarding skills |===
I did give you my advice on how to start building your tree early on, but how about later on?
Depending on how many skill points you can get (i.e from fishing with fishing hats (superb way to get SP early on), i always go for double crafting, crafting gives more exp, resource collection, idle attack speed, double ore chance & ++% ores per mining level.
That will help you to build up a steady flow of Skill Points and also enable you to get stronger faster, in order to catch up faster.
In regards of attack skills & buffs (once i have maxed the ones above), the first one i max out (always!) is midas! The gold you get from using it is a heavenly gift. Don't underestimate it!
1. Midas 5*
2. Valor 5*
3. Smite 5*
4. Claw hits 5*
5. Claw damage 5*
P.s. Only go for the claw perks if you have unlocked auto-claw. Otherwise go for Flurry or poison.
=============================
===| CRAFTING |===
This is where 90% of the magic happens, aswell as the other 10% of that magic. Crafting gets you +xx% gold per kill, +x.x% crit chance, damage boosts, rep boosts (increases training speed!), damage reduction, HP increase and the almight HP recovery!
This is also where we will be using all those fishes and ores that we have built up, also why i recommended you to go with the skills i told you to.
===| MINING |===
Mining.. Is... One.. Hell... Of.. A.. Grind.... You can have a total of 6 miners, the last one is unlocked at h2o level 30 and costs 125m! (Spam that Midas!).
Every 5th level of mining skill will grant you access to a new ore! Wow! Awesome! Except that once you reach 40-50+... You can see the exp rise... 45.34%... 2 hours later, 45.35%.. PROGRESS!*_* No really.. It gets terribly slow. I'll guide you how to get through this without
losing your mentality aswell. More about that later down in the Raid Portals.
To buy new miners, click the icon on the left side that says "MINER+".
Mining grants a new ore every 5th level up to level 75.
Dont forget, level your miners equally!
===| BLACKSMITHING |===
This is what you have all been waiting for! That HP recovery is so damn close now that you totally want that Fishwich now so you can actually ignore the screen and forget about all the torture of using Heal all the time!
In order to craft the Fishwich you need 2 certain fishes, worry not, they are tier 1, so you can get them as soon as you start fishing, HOWEVER, fishing is random. My advice on this is to go for the fighting screen and leave the screen for 30 min or so, and then check back on the fishes. Then go to the blacksmith
and drag that Fishwich over the anvil and have him hammer that thing away! Hopefully you finally got your first HP recovery item! There are 5 in total.
What i would recommend;
1. Fishwich (cause HP rec)
2. Petty Theft +xx% cash from enemies (Along with Midas; $$$$)
3. Copper Trinket +x% damage
4. Broken Dagger base damage +xxx (This is not percentage, its flat damage increase.)
5. Iron rod +xxx Fishing Power (Fishing power = more fishes per cast, more fishes = more hp rec)
6. Reinforced Exp +x.x% exp gain chance (Increases your chance to gain exp in the training areas)
Once you reach level 10 Blacksmith & level 20 mining, have your miners farm for Platinum. By then you will be able to get access to your first +x% idle attack speed, totally worth it.
Blacksmith skills unlocks every 10th level up to level 70.
===| FISHING |===
Not much to say really. New rods will unlock as you craft them at the blacksmith, new hooks depends on your fisher level. Last hook is a red one, not sure what fisher level is required for it.
More fishing power increases amount of fishes per fish so dont forget to level up those rods at the blacksmith and those power values at the fishing screen.
New hooks levels up from fishing. There are 6 of them in total.
=============================
===| PORTAL |===
This is where the fun stuff is. This area is accessible once you beat the keymaster in zone 1 and can be found if you click on the top left icon (remember that i mentioned this earlier?)
Lets click that Portal and head over there... *Activates the stargate*
===| ??? PORTAL (lower left) |===
This is the ??? portal, no one knows why its there, nor its functions (i do know, and a lot of other people aswell but since its connected to the secrets of the game i won't be spoiling it).
===| ASCENSION PORTAL (Midle) |===
That beautiful rebirth a.k.a Ascension here. Your best friend in order to advance through the game and also grow stronger with just a few mouseclicks.
Your first Ascension won't do that much difference but dont despair! You will be ascending more than once!
===| RAID PORTAL (Lower right) |===
Dont be fooled of the area once you click the portal. This is the raid area and these bosses will give you a handfull if you aint prepared for them.
By raiding you will gain access to a few new things, which can be bought with "Trophies" (accquired from attacking/killing the raid bosses).
There are currently 4 bosses, with 3 difficulties each. Depending on the amount tickets you use, 1, 3 or 10 will make it harder, but also increase the rewards. 1 ticket being the easiest version of the boss.
In order to initiate a fight you have to click on one of the bosses, select a number of tickets & then click "Theatre" in the top right corner.
Trial & error is a good way to go around in order to find out if you can beat the boss, but dont go over your head, you dont wanna waste those raid tickets.
Raid tickets generates 1 every 3rd hour.
===| TROPHIES & GIFT SHOP |===
Got your first Trophies? Cool, lets use them.
In the area where you chose which boss you wanna fight, you will see 2 arrows in the top right corner, one saying "Theatre" and the other one "Gift Shop". Go there, its time to buy some preciousssssss gifts.
Once there, you will see 4 paintings. Clicking on one of these will show you the bonuses they will provide (these are permanent and will carry over with ascension)
Going from left to right;
===| SKILL PAINTING |===
Lets you upgrade your initial Training Skills levels and the exp required to level them up.
Now you are probably thinking "Wont that reduce the amount of Skill points i get?" -No, it wont. You will start with a higher level, but the exp you get, will be regarded as if it was level 0.
The exp required to level up wont really need an explanation.... Or?
===| CRAFT PAINTING |===
Pretty much the same as the previous one, but for the Crafting Skills. This is also where you will spend most of your points for the moment.
Remember when i said that Mining is a hell of a grind? This is your way to counter that.
Smash that initial mining level and exp required if you cant level up the initial level no more. This will help you reach higher ores earlier aswell as reaching the new ores faster!
Not sure if blacksmithing and fishing is worth it, personally i dont find the blacksmith nor fishing to be so. I reach blacksmith 70 very fast (thanks to the craftin exp +xx%) and my fishing flies up at the start.
If you dont have this luxury, then go for them by all means. Having a higher initial level is never a bad thing.
===| SKILLERS PAINTING |===
This one is pretty simple, increases the exp you get from your skillers.
===| MISC PAINTING |===
Aaaaaaaaaauto-claaaaaaw! Seriously, get it. Dont hesitate. Once you get those claw damage & claw attacks perks you wont be struggling for a good while, and also have a bigger shot at killing the first raid boss.
I realize you can just pop the skills yourself, but hey... Its an idle game. Save your mouse & keyboard. They dont live forever.
You also have 2 different auto-casts here. One for attack skills and one for heal/buffs. They will chose skills by random so you have no control over that. For now at least.
Worth getting? In my oppinion, yes.
Upgrading the Auto-Claw decreases the cooldown time of the auto. And the auto-casts just enables more skills to be accounted for in the auto-rotation.
=============================
===| ASCENDING |===
Let's ascend to the heavens only to fall back down... To the grasslands... To our friend Mushroom... Deja vu indeed.. Only that you are a bit stronger this time around (dont eat the mushroom anyway).
You will notice that you will get around faster, no wonder since you grew stronger from ascending!
Lets jump over to the ascension screen.
Here you will see 12 skills, where 9 will be locked (recognize the locks?). In order to unlock the other skills, you will have to beat the related keymaster.
On the right side you have an information box. This one literally tells you how much AP you will receive and where those AP's come from. I'm not sure how those things scale but its the following;
-Total kills (just kill enemies, cant be that hard)
-Ores mined (Simple)
-Fishes caught (Simple aswell)
-Total skill level (level up your skills)
===| FIRST ASCENSION AND AMOUNT OF AP |===
The most common question is "When should i ascend?". There is no "when", you choose yourself when to do it. However, it is recommend to do so when you have AT LEAST(!) 50 AP.
It all comes down to how long you want to wait to get stronger. More AP, more power.
"Ok, so i clicked that ascend button, what should i use my AP on?"
Congratulations! You are now an ascended and a part of the group!
It is highly recommended that you put your points in "H2O DAMAGE BOOST" (middle one with a fist). This one will give you +x.x% dmg PER h2o level!
The more you invest in a skill here, the more pricey it will become. Some skills are more pricey by default, or they would be way to overpowered.
===| Notes |===
And with that i think i covered most of it out of my personal preference... Or... Wait a second.. I forgot the gem shop! I will just add my oppinion here.
The order you should aim for (in my oppinion) is as follows;
1. Infinite Forge
2. Miners (all 6)
3. Fishing Hats
I hope this guide will help you somehow.
With that mentioned, big thanks to Lavaflame2 for making this game.
=Guide made by Novastrike=
