dear fellow farmers
i see a lot of questions about gold and best methods
this is my own experience from a lot of playing at various stages in the game
early game:
all crops as you unlock them in order are the current "best earners"
so, strawberries>corn>pumpkins>blueberries>tomato>lettuce
i recomend 2-3 of the diamond upgrades for increasing their various incomes by x2, dont stress your diamond income with more for now, beyond that focus more on "all income" sources, be it growth speed, gold, % gold time shards of so on
next step:
the moment you obtain mystic scepter level 7 you'll want to max out the 4 rank x7 blueberry gold upgrade, your blueberries will be the dominant income source until around AH gold values, where corn will start to beat it (also with the x7 corn upgrade maxed)
this should coast you to the point where carrots basicly reign supreme as your main income exept for a short moment with turnips, their own income again should fast boost carrots into the top spot within a guild level or 2 at max
edited to add:
best apothecary setup i know at this moment for gold is as follows:
tier 1, 1.5x gold
tier 2, 2x pixie gold
tier 3 60% faster farmer (when your top crop is carrot)
tier 4 1.25x growth speed, potentially add +1 pixie if you have timeshards enough and play active enough
tier 6 you can add +15% rare pixie, like the secondary tier 4 upgrade, it depends on your timeshard pool
tier 7 2x growth speed, all friends harvest 15% faster
the basic setup that i'd recomend costs 1+2+(3)+4+7+7=21 (24) timeshards, the two optional is +4 and 6 beyond that, so 31(34) allowing for simple idle or focused pixie hunting and with/without carrots

How do you make carrots your main income? An autoclicker? And is it carrots until Turnip?

Carrots seem good on paper, until you remember that they lack the 7.5x bonus from the harvester.
I guess with an autoclicker and 20 harvests per second, they might dominate, but for now (in the mid/upper ap range, guild 38) I still get way better results from turnip in offline/idle mode.

Is autoclickers limited to 20 clicks per second?
Also on another note, I find strawberries to be more profitable than carrots, but an upgraded Turnip trumps all.

dear both marcell1992 and thalain
it is without autoclickers
yes it also factors in that carrots do not get the 7.5x gold bonus, they simply become that much stronger
current count on income for my top 3 crops per harvest, carrot 15.37As, corn is next at 935.88Ar per harvest (before the 7.5x) and strawberries at 206.23Ar per (pre 7.5x), the other crops pales compared, too long harvest times and even worse gain per harvest
considering the mad harvest speed farmer has once you pay 3 timeshards for 60% harvest bonus it is really easy to figure out that carrots are leaps and bounds ahead of the other 2 at that point
but sure, if you dont believe me, just stick to the sub par incomes as long as you wish

"but sure, if you dont believe me, just stick to the sub par incomes as long as you wish"
Thanks for being so polite on your high horse. You're far higher in income (several as per harvest) than I am (as stated, in the ap range - for things I buy, not per harvest). Experiences will obviously be different and I don't doubt that carrots can be superior when you're an 1e7 multiplier further in. I specifically stated what happens now, at my state of game, and at that point turnip is not "sub par" but dominant in offline per hour. Easily verified by just keeping the game running, especially when I just had a merchant requirement that needed both and could directly compare.

sure, turnips has a slight tange where it is great, but it soon gets trashed again by carrots, you should be nearing that point again, dont forget to spend 3 timeshards on 60% faster carrot harvest speed
easiest comparison is not by offline but by simply using pixies, blue or purple (purple simply being x10 compared to the blue ones)
for pixies or offline, i run a 5 carrot 1x corn setup
for actual income while online&idle, 2x highest crops, 1-2 of each of the next 2 ones is really the best setup as far as i can tell (not counting for pixie gold focus) but even 1-2 purples would soon outweigh the gain by being idle with lower crops
if you want to be active for pixies or offline, stack as many of your current max crops with sprinklers boosting a single one as much as possible
this is all not counting auto clicker
as for guild level and so on, it also matter which diamond upgrades you have, which apothecary upgrades you pick and so on, i guess i shouldve focused on that part too
best apothecary setup i know at this moment for gold is as follows:
tier 1, 1.5x gold
tier 2, 2x pixie gold

I've now reached high aq / low ar territory and that's where carrots tend to become good. Guild 41, built up ~100aq with turnip (had a turnip merchant task) then used that to max carrot and farm it (also for a merchant task) and it was definitely better by a factor of 3 or so. Just in case anyone wonders where the tipping point is.
