I smelted bars, crafted a multishot chip(owned: 1), unlocked a chip slot on my MT, but when i click the slot a small window pops up showing nothing. What do i have to do to equip a chip? Am i missing something?

Figured out what was happening, in my case at least. It appears that you have to update the Tier to 1 and then craft 1 more chip before they will become available.
