There are 3 secret areas, I'm not entirely sure if they have to be unlocked in a certain order but I unlocked them as follows:
First secret area is found by defeating Death
Second secret area is found by crafting one of the 'Blacksmith Pills' on the "skilled" crafting page and dragging it to the blacksmith
Third secret area is found by collecting the Grammophone pieces, first piece is found by unlocking the second secret area, the second is found in one of the 4 "training areas" called strength mountain, it can be found near the guy pushing a boulder, the third piece is found on the fishing screen bobbing in the water.
Once you've collected all 3 pieces of the Grammophone you need to grind your fishing level to 80 and then click on the Grammophone to summon a giant fish, taking you to the third secret area.
Hope this was helpful and please correct me if any details are wrong as this guide was made from asking the community as I stumbled across most areas and didn't really pay attention to how I unlocked them :P

I tried some of the things you said and some of this is wrong. I found the third piece bobbing in the water befor the other two, and crafted a pill but nothing happened... not sure whats up with the rest though

You have to drag the pill (once you craft it) from the list of crafts to the blacksmith

The information you just quoted it 100% correct and for the blacksmith pill you have to drag it to the blacksmith *updated*

No need to craft the pill, you just need to drag it to the smithy once you reach the "skilled" page.

im confused by the 2nd secret. I got it unlocked, but what i need to do there? i know 3k of gold(?) but it still says no

I think once you've unlocked gold for the first time through mining you go back into that secret zone and it gifts you 3000 of them, don't quote me though cause i'm not sure, maybe someone else can help shed some light on that one

I believe that once you've reached certain ores in mining you go back there and it gives you some, like i said in my previous post though i'm not 100% sure

i have massively over 3k gold ( 180k at time writing this) and the thing still says no.
Could it be that we must have under 3k gold for it to give something?

Does the icon actually look like gold? The 11th material you can mine at Mining 50 looks like a golden ball/pearl.

You're probably thinking of the wrong gold, the one it gives is the round gold like Dfoianu's picture

Level 110 fishing, all 3 grammaphone peices, but i cant unlock the area... am i missing something else? Yes its on, its making music notes, anyway.

It happens randomly when you watch it catch something. Happened for me around level 60.

Actively afk on the fishing page with the gramophone on. Leave the page up, and go do something for like 5 minutes at most then come back. I programmed the secret to NOT activate until you click, so dont worry about missing it.

So what's the earliest a player can actually do something in a secret area? I'm guessing it's with the dubloonium in the blacksmith's area? I have two unlocked but mining (ARG IT STILL SUCKS LEVELING IT POST UPDATE) and fishing aren't high enough to do anything with them.

I'm having some issues getting the giant fish to appear. I'm level 41 in fishing and have unlocked the other two, and I've been idling for about ~7 minutes with fishing open watchingthe dude fish and then when the time is up I go to click and the fish doesnt appear. I dont know what I'm doing wrong? The grammaphone is on and everything, am I just not a high enough level?

Other people have got it at level 60.

You can now access the fishing secret boss at 60 fishing.
Here are the buffs gained:
Death's son: Defeating monsters gives % more kills (I think 40 is base, and it's multiplicative with the AP version of this effect, which is awesome)
Pig Head: Ascending Gives % more AP (I think it's 50 base)
Fishing guy: Offline fishing gives % more fishing EXP. You also catch same % more fish.
In other words, these are all freaking amazing and you should try to get them as soon as you can. It's worth it to stick around in a run an extra day just to get the extra levels to complete these secrets.
