On Sunday, February 23, 2020, a heated debate transpired in chat. An up and coming player put forth the arguement that a slime's mood affects its bonus only at the current level of the slime; irregardless of any previous gains received under other moods. A veteran and long time player countered, that the bonus represented the cumulative total of all previous bonus's received and affected by the slime's mood when the bonus was received.
As to play style, the question is: Should you keep your slimes Heroic/Loyal, only changing to Feral/Evil at the last 100 levels you want to push; or should you push your slimes Feral/Evil only changing to Heroic/Loyal when you want to keep them around longer.
If the upstart was correct, it implies that by changing to Heroic/Loyal on the last levels, you may actually end up losing Slime trait bonuses.
A trusted, neutral third party, with plenty of spare time, opted to run a test:
-Given an Elite Mitsuki, run it up to Polite. Then, change it to Devilish. Stop at a given point.
-Take the same Elite Mitsuki, only push it to Devilish. Stop at same point, and compare results.

Considering that the bonuses from the new slime should be higher than the ones in your museum, going evil immediately gives you the enhanced stat bonuses while its leveling.

@kaiwoklaw it also consumes mood much faster. Provided that you want to level a slime to high levels it is advantegeous to level it good and then transition to Evil.
Then again if you want the stats right away just turn her evil right to start.

Realistically, Good alignments won't preserve Mood enough to actually matter during the leveling phase due to how fast it goes, you gain about 95% of the levels in about 1% or 2% of the lifespan once your upper waifu level hits the 300+ range. So a Devilish waifu can last for several real world days without any issue, unless RNG decides she really really wants fish, and shifting from Devilish to Angelic might not even be possible at the point where it would matter, you would have to stop a good 100 levels early of expected end level.
Thus, I'm in the camp of "Make her Devilish right away, and never shift her away" because anything else isn't likely to happen and/or matter.

This.
Even going evil right away, resources aren't the reason I stop levelling the slime. If the slime doesn't level in 12 hours it's too old and needs to be put into the museum or into combat.
Only reliable advantage of going good on a slime is to level training.
Remember, the slimes exist to give you a boost. You don't exist to boost your slimes.

After brief consideration, and as a longtime subscriber to the Devilish only camp (without a second thought):
I would recommend using Angelic for a Slime that you don't plan on using in order to level up as a way of building training EXP (provided you have extra training injector time like I do)
